So we get Alexei, AJ and Uribe up against Nathan? Great. Pop out, ground out and K.

9/24 Gamethread: Chicago @ Minnesota
How much you want to bet if our 23-year-old reliever, let's say Russell, comes in, he would blow up? This team has a bunch of pathetic ball players who bring no energy. At least the Twins players want it, let them have it. This season is over as I see it. No way the Sox win tomorrow with all the momentum on the Twins side.

9/24 Gamethread: Chicago @ Minnesota
The sick part of me wants this team to blow the lead and look like a bunch of little girls and laugh all along the way. The other half, the more normal, is sick to my stomach watching this crap.

f*** this s***. Let the team that wants the division most have it. Clearly the Twins. Thank god I can't watch tomorrow night because tomorrow is the last day we are in first place.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 10:16 AM) Attention Mark Buerhle. Do not throw a curveball to Justin. Throw him sliders away, and put him away. Can you post one for Kubel? I'd like to see if throwing him hanging curveballs middle-in is a good idea or bad idea?

9/24 Gamethread: Chicago @ Minnesota
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 07:45 AM) Is anyone else way less nervous after last night? I find myself no where near as bad as I was yesterday. I wasn't nervous yesterday, I was excited. Today, I am very nervous. Does anyone else have a weird quesynous (sp?) in their stomach? I know it's not healthy to be this invested in a team, but I can't help it. If they lose tomorrow, I fear what kind of things I will feel. Just win MB and Paulie better come to play cause we need him.

9/23 - Sox @ Min - 7:10 PM CDT - WCIU
As Glen Quagmire would say, "Gigity gigity." Let's start this one out good. Javy has the best stuff on the staff, time he shows up in a big game. A win in game one would set the tone and send the message that it's the Sox division. A win in game one would also demoralize the Twins.

Minnesota has changed their rotation plans
QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 03:31 PM) Baker vs. Vazquez Blackburn vs. Buehrle Slowey vs. Floyd The Buehrle start might be the most important start in my opinion. I think we have to get that game because I have a feeling Baker is going to beat Vazquez and it will be important to even the series. I also think that is the one matchup we should win. I think Floyd should beat Slowey, but Slowey has been bad recently I just have an odd feeling he's going to break out of it come out on top, plus the Sox are 2-3 against the Twins when I go to see them and I'm going on Thursday, so maybe I'm a jinx, haha. First start is the most important IMO. Set the tone and start a message. Javy can shut down opponents unlike anyone on our roster. Time he do it in a BIG BIG game. He better show some guts.

Lefty Floyd looks to follow in Buehrle's footsteps
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 04:53 PM) Someone should be fired for a mistake as simple and harmless as that? yeah that's where you just tell the person, don't be such a moron. You get fired for much worse stuff.

Top 10's after 2k8
Am I the only doubting Nevin Griffin will do anything ever? He hasn't been healthy since we drafted him and now he is going into his third year of pro ball with a total of like 11 innings in his career.

Pioneer League Top 20 Prospects
Age hurt both of them apparently because their ERAs are great and terrific peripherals. I am not discouraged, both have mid-rotation starter written all over them. Granted, I haven't see them pitch, so I really can't comment on their stuff, but BA seems to like both of their skill sets. Add their pitches with the numbers, and there is plenty of reason to think they can have successful ML careers.

Appalachian League Top 20 Prospects
I am excited about tomorrow's Pioneer League. I think both Carter and Hudson could be in the top 10. Kuhn also should make the top 20 based purely on stats. But he is a guy who will get the usually "gets the most out of his non-existent baseball package." But Sox should have three guys in there and then with Kanny, probably 2-3 more.

9/16: White Sox vs Yankees, 6:05PM
Nice job Gavin. Way to pitch over the bloop and Uribe's bad D.

9/16: White Sox vs Yankees, 6:05PM
Gavin really needs to learn to pitch over mistakes and bloop singles.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 04:16 PM) Jr. hits .340 vs. Pettite in 50 ab's, Thome .240 in 25 ab's. While that may be true, this is not the KGJ that played against Pettite during his AL days, this is the slow bat, pull conscious Griffey now. So those career numbers really shouldn't matter at this point in his career. Regardless, Thome is the better option at DH every night and against any match-up. And I am not so sure KGJ beats Thome by that much in a foot race.

9/16: White Sox vs Yankees, 6:05PM
QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 05:03 PM) Griffey over Thome...... Owens over Wise......... The Griffey one perplexes me the most. I think KG has like the 3rd worst batting average in the league against lefties or something really bad.

9/16: White Sox vs Yankees, 6:05PM
Your first game thread of the year and you go ahead and give us the game time for the Eastern time zone. Tst. You are just feeding the East coast bias. Twins have a good shot of winning tonight, so let's keep getting that magic number down with a win tonight. BA better start tonight in CF with Pettite on the mound. And Konerko at 1st, with Swish in LF.

Sox @ Yanks 6:05 on CSN
If we get to the playoffs, I don't think I would be that mad if they don't move on. Considering the injuries, just making the post-season would be amazing. Of course I say this now and if we do make the playoffs, I probably will be extremely pissed off if we don't move on. I really feel like we are 2-3 moves away from being a WS contender. Unfortunately, i don't see it right now.
