Jesus Christ Santiago is AWFUL.
-
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:46 PM) He can do it Are we talking minor or majors? That's important.
-
Get Santiago out now.
-
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:37 PM) No it's not. Thanks for proving me wrong.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:33 PM) Hector Santiago and Zach Stewart hate you for leaving them out of this. Beckham can stay in the majors for now. Good catch. So that's 24% of the team. I'm over Beckham.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:33 PM) I bet you can do the same exercise with every team in the central. That's a complete load of s*** and you know it.
-
Gordon Beckham, Brent Morel, Eduardo Escobar, and Tyler Flowers do not belong on a major league team. When 16% of your team doesn't even belong, you're in for a long season.

The real White Sox have finally shown up. It's going to be a long, long season.

Anyone know when McPherson will return from the DL?
-
QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ May 8, 2012 -> 07:36 PM) Balta absolutely took me to task this past offseason for dismissing the importance of Morel's last month of 2011. One of the rules in analyzing baseball statistics is to never, ever, make anything out of September performance.

"One big out." Hawk is treating the bottom of the 5th as the bottom of the 9th. Awesome. -

Cannot wait for the "THIS GAME IS OFFICIAL" line from Hawk. -

Holy hell the radar looks awful. Don't think this game is going to last more than six innings. -

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 7, 2012 -> 07:00 PM) We knew what we were getting with Flowers, he wasn't necessarily tearing the cover off the ball in the minors. Wait, what? He was killing the ball. Hell, his first and only year in Bham his OPS was .993. -

QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2012 -> 06:58 PM) I think we can all agree it would be great if Phegley can surpass Flowers on the organizational depth chart. Kinda crazy how terrible Flowers/Lillibridge/Gilmore have been this year. If Phegley hits .300+ this year in Charlotte he'll probably get at least 200 AB next year. And Flowers will be all but done. -

QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2012 -> 06:40 PM) Flowers is 0-8 with 5K vs RHP this year. When AJP is brought back this offseason, Flowers has no one to blame but himself, as he never made any adjustments to what MLB pitchers are doing against him. Just like with Morel, there has to be serious doubts as to whether or not he's capable of starting in the majors. He's not. This has been another edition of easy answers to simple questions. -
E: Martinez, O 4 (8, fielding, missed catch, fielding, fielding), Kuhn 4 (4, fielding, throw, fielding, fielding) Hahahahahahahahaha.
-
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 11:28 PM) Wilkins went 0/3, but had 3 walks. Batting only .169, but OBP is .317. If this guy can start getting his hits, he would be a .400+ OBP guy easily. But he isn't, so who cares?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 08:40 AM) Is there any way to even that out for ballpark factors, though? Putting those numbers up in Birmingham and the Southern League is more impressive to me. A lot of those XB hits will fly out of USCF in the summertime. Not so in BIRM. Yes, there are park factors for each minor league park. Here's what the internet yields (2010 factors, there have to be updated 2011 somewhere) http://www.baseballthinkfactory.org/oracle...rk_multipliers/

Yes, it's OK to start getting excited about Mitchell. He's averaging 1 K/4.5 PA, which is the best of his career. He's about to 100 PA, which is about the time one should actually take season stats at almost face value. Great to see.
-
It's clear as day that Reed should be the closer. If you've given up 4 HR in 6.1 IP your ass should be in the minors. It's a f***ing joke that Santiago is the closer.
-
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 10:03 PM) Starting to get a little bit excited about Mitchell. If that strikeout percentage can hover close to 20% I'd be very happy. It already is. Using K/AB isn't optimal considering it penalizes taking walks (or getting hit I guess). Mitchell has struck out 20 times in 84 plate appearances, or a 24% rate.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 02:34 AM) He is too old for the league, he NEEDS to be pushed to AA if the Sox value him as a prospect at all. Breaking news, they don't. He's almost 25. Organizational filler.
