Anyone ever play Math Blaster? It was awesome I also loved Chips Challenge. My dad actually beat the game once a long time ago and kept a chart of all the passwords
  4. Ive heard that a bunch of times and i still dont understand what he is saying when he says "they have given them permission to go down there and shoot us" WTF is that supposed to mean?
  5. My mini has worked great so far. But just in the last couple of days my battery only works half way. When it gets to about the halfway mark it says "Low Battery" and shuts off
  6. QUOTE(the southside tiger @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 06:48 PM) Would he really nominate someone with no experience to the top spot? To me, it seems more logical that Scalia gets the position. Plus im pretty sure the supreme court would have to agree on the appointment. If i was on the court, I dont think I want an outsider to jump right in as cheif justice. I would want someone with experiance to have the job. But I dont know anything at all about John Roberts and maybe he is someone that they would trust to do the job.
  7. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 08:19 PM) Gunmen Attack Contractors on La. Bridge Sep 04 7:08 PM US/Eastern NEW ORLEANS Police shot and killed at least five people Sunday after gunmen opened fire on a group of contractors traveling across a bridge on their way to make repairs, authorities said. Deputy Police Chief W.J. Riley said police shot at eight people carrying guns, killing five or six. Fourteen contractors were traveling across the Danziger Bridge under police escort when they came under fire, said John Hall, a spokesman for the Army Corps of Engineers. They were on their way to launch barges into Lake Pontchartrain to help plug the breach in the 17th Street Canal, Hall said. None of the contractors was killed, Hall said. The bridge spans a canal connecting Lake Pontchartrain and the Mississippi River. No other details were immediately available WTF
  8. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 09:45 AM) OK, they start walking. Where do they sleep, with no money for inflated hotel rooms? They cannot carry a lot of food, so how do they eat? Stores and restaurants would be closed within walking distance. Would you leave the shelter of your home to go walking in a hurricane? How far can you walk in one day? I understand there were alot of poor people who couldnt leave, but im saying there were also people who could easliy leave but didnt want to and are now probably lying about it to TV reporters to make everyone feel bad for them.
  9. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 02:10 AM) This made my night, too! Have you seen any numbers on how many people stayed because they couldnt leave, and because they didnt want to? I know I havent, and no one will. This is America, it is never our fault for anything. People who could have left but decided to stay are now saying how they couldnt leave because they were too poor. No one is gunna go on TV and say "You know what, i made a mistake. I should have left when I had the chance but I decided to stay so I am facing the consequences" and even if someone did say that to a reporter, there is no way in hell they would put it on TV.
  10. http://www.opinioneditorials.com/guestcont...n_20050903.html NUKE, you should get a laugh out of this article like I did.
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 12:11 AM) This WaPo piece will probably shape the discussion for the next 24 hours. You know what the best news in that piece may very well be? The fact that someone finally turned to the guy who had FEMA running so damn well during the Clinton years and got him back involved. During the Clinton years FEMA never had to deal with anything HALF as big as this project.
  12. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 11:50 PM) Yep, the whole damn thing is Bush's fault. ALL of it. That motherf***ing prick asshole. How dare he f***ing breathe while he's taking a s*** so that people can second guess his every move. It was his responsibility to land Air Force One in new orleans, get everyone aboard and take off right as the storm hit.
  13. I have a feeling Scalia will get the cheif justice spot.
  14. http://www.chicagogasprices.com/ This shows you the cheapest and highest gas prices around chicago. I dont know where any of the cheap ones are but the 3rd highest (tied for highest price) one is a Gas City at 131st and Lagrange, which is right by my house. I actually just got home from getting my car washed there and noticed it was really high so i checked and someone reported it already.
  15. Outside of the store where i work, this group of women started a small drive to collect stuff for hurricane relief and it was 100 times better than they expected. People where coming in and buying hundreds of dollars worth of diapers, soap, water etc. for the people it was crazy .It was very nice to see.
  16. CNN is reporting the Astrodome isnt letting anyone in and there are no where near the 25K they said they could take in. They also reported a death has occured inside.
  17. QUOTE(winodj @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) The head of FEMA is in Washington D.C. Michael Chertoff, the head of Homeland Security, denied the existence of the 15,000+ at the convention center as of 4pm today on NPR. Still, i doubt he would deny it if he knew it was there. He probably has a s*** load of things to deal with and he never heard about it, or forgot about it.
  18. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 07:13 PM) Do they not watch television..?? Probably not, I would imagine they have been concentrated on getting people off rooftops and such and arent sitting around watching tv. Not to mention the power is out
  19. This all reminds me of the opening scene in blackhawk down for some reason.
  20. Some customer i had last night told me it was ridiculous that they drove the prices this high because the oil they was slowed by the hurricane wont be getting here for another couple months, so the prices should be going up then and we should be paying however much it cost back when the current gas was bought, which kind of makes sense but i have no idea how this stuff works.
  21. I couldnt get a car till I got a job. I turned 16 in june, got my car in october
  22. I saw a story on CNN this morning with this lady in new orleans crying with her kids saying that during the eye, her husband jumped on his bike to ride over to her moms house to see if she was ok, and now no one can find him. Now that is very sad and all, but what was the guy thinking? Why didnt they get together with the mom to weather the storm with each others in the first place. Then he trys to ride across town to see if she is ok during the short break...how stupid.
  23. I got this from the CNN article on the story I feel bad for the guy, but he put it on himself not evacuating the city when he had the chance.
