  1. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 10:22 PM) Law is a smarmy ass to anyone and everyone. Almost every fanbase thinks he is "anti-their team." You see it all over his Twitter. I don't see any reason to think he's biased. He's just an ass, but that's okay. Typical east coast elitist.
  2. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 10:12 PM) Hooray, Law already s***ting all over the pick: Never went to see him. Plays an hour from my house. + Run. Bat LONG way off. RT @NateRittenberry: @keithlaw did you even scout walker? Has anyone ever confirmed his anti-sox bias? I am curious about this story, if one indeed exists.
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 09:58 PM) I'm going to ask Keith Law about this atrocity of a pick. The Sox could have gotten Gerrit Cole at 47th and Law would find a fault in the pick.
  4. Anyone know if his league uses wood bats? That could be an interesting storyline.
  5. Based on Sickels' review, I don't think he would have lasted til our second-round pick. I actually like this kid's tools, but our track record with raw, toolsy outfielders makes you think he will be more bust than boom.
  6. At least this isn't a safe pick. Has got good on-base skills (.500+ OBP) and top-of-the-line speed (65 SBs to 3 CSs). Clear boom or bust.

  9. Take it with a grain of salt because it's JC ball, but 65 SBs to 3 CSs this year.
  10. Interesting that he isn't a super easy sign, but this pick reeks of suckiness. Seems like Jordan Danks + Mitchell.
  11. Oh great, he has strikeout issues.
  12. Two minutes til we bash the Sox!!
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) Josh Bell, Brian Goodwin, Daniel Norris, Dillon Howard, Matt Purke still on the board. So like every year, there will be some legitimate talent there for the Sox. Wonder what the excuse will be this time around. We wanted grinders!
  14. My favorite part of the MLB Draft is at least 10 of the first 20 guys will be viewed as absolute bums by 2015.
  15. Will someone explain to me this Danny Hultzen inheritance thing? I just heard he gets a huge inheritance if he goes to medical school...That right?
  16. QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 05:03 PM) But how do you feel about a total rebuild done by KW? He never would, I think, but if he did would you have confidence he could net quality prospects? That's the problem with re-building in my opinion, KW doesn't identify prospects well. I think we need to, but with someone other than KW at the helm.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 04:42 PM) Maybe by drafting Tim Beckham? OR matt Bush.
  18. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 04:09 PM) 2 hours away from draft now? And like 3 1/2 until the Sox pick? I would guess much later.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 01:35 PM) Supposedly Ozney is supposed to be a legit prospect. Yeah, he definitely is. I would still rather steer clear. He isn't an impact talent and having him in the minors of the Sox would just cause disruption.
  20. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 11:45 AM) TSN story says differently I was just going off this. I believe he is at Miami Dade CC, which would make him eligible for the draft even after one year. Only if you attend a four-year college must you wait three years to be eligible again. Actually hit .347, .400 OBP, 11 2Bs, 2 3Bs, 1 HR and 33 RBI. Also only made two errors at 3B this year. Very similar numbers to Brian Goodwin who was his teammate at Miami Dade and a former Sox draftee.
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 10:47 AM) Seems like he's leaning towards football. But that could be just posturing. I saw some vid (I know. Can't take too much from a 45 second scouting vid), but the athleticism is legit. And every draft site I've been too says he has 5 legitimate tools. Well in that case, let's hope the Cubs draft and he doesn't sign.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 10:39 AM) Bubba Starling is generating some serious helium. There's rumblings he could go as high as second, though I doubt it. I saw one mock that had him going to the Cubs. Let's hope not. I know who he is, but really have paid much attention to his football vs. baseball debate. Where is he at in that regard? I know it's Nebraska for football as a QB.
  23. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 10:37 AM) Or have 12 picks in the first 89. But the Rays are probably the best team going right now at finding the gems of the draft that aren't top round guys. It's really scary to think what they will do in this draft with all those picks in such a loaded year. Also will be interesting to see how much frickin money they are gonna have to spend.
