  1. Wouldn’t Hicks have been available after only 1 inning Sat, and an off day in between
  2. Glad it worked out, but wasn’t a fan of bringing in Taylor, after 4 innings Saturday. I felt Burke was cruising and only let up the soft oppo hit. Would have let him face Adell, who he owned tonight. Taylor let up a lot of hard hit balls tonight, to the same team that just faced him on Saturday.
  3. Nobody else? Our farm system is that weak? Maybe Irquidy could have eaten some innings yesterday without blowing the lead. Oh wait, never mind.
  4. How is it that McDougle and Thorpe have not been called up? Is our system so weak that we don’t have any pitching that can at least help a staff that is in desperation mode? We don’t have AAA or AA pitchers who could have helped protect a 6 run lead?
  5. Accepting the Sox collapse as tolerable, just because we came into the season with low expectations, is faulty thinking. Situations change and expectations change. The fact of the matter is, we had a lead in the division at the trade deadline, in a winnable division and made no moves to help us out, despite warnings from everywhere that we needed dependable pitching depth in both the rotation and pen. The starters who got us thru the first half were already at their historic innings limits. We are now experiencing exactly what was warned about. The reasoning was very similar to what we heard from the last regime during the last rebuild….dont mortgage the future, for today, in the hopes of a prolonged run of success. Well, opportunities for this franchise do not come often and nothing is guaranteed. Show me the sustained success from the last rebuild. I’m not saying to go all in, as I don’t think we were built to win a championship this year, but we should have made a better effort to at least address the concerns on this team and improve our chances to win the division and get this young team some playoff experience. Now it looks like the experience they walk away with is a complete collapse and depressing off-season.
  6. Actually the middle of the end. The beginning of the end was 20 games ago. The end of the end will be after the Detroit series.
  7. I’m not convinced Vargas knew the count on that 2nd strike.
  8. He hit that almost as hard as TA’s jaw.
  9. Is it any wonder, you are too cool to fool. Pham, Pham, Pham Pham
  10. An apology senator. This committee owes Pham an apology!
  11. Roger’s only hitting into 1 double play is very optimistic.
  12. Isn’t this a Rheinsdorf dream season. Compete all year, but finish in 2nd place. I can’t remember the exact quote, but it was something along those lines.
  13. I’m on the edge of rooting for a lockout.
  14. Gonna suck, closing out the season against the Rox, to see if we can get to 78 wins.
  15. Of course, now we get Detroit on a 6 game win streak.
  16. He almost swung at that too
  17. You mean like make sure he does not procreate?
  18. Wow. I wonder what it feels like to be on the receiving end of a deadline addition actually come thru?
  19. I’m actually considering something that I would never have thought possible 1 month ago. With the way this season is wrapping up, I may actually be less optimistic going into next season, than I was coming into this season.
  20. Does anyone else see this 3 way race for the team home run lead as problematic? Sure seems like all 3 have only one thing in mind, stepping into the box.
  21. What ever happened to keeping your eye on the ball til contact and taking the ball the other way? These Sox hitters are looking in the pull side bleachers on every swing.
  22. The $&@? eating grin in the post game presser is fireable enough.
