MLB Franchise Valuations for 2026 - Sox are 17th
WhiteSox2023 replied to 77 Hitmen's topic in Pale Hose Talk
You know Jerry smokes a cigar and ponders why he can’t have two terrible teams that never win anything but both make money hand over fist just because they have cool logos and had some good teams ages ago. -
What a shameful way to end that game 2-1.

Teel injured in WBC - Grade 2 hamstring strain, out 4-6 weeks

And to expand on this, I’m sure there are a few teams that would rather have Lee as their backup catcher than whomever they currently have, but would they take the chance to claim Lee after only a couple weeks into the season while needing Lee to learn an all new pitching staff? Perhaps he could be slipped through waivers for this reason. I love the idea of retaining all four catchers going forward — Teel, Quero, Lee and Romo. Ironically, Hahn is responsible for both Quero and Lee but Getz did a good job of acquiring Teel and Romo. This has to be the best the Sox have looked at the catcher position in ages, especially if they can manage to keep all four guys. -

Obviously the injury sucks because Teel won’t be ready for opening day. But couldn’t the blessing in disguise be that Lee makes the roster to start the season instead of being dumped for nothing and is then possibly slipped through waivers and outrighted to Charlotte once Teel is ready? -
Fire James Kruk.

This is why Getz was wise to keep Lee and add any good catcher talent he saw available (Romo). -
Kelenic passed him up on the depth chart cuz he’s an absolute stud.

Is this true? I thought that one parent has to either have been born there OR be a citizen there. -

That’s good. He could easily lose that 20 pounds over the course of the season so hopefully he keeps eating that chicken and pasta. He looked too skinny last year. -

Yep. My son played an entire first half of football with a knee injury. He wasn’t pulled until the team’s trainer checked him out at half time. They all still thought it was just a grade 1 or 2 knee sprain. The trainer told him to ice it, see if it gets better after a few days, and then have a doctor check it out if it doesn’t. He walked around on it for a week until a doctor checked him out and told him he had a full tear of his ACL and damaged meniscus and needed knee surgery. -

It must be strange to be a Sox fan and also watch your local team be run similarly and acquire pretty much every Sox castoff they can get their hands on. You are living in the baseball Twilight Zone. At least the Sox appear to be on the rise. Not so sure about the Angels. -

As much as I like Jack Reacher, I haven’t seen that movie yet. Waiting for the Peaky Blinders movie. -

That is apparently what he reported. I’m hoping they don’t go back to the well with Crosby even at a lesser cost. -

He has already had surgery and been given a cybernetic leg, so yes he was. -
Was this made public at all? I don’t recall anything. What did he do?
-
Quicker admission than Getz thinking Acuna was a switch hitter. 🤣

Kind of a blah article with all the questions still in the air but this was interesting. Sounds like the Sox offered Vargas a long-term deal with a hometown discount but he turned it down.

Also, shouldn’t he be more irrationally angry at Teel for deciding to play for Team Italy and then getting injured? -

I also thought that was obvious by what @Chisoxfn was trying to say. I guess not. -

It’s like a hammy pull. No one is thinking he needs his leg amputated. It’s a sport in which injuries happen, just like in ST. It sucks but it is what it is. -
Brutal strikeout. Do something Judge.
