  1. Liam Hendriks to Twins. i hope he gets his career back on track and that we can go against him in meaningful games one day
  2. lol im now remembering i started this thread title in caps because i literally was excited
  3. ok, so say we signed Zach Littell. What would be an expected years/price on that?
  4. Wonder if the Pirates come to talk to us since they keep striking out in FA. And we have a few 3B options to mention to them.. Mead. Sosa if he counts as 3b
  5. Jordan Hicks has OK peripherals. Those saying he's bad may want to buckle up for the type of guy we're actually going to get then.. which may be like German Marquez level. Beyond Hicks though I really like the idea that we are open to taking on another team's money and then getting sweeteners in the deal. That is big-boy organization behavior. Dodgers do this regularly to just keep piling on value upon value.
  6. Heyman: The White Sox are also in the starter market after saving $22M on Luis Robert Jr. Mets, Yankees counting themselves out in Tarik Skubal talks
  7. i dont expect Murakami was paid for by this trade. There was a long period of time between Murakami signing and this move. If Robert was to be salary dumped to pay for it, the Robert trade wouldve happened that same day. Luis couldve gotten offseason-injured in December and you'd have gotten nothing. So at the very least it was not a mandate to dump $ It makes me think some will be put back into the roster right now, if not all. a pitcher and a OF.
  8. because we spent the money on Murakami with a special extension from Jerry... this now means the RF is Kelenic. Clear as day. And Pereira. just little bits to round things out but we are now set
  9. Could also do it the other way where another team takes money but we load it up with sweeteners going the other way. Like if Boston loves Sosa, for instance. Or if someone likes Ramos or something else i'm not seeing.
  10. Probably a topic many of you will laugh off or not even click into. But it's possible he could go somewhere if we take back a similarly bloated contract. He's owed money for two more years but the second year is slightly lighter. I wonder also if we would still have some spending room for this coming year, and we could use it on this kind of trade, take back more money than we're giving out, and thus take back some goodies from the other team to make it worthwhile. We've shown we'll take your posthype/blocked prospects. Cardinals and Red Sox have helpful hitters they could be trying to get rid of. Yoshida for one could be someone who is a Mune buddy. Arizona Eduardo Rodriguez is a similar bad contract. To do these i think to be attractive in this kind of thing we financially have to give a little extra, but we are behaving a little differently than years' past so ..who knows. What destinations have (1) a bad contract to give us back, but also (2) -- and this is tougher to find -- actually have a need for anything Beni provides? LH/mostly DH?
  11. Bleday has perfect defensive profile for a corner. you could put him in CF just to fill some time in '26 but it'd be nice if '26 has some competitiveness since i suffered so long just now and as a result stare at my family with eyes of hate(daily)
  12. You wanna be the Rays? Then you'd trade Robert now. They are always moving talent while the talent interests the league. They dont care if the guy looks good on a bobblehead promotion. When assets are offered up, that guy is gone.
  13. Levine was marched out there to say his one or two sentences about this topic. If you listened to the rest of Inside the Clubhouse though they talked at length about how the Sox arent signing anyone that is gonna be a 3 year impact or a guy you establish as a core guy. Even in the Levine phrasing itself, wishfully everyone is ignoring the part where he says he's 'heard a little talk about__' I think to get its own thread something like this should at its core have an actual reported rumor, and this doesnt even have that.
  14. it's crazy to think about how recently McKenzie and Manoah were on top of the pitching world
  15. i feel like Rosenthal is putting this out there because buyers want it out there. But really i dont see any evidence of what Ken is saying.. for a few years now teams have been really reticent to trade top prospects. Even for Crochet, we had to take a catcher and an injured guy to get Top 100 guys. Teams now believe other teams are too good at evaluating their guys. Maybe we taught them that in the Semien and Tatis debacles
