btw i really haven't had total access to the puter all day, but i will respond to you in more of a complete detail.

Yeah his 8-2 record and 3.86 ERA blew ass last year. Thank god he is gone. He was a mediocre reliever who's arm was falling off....an ERA over 3.50 as a reliever is mediocre. I could have stood him another year, but the fact that he made about $2.5 mill next year bugged me....why in the hell would you pay $2.5 mill for a reliever not much better than mediocrity(if he is better than mediocrity)? I'd rather pay $1 mill for a guy like Tom Gordon or pay close to nothing for a guy like Matt Ginter even than spend $2.5 mill on Osuna. even tho i supported and like osuna, i love the trade and with the expected signing of grodon, make the trade even more of a steal. anything that make the club better and not giving up too much is a plus in my book. now we need a cf'er.

why? I can only guess because that was one of the dumbest posts ever. Care to explain just about all of those because if you think half of those you put neutral too are actually neutral than you are a moron. this is not in ref to kemper or anyone but a statement. people really need to get a sense of humor. cmon, my rep i hope is one not to start trouble but to have humor. ok, my sense of humor is quirky and sometime my meaning is lost and for that, i say oh well.

having to deal with klayton, i am surprise that kw would go and get another character. however, maybe a change of scenery would be good. that being said, if he starts up, i hope he will be cut or sent to the minors.
-
the performance as you said is not kw fault, however when you are responsible for acquiring players whose performance does not equal the performance level of the person you are trading, then its kw fault for lack of judgement or ability to perform his job. to back up what LDF said...if we didnt hold a GM responsible for the play of the players he traded for..then hawk harrelson would still be our GM the real question or statement should be, "we are giving him tooooo much credit"

Your expectations of RR aren't too high. LOL! From what I've heard, he's the real deal when it comes to closing games. I questioned KW acquiring Koch for three years..... I don't think it is going to take RR 3 years to dominate in the minors considering he is being groomed as a closer. If Koch does as advertised, RR will have no choice but to be set-up man for awhile. Then, what do we do with Marte? thats why i dont think we will sign koch long term...i belive if this season is a flop(knock on wood) koch will be the first one to go at the trade deadline..if we suck it up this year no way we go to arbitration with koch...by next year he could be looking at 8 mil in arbitration well i guess i am the minority here b/c i am not too sold on ring being the pitcher everybody raves about.

i already mailed it to BA and Baseball Prosoectus.

is available and is rumored to be heading to flubbies, according to the trib. i wonder what it would take to see him in a sox uni.
-
according to the trib, the sox offered more than what mil offered. the interesting twist is a speculation that nl pit is now avoiding the al. this was address some time ago from another board. i wonder if that talk is true.
-
HOLY s***!!!! my question is the sCrubs have more latin players on the team, cruz etc... so why are they not talking or maybe supporting this report. post this on many mlb msg board.
-
and what are we to do with rauch who might be ready. i have never been a roger fan. do you honestly think he is that good, what kind of a win lost record do you see him post.
-
i can live with what we have, but i would be happy if we get another pit. however we need a cf'er. i hope we can get a servicable cat, a tom lampkin is intriguing.

so until til how are we to judge him? on the teams record???...its dropped off every year since he took over...we can make all the excuses we want about injuries and such but other teams over come them...minnesota overcame injuries to their top 3 starters last year...right now he is a failure..100%..the team has not responded under him at all... i rather judge him on who he gets, the trades he makes and the failures and mistakes he makes. his success has been limited but by far the diaz and colon trades are his best. does that make up for his mistakes. no but it counts against them.

so until til how are we to judge him?

as killa said and which i agree with, i am giving kw credit. however i am i don't think he is the second coming of the best gm out there. he did a good job what more do you want?

interesting article from usa today. The .500 White Sox finished 13 1/2 games behind the Twins last season, but now the Twins' biggest advantage, starting pitching, isn't a certainty. Chicago's first four — Colon, All-Star lefty Mark Buehrle, Jon Garland and Danny Wright — won a combined 65 games last season. The Twins have Brad Radke, Eric Milton, Joe Mays, Rick Reed and Kyle Lohse, but if the pitching is even, the Twins have taken a step back. That's because the White Sox have an incredible lineup, one that is better than the Twins'. The White Sox were third in the American League last season in runs scored with 856, trailing only the New York Yankees (897) and Boston Red Sox (859). The White Sox have a motivated DH, Frank Thomas, eager to return to the elite level of the league's hitters. They have outfielder Magglio Ordonez (.320 average with 38 home runs, 137 RBI), first baseman Paul Konerko (.304-27-104) and third baseman Joe Crede, a prospect who started to show he's for real at the end of last season. "The Colon trade was pretty good for the White Sox," said Twins assistant general manager Bill Smith. The Twins, on the other hand, have made no significant additions for 2003. White Sox catcher Sandy Alomar, who was a teammate of Colon's in Cleveland, said that Colon has developed into a dominant pitcher because he's learned, at age 29, to use his breaking pitches and changeups. "And he throws a 97 mile-per-hour fastball," Alomar says. "He's not a puppy anymore." Buehrle is one of the best lefties in baseball after winning 19 games with a 3.58 ERA last season. Wright was 14-game winner and Alomar says Wright made major improvements. "He throws 95 or 96 miles per hour and has a great sinker," Alomar says. "He doesn't hang as many pitches. His command still needs work." Garland, 12-12 last season, beat some of the best AL teams in the final two months, but Alomar says all he needs to do to be consistent is "learn to concentrate more and not lose focus. He always had one bad inning." Last season, the White Sox had Todd Ritchie (15 losses, 6.06 ERA) in their rotation. The White Sox's No. 5 starter could be yet another veteran secured in a trade or another prospect — maybe Jon Rauch, Gary Glover or Josh Stewart. The White Sox have also upgraded their bullpen this offseason, adding closer Billy Koch. Their lefty, Damaso Marte, has a chance to be good. Konerko and Alomar were surprised that their general manager, Ken Wiliams, was able to land Colon, especially after they heard that the Yankees and Red Sox were negotiating with the cost-cutting Montreal Expos. Colon adds $8.25 million to Chicago's payroll and when Williams approached chairman Jerry Reinsdorf about the deal, "There was no hesitation," Williams said. "Those teams usually get what they want," Konerko said. "I didn't see this coming. But I don't think Minnesota is done getting better. The Twins are not a final product. Last year, they won with two of their best pitchers injured." That would be Radke and Milton. Mays was injured, too. All told, they missed about 30 games because of injuries. The key for the Twins will be their offense. It faltered toward the end of the season, especially in the American League Championship Series vs. the Anaheim Angels. The Twins had injuries problems in the regular lineup, too. None of their infielders — Corey Koskie, Cristian Guzman, Luis Rivas or Doug Mientkiewicz — had their usual seasons. And, All-Star center-fielder Torii Hunter averaged .263 with nine home runs in the second half, compared to .306 and 20 in the first half. This year, the Twins are hoping that unproven Matt LeCroy can be a productive DH. If the Twins' offense improves and their pitching stays healthy, Minnesota have a good chance to repeat as the AL Central champion. The Twins are 25-13 head-to-head vs. the White Sox over the last two seasons, but Colon could help the White Sox turn those numbers around. What a difference a year makes. This time last season Cleveland was the anticipated powerhouse and not many experts would have predicted the first-place Twins being challenged by the second-place White Sox for the division title.

there seems to be some confusion on my part and a statement that kw said. according to kw, if i remember correctly, was after mont and colon since the winter meeting. however according to stark that never happen b/c he was after another pitcher. so was kw lying? http://espn.go.com/mlb/columns/stark_jayso...on/1494267.html
