  1. catcher's interference? I just turned the game on
  2. I enjoyed this tweet from the guy. "We were expected to be good and completely fucking floundered...now everyone thinks we're bad and thus we're going to be good". I dunno if the brothers are the same way in this regard, I'd only note that the grass is not always greener. None of these buffoons should 'own' a baseball team.
  3. This is pretty good, I don't hate it, but Kansas City is not a southern city and Pittsburgh is not a New England/eastern seaboard one. They're both midwestern cities. Pittsburgh is closer, culturally and geographically, to Cleveland than it is Philadelphia. Those mountains make a difference. Denver is obviously the west. AL South seems cobbled together with "leftovers" in this example. The NL South looks pretty good to me if including the addition of Nashville. But there's something cultural at stake. Toronto could just as easily join a 'Great Lakes' division (plus Minneapolis can tag along because I guess they're called the 'Minnesota' Twins and Duluth is an important Great Lakes city, woulda been more important than Chicago before the railroads). That could be a fun way to do divisions. Maybe we don't even need divisions anymore. It's not like teams play their division very much anymore. Or that it's a particularly historical tradition. That scheduling change only bothered me because it changed playoff implications, not because I desire to watch Kansas City and Cleveland a bunch. It was probably a good change to make now that I've thought about it for a couple years. Plus I kinda like all the Central teams, people in Detroit aren't my rivals.
  4. Birmingham game tied 2-2 going into extras...quick 5 runs given up by Coffey. Looking like Braden's hitting streak will come to an end. He attended the same high school as me, it would be awesome if he makes it to the Sox and performs! Cody Bellinger and Patrick Murphy (Blue Jays pitcher out of the league after 35 appearances, now in Korea) attended the same time as me (graduated two years after). Needless to say, I was never playing center field for that team. The local JuCo team is pretty good too. James Pazos played there but transferred to University of San Diego. And Andre Ethier, how could I forget about him.
  5. Still waiting for the Sox version of C. Boos to drop a song with...whatever rapper is popular now
  6. He's an OBP machine and good defender. He might be a starter. I agree with you in the sense that he's probably a good trade chip when paired with other lower tier prospects; better than Banks certainly. A different rebuilding team might trade for him with, you know, 5 other players. 105:82 BB/K ratio is pretty good. Absolutely no power. He's probably Nicky Lopez.
  7. Bergolla looks 'ok'. Prefer that sort of deal to the reverse. ie Fajardo for Booser. Hill just sucked. Yet good with the Yankees.
  8. Booser for sure. I thought Gilbert was a waiver pickup, but I guess he was acquired in a trade...hmm. The guy they traded him for is 23 at A+ and has a 6.50 ERA though.
  9. I liked the pick at the time which is proving to be pretty dumb in hindsight
  10. Giving Wikelman a second inning was definitely a choice. Brooks should've made that play though. Those last three runs were preventable if anyone could play defense.
  11. He's supposed to have some power but hasn't shown it (17 in 1200 PA,down from 40 in 700 PA in college)...maybe MLB unlocks it like it did with Colson. Just kidding, he's probably a bust but has looked better at Charlotte than Birmingham.
  12. Bad throw, bad timing. Nothing Judge did besides have tree trunks for legs.
  13. Also: Montgomery (side) remains out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees. is 'side' just a euphemism for back? I don't recall how he got injured
  14. Robertson has been on the MLB team but hasn't played! Should've put him out there instead of Taylor. Dom is also looking OK lately. Agreed, give these guys a look. s%*#, I'd even give Jacob Gonzalez a cup of coffee...unlikely to happen.
  15. I think he meant Braden. All these zoomers have pretty much the same name. Jaden, Jayden, Braden, Aidan, Caden, Kaiden, Hayden, Raiden (I hope)
  16. speaking of Milwaukee, they signed Fedde for some reason. He picked up the L the other night (didn't pitch terrible) in a long relief role.
