  1. Why would the Sox dump their young and cheap first round pick and who would they start at first base instead?
  2. Collapse from what? He never had a bat to begin with. ?
  3. It’s more a concern to me because he acquired some really bad players via free agency, which is an indictment on what he apparently values in a player. I’d give his trades an A and his free agent acquisitions an F.
  4. He has good stuff. It will be interesting to see if the Sox move him back to a starter.
  5. Sorry, brain fart. I was day-dreaming of a roster without Benintendi.
  6. Yep, the years are the problem. What team would want four more years of him?
  7. Fletcher looks like a perfect leadoff hitter. Even Grifol can’t mess this up, right? Actually, Grifol will probably bat Nicky Lopez at leadoff.
  8. Yep, the Sox need to hope he has a great comeback season and eat some of his deal to move his ass. We can’t have 4 more years of Benintendi.
  9. The Benintendi contract is looking so much worse now. Would like to see a Fletcher—Robert—DeLoach outfield sooner rather than later.
  10. I don’t think he’s just a glove-first RF. He can play CF and has .300 hitting potential with a high OBP.
  11. The other trade for DeLoach probably proves this isn’t a concern. He looks like a true lefty power bat.
  12. Agreed, but you make a trade like this all day every day with the flakiness of relievers from year to year, as well as Santos’s ghost injury.
  13. To do the same thing the Sox did last year. Turn a guy into a tradeable asset with one good season and move him for a nice return like this one. Hopefully they can do the same thing with Leasure next season.
  14. OF defense should be amazing now. Benintendi — Robert — Fletcher/Pillar
  15. Hah, I feel the opposite. These two trades today have given me a little more faith in Getz as a GM. Dude needs to stay away from the free agent dumpster diving and make more trades. I guess I don’t see much in Mena. Doubt he ever makes the majors.
  16. Sure does. Similar swing. Looks like he has some sneaky power and will pull a lot of liners down the first base line for doubles and triples like Eaton did.
  17. Adam Eaton wasn’t bad for a little guy. https://venomstrikes.com/posts/diamondbacks-trade-dominic-fletcher-to-white-sox-for-cristian-mena-01hnrg4qp321
  18. Would be nice to see him rake in AAA. He could always replace Eloy at DH and be a part-time outfielder. Then, his defense wouldn’t be as much of a concern.
  19. Arizona Diamondbacks trade Dominic Fletcher to Chicago White Sox for pitching prospect
  20. Yeah, looks like possibly 10-15 HR power.
  21. Yep. Pretty obvious now. The reports that the Sox didn’t like his work ethic/attitude must be true.
  22. Fletcher. He’s 26 and ready right now. Dude could easily be a .300 hitter.
