  1. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 04:05 PM) HoT FiRe doing a little magic trick there. Please stop
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 03:57 PM) Why wouldn't you save Thornton for an inning where Heyward comes up? Well Cabreras doesnt hit lefties as well and Blanco is a lefty. Just assuming Oz will use Jenks in the 9th no matter what. But, seeing as how Putz is in now maybe he wont.
  3. Great game by Gavin. Now bring in Thornton for the 8th.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 03:38 PM) Personally, I never said it was...it was the 7-8-9 that I thought was inexcusable. Really? I was more fine with that. Viciedo needs PT, Lilli for Beckham at this point is a wash and Andruw's gonna run into one eventually.
  5. b**** all you want about the lineup, but Ozzie's decision to bat Kotsay 3rd today will not be a factor if we lose.
  6. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 03:29 PM) Don't look now, but Gallardo very g00d against the Twins, through 5. I see what you did there
  7. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 03:25 PM) Nix has talent. He's a really good defensive 2B and given the correct at bats, can be a pretty decent hitter. You don't want to just give that away, especially not to the Indians. The odds of the Indians burning us because we gave them Jayson Nix are slim to none
  8. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 03:07 PM) "Quentin isn't going to f*** around here, he is taking Huddy deep" *Quentin hits a HR to RF* "Time for Quentin's 2nd blast tonight. He is going over the bullpen on this one." My friend - "Our bullpen, or theirs?". Me - "Ours. This is going to be a blast, and a pull shot" *Quentin blasts a HR over the Sox bullpen* Soo...yeah....EAT IT! Talk about rock solid evidence.
  9. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 12:24 PM) Every time I hear someone say that ...I think of my favorite commercial!!! "Well played Mauer" HAHAHA HA! My friends and I pretty much now always say "well played mauer" instead of just the regular "well played (insert name)"
  10. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 12:04 PM) I think Italy is regretting their decision not to include him even more. Not just him but that whole lineup selection was a joke QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 12:21 PM) Yeah i'm with the others that say, if anything, Italy feels even worse for not picking Rossi than Rossi does for trying to make the Italy team instead of ours. Both squads could certainly use a player like him though, especially the Italians apparently. Imagine how much stronger the US team would be right now it Rossi and Subotic chose to represent the US and Davies never got hurt. I know, other countries suffer injuries (and worse ones) too but it's interesting to think about
  11. I have Slovakian heritage so I'm always happy when they do well, although I never expected them to take down Italy today.
  12. Buh-bye Italy Wonder if Giuseppe Rossi is currently regretting his decision...
  13. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 09:56 PM) Marlins cut Pinto, I would take him over Williams right now. Agreed. He could also be stretched into a long man role like Carrasco last year as well.
  14. It's official USA-Ghana England-Germany Honestly, best case scenario IMO. Ghana has players who can score but they havent all tournament. And Essien is out. They are susceptible on the back end so I could definitely see a somewhat open game with them
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 03:59 PM) It's looking like this will happen. Serbia down 2-0 to the Aussies. Germany up by 1 on Ghana. Unless Germany scores two more goals, it's looking like we're playing Ghana. If Ghana ties it up we're playing Germany though FYI
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 12:35 PM) 8 years ago they faced Germany in the quarterfinals, lost in a heartbreaker where we outplayed the Germans but the German goal keeper was a tank. Prior to this team, I believe that team was the best team in US history (from a pure talent standpoint). There was a also a german handball on the goal line (Torsten Frings?) that kept a US tying goal out that wasn't called. But if Oliver Kahn isnt the goalie the US would have advanced to the semi-finals for sure.
  17. Actually, i'd prefer Serbia win to top the group and Germany/Ghana draw so we'd face Ghana in the second round. I want nothing to do with the Serbs
  18. By the way, this thread title sounds like an 80's grunge metal band
