Off the bat, I thought Ronnie had killed that. -

Mark doesn't look sharp today. Maybe, he is a litte tired from the all-star game. Hopefully he gets in a groove and K's Blake as I type. -

I love Ozzie putting the pressure on the Indians. If he doesn't call for the steal, it's still 0-0. -

He got hit with a curve or change, so Mark was obviously not throwing at him. Hope he is out tomorrow, but nothing is serious. He is a fun guy to watch hit, he is country strong. -

ESPN says Buerhle is starting too, my guess is Garland will go though. -

Glad we won the first two with our "worst" pitchers against their best pitchers (at least when they pitch against us). Now we got Buehrle and Garland against Lee and Westbrook. We could sweep. -
Although it's early, but even if we get all our players back, we may not make the playoffs. The automatics are: Pistons, Heat, Pacers. Then, 5 teams left will make it: Cleveland (good offseason and Lebron,) Wizards (Gilbert and Twan, still good even without Hughes,) Bucks (Redd, Simmons, Bogut, they've improved,) Boston (they've got good youngsters and Pierce,) New Jersey (Kidd, Carter, and Jefferson.) Then, the bulls. Any thoughts?

The prospect from the Shingo deal will most certainly be used in another deal, IMO, maybe Guardado or Wagner. I really don'y see Contreras being worse than Schmidt or Burnett numbers wise and certainly health wise. Our main concern is another bullpen arm. If our starters pitch 6 innings, we have, 3 great lefties and 2 great righties to match up the rest of the game, not to mention Cotts is better against righties.

GAME THREAD 7-15-05 SOX vs TRIBE

Pablo hit a line drive that appeared to hit the fence on the dugout. Marte was leaning against that fence, the fence was hit and so was Marte. -

I am real nervous bout Marte, he looked awesome yesterday and now he could be down for a month. Let's hope the fence took the brunt of the damage and Damaso's just got a bruise. -
Torii is a funny guy.

Brian Dolgin said on the post game that JR has no constraints on KW trading for high priced players. It's obvious that JR really wants to win the series.
-
Luke Hovechar (spelling) won the Clemens Award. Lance had better numbers in every catergory, but in the end Hovechar won because of the more notable conference, SEC, and probably the fact that Lance really came on his Junior year.

How long have we heard Kenny must be close on a deal. He probably is just busy calling other teams. I don't think the fact that a phone call wasn't returned means a trade is imminent, simply the genereal manager of a baseball team is busy.
-
He is 20 years old in High A, hitting .312 with 28/32 in stolen bases. We all knew he was a gold glove caliber fielder, but he is mashin even with his steroids thing. He looks like a keeper.
-
Baldwin only won the All-Star game because he gave the lead up and then the AL scored for him.
-
What "weak" team makes the post-season. the Cards are great, San Diego is good, the Nationals are good and so are the Braves. Hell if you make the World Series how can you be considered weak. Just give me the win. If you make the playoffs, 99% of the time, you are not weak.
-
Yeah that's true but it might cost him Anderson, Cotts and McCarthy. You can basically get any player in baseball, with a few exceptions, but it might cost you a ton.
-
He has always killed the Sox during his career, or at least it seems that way. Quite frankly, Boone looks much better in that line-up than Rivas or Rodriguez. I think Kenny will answer this move with a bigger and better move.
-
Boone was traded today to the Twins for a player to be named later.
-
Wow is all I can say. He is hitting bad but at .231 you send him down, that isn't right nor smart.
-
Borch deep for his 16th homer, starting to look like good trade bait. If he gets traded I hope he does well because aren't many nicer nor harder working guys out there.
-
Charlotte, Adkins having a prety solid game 7 inn, 3 runs. Anderson 1 for 3 while Borch still hot at 2 for 2. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...chraaa_indaaa_1 Birmingham, the numbers indicate Honel did worse than sucking: 2.2 inn, 8 runs, Malone in relief not much better. Good nights all around the board and Rogo with a bomb and young with a steal. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...biraax_hunaax_1 Winston-Salem Rained Out Kanny losing, Egbert pitched well, but had no defense, 5.1 inn, 1 earned run. Bullpen doing ok. Chris Getz 4 for 4, playing out of his mind there. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...savafx_kanafx_1 Bristol Rained Out Great Falls Getting No-Hit as I type. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...grfrok_helrok_1

The AP #'s for Jenks' ERA is 3.83 while minor league baseball says 2.85. Which is it or is there even a way to determine who is right? http://www.covers.com/articles/articles.as...0115&tid=24&t=1 http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...milb&pid=408057
