So….I was asked what I thought was fair. I used the trade calculator as a guideline for value. I know it’s not perfect but nothing is and there are guys it undervalues like Santader at 3 WAR and a $12 million salary only being worth 4.4 if a win is worth $8 million. Hays is under control for 2 more years was worth 2.5 WAR, Urias was a GG 3 B and worth 1.8 WAR with 3 years of control, and Ortiz is the #50 prospect in baseball. your colleague called this package our “castoffs” which is asinine. Cowser is worth more than Woo by 8 or 9 points. I just used that as a barometer. You have a right to feel differently. No harm no foul.

I think you guys are going to end up being disappointed with the actual deal. Sooner or later Getz is going to either accept what’s on the table, compromise, or hold Cease later. The Orioles learned that lesson when they held Machado too long.

Ok so Hays, Urias fill those two holes. If they aren’t interested in Ortiz then I’d offer Norby and an additional prospect. Or Cowser for Woo and an additional prospect Emerson, Gonzales, or Locklear.

Hays is the veteran I chose and Urias. So I decided on Hays, Ortiz, Urias. But, I’d sub Norby for Urias if it got the deal done.

The stuff I read said SS, DH, and COF . The place to start would be to see if they are interested in any of our veterans. Say Ortiz, Hays, and Urias or Norby.

We root for a team the hasn’t won a World Series since 1983. Thats had a bad owner for a long time. Plus had our tv market cut in half that basically made our owner cheap on top of everything else. There have been a few bright spots to keep us going and now some hints that the team might be sold soon.

Kremer has started 50+ games over the last two seasons. If you drop off his horrid start he’s a 3.5 ERA starter last year and in the 3.2-3.3 range. Right now he’s their 3rd starter and be counted on for 30 starts. I’m not counting on Means due to health and Wells has been excellent for half a season two straight years. But I really feel like a starter is needed. Personally I’m trying to make a deal with the Mariners for a young controllable starter and agree Cease to the Yankees is better for you guys.

I think that Getz has a certain amount of pressure to win when he trades Cease. I’m not pretending that I know what is going on. But, the asking price from the Reds that was leaked is ridiculous if it’s true. it will be interesting to see what the actual price is when/if a deal gets done.

Other places include Boxhill, Timbuktu,& Pappas. The latter has a location close to the airport as well.

I’ve seen Mustard on crackers and Mayo with a sprinkle of Old Bay on a sandwich. I personally don’t use sauce. By the way, I visited a Shula’s recently and they served a remoulade with their crab cake. The food was really good but that sauce was disgusting. Marylanders don’t put remoulade on their crab cakes. Sheets is the son of Larry a former Orioles who owns a batting cage business here. But, I doubt Elias cares about any of that. Anyway I know your joking LOL.

I hear you but I just gave you 4 names not in the top 20. Getz would gladly take 3 of those 4 in a trade for Cease. 2 of those names have been mentioned in rumors. I’m imagining he’d be all over Norby if he was a better defender. When Elias arrived our scouting and development group was barebones. We had done horrible at drafting even with top picks. Peter Angelos didn’t value those groups, international players, DR clinics etc. Elias has fixed all of that. I’m confident they will continue to find talent.

Why do you think Elias would want or care about Gavin Sheets? I’m sure you’re joking …. You can hope right. I hope for the winning powerball ticket Everytime the jackpot is over $250 million. I bet you can guess how that’s going ?

Well they have the #22, #32, and #34 picks. The Orioles seem to be really good at drafting. Remember Henderson wasn’t a 1st rounder, neither was Mayo, Ortiz, or Norby. I realize getting Hampton and Warren are better than McDermott and Povich but I don’t think it’s as bad as you think. I’d like to get Cease but the other guy really wants him. I posted that a Yankee deal could make way more sense if they can get Hampton and Warren plus. They are superior to McDermott and Povich. But, I suppose the other pieces would determine the better package. What if Getz could get both of those guys and Ortiz to play SS. How would that compare to the Yankees 2 and 1 of Jones/Dominquez/or Pereira?

He’s mentioned as a plus plus defender at SS. The only question was if his offense would play more than a utility player. He’s drastically improved over the past 2 years gaining 80 points in batting average and 100 points in OPS.

It’s an article about the teams needs for the offseason. Not really interested in the names attached if there were in the article. I’d assume that I could find information about the White Sox needs from a beat writer or here.

I actually saw some mention of a 3 teamer somewhere that had the Orioles, White Sox, and I believe the Mariners. Cease was going to them and the Orioles were getting one of their starters. Never like multi team deals as they are rare. But it was interesting.
