I just knew Reds fans were going to be all bubbly about this move: http://www.forums.mlb.com/n/mb/message.asp...g=23982.1&ctx=0

Let the guy have a break. At this point, Ozzie can do whatever he wants and I'm not going to rip him. What does it matter if he goes or not. The people who go should enjoy it and the people who don't go, well, that's their choice. No one should be criticized for not going.

Oh s***, if he is kept in AAA, he'll be here in Louisville. This is my chance to meet Timo!

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 11:38 AM) Better programming will win out. Howard is the top radio draw in the country. The money they spent on him is to program 3 channels. He is still building the people on the channels. He is bringing on Scott Ferrell to be a sports guy, at night. As much as I don't know the guy, apparently he has had a lot of national exposure. Sirius recently signed on the Blue Collar Comedy Guys, which should be a good draw. And I'm sure has more guys coming along. The music at this point is the same on each service. The premium s*** is what will matter. MLB = better than anything Sirius has. And don't say the NFL is better, it's one day a week. I just shake my head at people who tell me they have Sirius because it has the NFL. Baseball programming on XM is very good. Also, Sirius will not generate enough revenue to justify what they are paying Stern. If he doesn't pan out exactly how they intend, they are in deep trouble. They are also almost 3 million subscribers behind.
-
Also, XM is still ahead of Sirius and continues to show a better outlook. This stays in line with my prediction of an eventual XM buyout of Sirius or just a flat out fall for Sirius due to the amount they overpaid for Stern...
-
This does nothing for me, she'll never make it through the speakers of any device my XM is hooked to.

I would like this a lot more if...by clicking on a point, you could fire a rocket or a missile at the house instantaneously. That'd make for some good content.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 10:06 AM) Did the Oprah with the White Sox right after they won ever air? I made my wife look out for them to make an appearance, but she never saw them. I saw the highlights on all the news channels the day it happened, but I never saw them. She had basically everyone on in a group back in November for about 5 mins. That was all. As for the name-calling on Pods, well, that's just juvenile. Dude hit the game winner in game 2. He is a legend in Chicago forever.

Just wanted to let everyone know that greasywheels121 (Zach) has been promoted to admin here at Soxtalk. Wanted to announce it myself because I helped bring him to the mod ranks here at Soxtalk. Zach is a great poster and all of the other admins are glad to have him aboard. He is a perfect example of what makes Soxtalk great. So everyone join me in congratulating him...

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 08:57 PM) I spent several weeks getting ready for it as much as I possibly could...like sitting around every night spending a coupel hours with those flash cards, doing at least 5-10 practice tests, etc. But then again, I was hoping to wind up getting into MIT or Caltech, so my requirements were probably a little more stringent than yours. And I'm no Rocket Scientist...I'm a rock scientist. Good deal, I'm just hoping I can manage a 500 on each section and go on my way happily ever after.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 08:13 PM) Took the GRE a couple of years ago. 800 math, 680 english, 6/6 on the writing. My advice on the Kaplan book - the one I got was garbage. Absolute garbage. I believe a company called Barrons or something like that puts out one that's significantly better. Gigantic word list inside, practice exams, etc. Basically what I wound up doing was taking every word I didn't know from their gigantic list and putting them on flash cards. I believe it worked. The math part wasn't hugely difficult for me, but then again I was a math minor, so most of the random tricks they test you on I still remembered because I was using them. The writing part...well, just take a look at some practice writing portions. They'll show you pretty quick what's involved in making a good essay. I believe one other company put out a book that was 100% practice tests. I used that & it also worked well. http://www.amazon.com/fallback/handle-buy-...in.0764178784=1 Found that, may have to pick that up. As far as how long you studied or prepared...How much time did you spend getting ready. I plan on taking it in Mid-March or so. I really don't even need great scores, just around a 500 or so on both sections. Going into an education masters program, but since my undergrad degree is not education, they are requiring I take this test. Thanks for your help and great scores by the way, you must be some sort of rocket scientist.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 01:35 PM) The rosters I'm using aren't completely up to date. They are a month or so old. But yes, they are on a standard Xbox memory card. All an Action Replay is is just a standard 8 MB memory card that comes with a special cable that links the memory card to your computer via a USB connection. This special cable lets you transfer rosters and saves (that you download from the internet) from your computer to your memory card. Then, you can transfer the rosters and saves from your memory card to your Xbox's hard drive. The creator of this roster set (Ultimate Rosters) will be releasing his latest update sometime this week or so. This guy makes his roster set for the PC version of MVP Baseball 2005 and then another guy has to convert the roster file for use with Xbox. If someone sent you a memory card, could you fill it and send it back?

Just wanted to know if anyone has taken the GRE (Graduate Record Exam). I need to take it in the next month or so for the program I am applying to get into. It's actually the last thing I need to do in order to get accepted. I understand it can be quite tricky. I've gotten one of those Kaplan books and have started to look over things and brush up. Anyone have any advice on how to study for this thing, how difficult it really is or any other tips. Thanks in advance if anyone can offer anything. I haven't found much if anything on the web in terms of discussion of the test from actual test-takers themselves.

Scarlett is well, Scarlett. I would drink her bath water. That is all.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 03:57 PM) You have to register a user name at MVPmods.com to download their rosters. To transfer a roster file from your computer to your Xbox you need an Action Replay. So this is a fairly simple process? Any tips or suggestions? Have you used the mvpmods rosters? Are they any good?

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 10:04 PM) Out of the system, six year FA if I remember correctly, or non tendered, or something of the like. For some reason, he is listed in the bullpen on the whitesox.com depth chart.

What ever happened to Dave Sanders?

anyone know how downloading the rosters from the mvpmods.com site works? Is there a way to download rosters and get them onto an xbox somehow?

Dayn Perry makes another error is his newes column

Putting Shingo on any top 10 list in itself is a huge error. The fact that he spelled it Shinjo further proves this idiot does no research on anything else than the Yankees. -
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 02:41 PM) Kenny even made mention to him being a team cancer at soxfest without actually mentioning his name. Yes, this happened. And yes, everyone knew he was talking about Lee. And yes, he will never be on the White Sox again, at least not on KW or Ozzie's watch.
