  1. From rotoworld.com This is good news to hear and he grew another inch. A 6-9 guy that athletic is very good and he only is going to be 20 this season.
  2. There is no way we are going to sign A.J. to a extension. kenny knows this, but I would still want anyways.
  3. I looked online and saw the World Cup was in 2006. But, does anyone the approximate dates of the event? I always loved watching the world cup and bad as that sounds. To me, it's like the olympics and it's a pride thing and root for your country thing.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) Tribes duo are relatively new to the majors but they are really young studs like the other duo's If you go by age, Garland is 25 while Buehrle is 26. Martinez is 26 while Hafner is 28. The Sox duo is younger.
  5. Closers' jobs are rated based on one stat, IMO. save %; Dustin is 23/24, 96%, damn good and the best in the league. Dustin is doing everything we ask, he has been dominant.
  6. It lists the A's (Harden and Street,) Texas (Blalock and Teixeira,) Cleveland (Hafner and Martinez,) and Detroit (Bonderman and Shelton.) When I saw this I laughed that they would put Hafner and Martinez over Buehrle and Garland. ESPN is so stupid. Buehrle and Garland not only are pitchers, which is more important have better numbers for their positions than Martinez and Blalock. However, even if the Sox duo was there I would have still voted for the Texas duo.
  7. Also, Bruce mentioned that the Sox still will want to make the deal even if they can't re-sign A.J. If we don't re-sign, we can always offer him arbitration and get two draft picks. Not the worst thing, IMO.
  8. QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 08:27 AM) . Also said Sox were second place finishers in the effort to get Tony G and Randa. I wish we got Tony, but I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back to Chicago for next season. We all know Reinsdorf loves him.
  9. If I am KW, I do this trade, maybe try to weisel Marte out of it and add something else. Then, work to sign A.J., if he doesn't then trade him to Philly for Wagner. For me McCarthy/Damaso
  10. I will not watch tomorrow. Not only will the Red Sox score 7+, we will core 2-. Arroyo has the looks of a Sox killer: good movement, good against righties.
  11. I am so sick, really I need a KW trade to lighten the mood. We seem like the worst first place team ever when we lose. I guess all this winning is new and when they lose, it's just something we're not used to.
  12. God dammit, we get f***ing shut out. Now tomorrow, we throw the Red Sox's b**** to the mound.
  13. DP, god f***ing dammit. Why did Aaron swing at the first pitch?
  14. 2 on, no one out. Wow a rally, I wonder how this is going to end.
  15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) Pods, a dead pull hitter?? i didn't mean Pods for some reason I thought he was right handed for the moment and envioned all the hits to left. I am a moron tonight.
  16. Pods, Everett, Konerko, A.J., Juan, Crede are all dead pull hitters. Rowand and Timo are mostly pull hitters and Iguchi is the only one who can go opposite way. Who wants to bet we score 2 next inning?
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 07:31 PM) I have a feeling this might get ugly on here tonight. As for myself, I'll stay consistent with what I've been saying all week.....we need offensive help, and soon! By no means have we clinched the division, and we're facing a lot of good offensive teams in the 2nd half of the year. We need to be able to consistently score more than one run in an inning. Unfortunately there is no position except SS we can upgrade at. No good 3b on the market and that's all we could add.
  18. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 07:29 PM) Abreu isn't a free agent, but i heard they were looking to move him earlier this year. As for Giles he is a free agent, and saying Petco PArk inflates his #'s is the funniest thing I've heard all year. Petco Park has to be the WORST park for LH power hitters. If you look at the post after that I correct myself.
  19. Pods is batting .250 when the came is "close and late:" results in the 7th inning or later with the batting team either ahead by one run, tied or with the potential tying run at least on deck.
  20. We suck at offense. Lifeless swings, my god is this pathetic.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 07:22 PM) Petco inflates his numbers? I think you're the first person to ever say that about a Padres hitter. Looked at the numbers and your right, his numbers at home are much worse. My bad.
  22. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 07:19 PM) I wouldn't want Jones, How about Abreu? :rolly Actually, Brian Giles would be a nice acquisition. Is Abreu a free agent b/c I don't think he is and there is no way the Phillies would trade him. Giles is good, but I think Petco inflates his numbers.
  23. I wouldn't mind Dye to 1st, and signing Jacque Jones. I just am so angry with Konerko, we lose so many runs because of his inability to manufacture runs and beat out ground balls.
