QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 12, 2006 -> 08:19 PM) 6.54 ERA. Start number 7 out of what 30 or so? There is still how many starts left? Still early to feed him to the dogs don't you think?

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 12, 2006 -> 08:15 PM) Looks like last year was just a fluke season for Garland. I wouldn't say that just yet.

My iPod just crashed today... It's been freezing lately a lot and today when I turned it on it worked fine and then I switched songs, it froze and then gave me the stupid frown icon. I had about 4 gigs of music in it. -
Oh man thats not good. Get well soon ARow. As far as the trade Thome is just mashing and Anderson is coming around with just as good defense, but that doesn't mean you can't miss Aaron. The trade is definitley paying off, but Aaron was a great guy. Good luck on your recovery and your return Aaron.

I love Hermie, he did a great job last season, but even if he does come back how good will he be? I am definitley pulling for the man though.

They should have protested before the season started seeing how it was over already.

Once again showing what a class act he is like the time where a fan with a little boy had a heart attack and Griffey took him in the clubhouse and stuff to keep him away from all the drama. Jr's a great guy.

Charlie Haeger to likely start Wednesday
Whitewashed in '05 replied to wcw2323's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I agree with whats been said already. The sox pretty much know Contreras will miss his start Wednesday, but will not announce it so quickly. Even if he is okay we should all know ozzie by now, after some sort of injury to a player he will rest them an extra day after they are cleared to play. Considering Contreras is not just any player he most likely will miss Wednesdays start even if they say he's okay and I agree with that, no need to take chances. I just hope it isn't severe enough for it to linger around during the rest of the season. -

QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 8, 2006 -> 07:04 PM) Exactly what I was thinking, especially since Rotoworld is now saying we reported he had a MRI. Hopefully that is confirmed. Well he never confirmed it so that would be an error on them if it came out to be wrong. -

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ May 8, 2006 -> 04:43 PM) I know Cubs fans have to feel pretty good right now. I think the Angels and their fans are gonna be the ones feeling good damnit. -

Considering he's the best pitcher in baseball right now and he just signed a 3 year deal, I hope this is all just to make sure he gets more than enough rest. f***! -

So the only thing that's keeping this thread going is that Count might have a small ache in the back... -
QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 7, 2006 -> 04:57 PM) 38K in attendance for a game against Kansas City? That's just awesome. People like going to see games where theres almost a 100% chance of winning.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 5, 2006 -> 09:36 AM) Until the Twins learn how to develop young hitters at the major league level, they're not got going to get higher than 4th in the division for a while. And really considering where they were a few seasons back, that's quite depressing for a Twinkies fan. They sure develop some pitching though.

QUOTE(JimH @ May 5, 2006 -> 09:52 PM) Not sure I follow you here. Yeah he came on with a guy on first. Then the bunt, one out, runner at 2nd. They still had the lead at that point 2-1. He walked Graffanino, and then the bad pitch to Emil Brown, that tied the score. Jenks wasn't put in the best position for him to succeed. He came in with a runner on 1st who was bunted over to 2nd with only 1 out. It would have been hard for him to keep him from scoring even if he was throwing strikes. So the game could've been tied on a single. Not a bad thing if a closer allows a hit, but in the situation he was in it was a BS. I am not defending Jenks, but maybe had he started the inning he wouldn't of blown the save.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 5, 2006 -> 09:51 PM) I'm surprised it isn't uglier to be honest. This is one of those games that hurt like crazy as a fan. I feel like throwing up right now and I'm not usually a person who goes nuts after a loss. Tonight just feels bad. Yeah same here. I have been really good about losing this season because of how good we have started, but tonight hurt.
-
Well if management saw anything today is that we cannot succeed with our bullpen no matter if ozzie did make a wrong decision which he did. Give Nelson a little to get back into the swing of things and get him up here. All while finding someone else that can get outs for us.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 5, 2006 -> 09:44 PM) If he hasnt, then its another bad call. Jenks was awful tonight, and thats going to happen from time to time, just is. However, I like when a manager puts his closer in the best position to succeed, and tonight, as well as other nights, Ozzie has not done that for Bob. Prior to tonight, Bobby has proved that the ninth should he his. Exactly. This wasn't the first time Bobby has had to clean up someone elses mess. We had a ONE run lead and once you let that leadoff man get on its gonna be hard to hold them down. Bobby came in with no outs and a runner on 1st. A bunt got him to second with 1 out. Not his fault the game was tied at the piont. After that yes he f***ing sucked. Give the ball to Jenks in the ninth and let him f***ing blow it if anything.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 5, 2006 -> 09:38 PM) One person I'm not blaming for this is Matt. He did his job and he's been pretty solid, he just shouldn't have been out there in the 9th, he's not a closer. Everyone takes the blame. As a pitcher you're supposed to record outs anytime you are called on, no matter what inning.
-
Not only that, but we should've taken advantage of Sanders and Sweeney being absent.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 5, 2006 -> 09:35 PM) People laugh at Jeff Nelson, but this guy has a hand full of rings, has pitched on the game's grandest stages, and is murder on right-handers. We'll see how many are laughing when he develops into a go-to guy in the late innings. With the bozos down in the pen right now, just Nelsons experience with decent stuff can get the job done better.
