  1. lol. my mom makes some really good pizza too though, but she doesn't make it too often so I usually have to order out or throw in a frozen one.
  2. I never heard of the bullet holes and would be really suprised if that happened. as far as traveling too far south? after the Sox35th stop you aren't going to be running into the safest of areas, but the area right around the park is pretty safe. go a bit further south and east and yeah, it gets a bit bad, but it's not nearly as dangerous as people make it seem.
  3. personally, I don't see how Wrigley is nicer/cleaner than Bridgeport. Wrigley has some pretty crappy and torn up houses.
  4. 1. U.S. Cellular was considered to be one of the worst stadiums in baseball, but the renovations over the past few years has changed that I think. The park is much improved. 2. The Cubs are more popular because of where they play and because of WGN. The Sox play in a residential neighborhood on the south side while the Cubs play in Wrigley, which is filled with bars and restaurants. I'd say the number of real, legit, intelligent fans is the same ... the Cubs just beat out the Sox when it comes to casual fans.

    Grilli

right now the Sox have seven relievers, without Diaz and Grilli, so I doubt either will be there this year.
  6. I don't usually use smilies, but this deserves it...
  7. man, everyone here got all this cool stuff and all I get is some money and clothes. Since the family is getting so big, everything is now being bought for my nephews and niece and other kids in the family.
  8. lol ... too many people already have their minds set on Harris, whether the numbers say otherwise or not. He actually improved last season and played pretty good considering the way he was treated, yet many feel he has gotten worse.
  9. umm, I'm confused. I do, like you, feel the Twins are a better team but I don't think they have the better staff. no dissagreement.
  10. I'm a Brad Radke fan, so I'm not going to say he isn't a good pitcher, but making the Twins starting staff better than ours on the basis that they have Santana and Radke doesn't do it for me. Radke, although good and a solid top-of-the-line type guy, isn't that good to be considered to be one half of a great 1-2. Are the Twins better? Yes, they have proven that over the past few years, but their rotation isn't better than the Sox as of right now, going into next season.
  11. too lazy to read all the posts, but one thing i like about this is that there isn't one player making more than $10 million. The money is spread out rather nicely, and every year it seems as though we'll have enough money freed in case we want to look at free agency.
  12. wow ... some really dumb people out there.
  13. thank you. we've gotten weaker on offense, although the new look will be more fun to watch, but our defense, rotation and pen have all improved.
  14. once again, for the idiots out there, THIS IS REAL LIFE, NOT PS2.
  15. if Rowand repeats his season then the Sox should give him a contract slightly better than the one they gave Uribe.
  16. we'd also have a team where the money is spread out and not going to just a handfull of guys.
  17. keep in mind you have two different guys. Uribe is not only more talented, but plays a more important position and has proven himself more, although not by much, than Rowand. Personally I'd lock up Rowand to a deal similar but slightly less than Uribe, but signing him to a one-year deal isn't a bad idea either ... let him prove he can do it again.
  18. yeah. like qwerty said about it being a popularity contest.
  19. no need to make another trade. Add Eckstein or Cora and call it an offseason ... a rather successful one.
  20. no, what I meant was, if Crede improves his offense, I think the result will be a much more relaxed defensive player. I think his only flaw on defense is his thought process.
  21. if he improves on offense he will be a gold glover.
  22. plus, with Uribe looking to be a streaky player on offense (with his energy and defense making up for it when he's struggling on offense) having him bat last would be rather ideal.
  23. Cora can play short, he's just better suited for second.
  24. yeah. I'm a big believer on not overloading an offense. With this lineup, you have three scrappy guys at the top of the order followed by the three main RBI guys.
  25. I think either lineup would be fine. I'd personally have Eckstein bat second with Rowand third... #1-Podsednik, LF #2-Eckstein, 2B #3-Rowand, CF #4-Konerko, 1B #5-Everett, DH #6-Dye, RF #7-Crede, 3B #8-Davis, C #9-Uribe, SS -Don't ask why I would have Uribe batting last, I just would for some reason.
