  1. QUOTE(whitesox91403 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 12:30 AM) Supposedly the Sox and Reds have agreed to the trade and it's waiting for Griffey to decide. That is from ESPN radio tonight. I need to stop reading these threads. I've gotten my hopes up so many times.
  2. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 12:16 AM) Hawk was over the top tonight and wrong. I honeslty hope Mariotti rips him a new one. Mariotti has actually been supportive of the White Sox these past few weeks. He also said stupid s*** about where would Griffey play again too. Here's hoping that you're gone Hawk. What? Is JR going to fire Hawk? lol
  3. TBS, ABC Family, Fox, ESPN Classic, CSN, and of course Public Access Cosby, Seinfeld, That 70s Show, Family Guy, Boy Meets World, Step by Step I don't like much new stuff...
  4. QUOTE(farmteam @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 10:29 PM) Can a mod please edit his post? Even if the warning it's still quite obvious. Though, it's still there, considering we all quoted it in our own poste... I'll edit it. EDIT: I took out all mentionings of the spoiler for you guys.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) Scott Sullivan, you mean? Err yeah.... Me
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) Hawk is the mouthpiece for the organization. He knows what's going on in terms of personnel moves more than just about anyone. They definitely seemed to stress the fact tonight that Griffey Jr. wouldn't fit in with this team. Hawk can be wrong though. Remember in 2003 after the Sox made the Robby Alomar and Everett trades? Hawk claimed that there was going to be a deal made that was even bigger than those combined. Was that supposed to be Schoenweis? I doubt it.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) Is it because we're slumping, or we're playing to our talent level? I feel we're just not playing to our strengths anymore. Our offense needs to stop living and dying by the home run.
  8. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 09:47 PM) Alright, enough is enough, as one of the board optimists, I can't make any more excesses. This team needs to wake the f*** up, or a major shake up needs to be made. Kenny Williams best be calling O'hare to see when he can get Jr. to Chicago.... Agreed. This isn't as fun to watch the past few days. I just don't feel like we're the same team we were in the first half. We need a spark.
  9. What an awesome tournament. It just finished up this morning after being suspended due to the rain that got the Sox game yesterday too. For a minute, when Mickleson was on 17 and Elkington was on 18, it looked like we were going to have a huge playoff involving Tiger Woods who finished at -2 yesterday. Phil maintained his cool and locked up his 2nd major with a birdie on the 72nd hole.
  10. The only pogs I had were of my friend's Frank Thomas cards. I had the Triple Arcade too. Starting Lineups (the baseball figurines) were also big with me. You know what player I have. I had absolutely everything possible of the Ninja Turtles. My junior year of HS, my friends and I were the Ninja Turtles for a dance. We won best costume,
  11. I feel like a 6 year old on Christmas Eve. Getting Griffey would be like getting the Turtle Bus, back in the day. Man, I loved that toy.
  12. QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 07:07 PM) Sep 5th, 1 pm, in between two home games, ugh I wouldn't be surprised if this had something to do with Espn not wanting a game going on during their Sunday game They have a date? Why do we even need to play this game? Let's just play a 161 game season.
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 06:39 PM) I think the Umps are still desperately hoping that they can get 1 more inning in. I hope that's what they're thinking.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 01:11 PM) Can I root for a postponed game? QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 04:39 PM) Have they gone back to Hawk for an update? Might as well get this game in today if we can, we have a good shot at winning it. I had to.
  15. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 03:26 PM) Why have you been so negative lately dude look at the standings were the best f***ing team in baseball. Joe Crede's biggest fan is down on Garland and Buehrle. Isn't it ironic?
  16. This is the Sporting News article that has been talked about. I was surprised to see this thing was in our morning paper today. Good read. http://www.fortwayne.com/mld/journalgazett...ts/12382630.htm
  17. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 01:14 AM) Those infamous Red X's in a chick thread have mysteriously returned again......... It works for me....Does it not work for anyone else? If not, I'll put it on my photobucket for the time being....
  18. QUOTE('94WorldChamps @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 12:36 AM) He better be. Or we in trooooble. Welcome to SoxTalk! Like Ozzie is saying, if this is something Pods has been dealing with. It's better for him to go on the DL now, and get right for later versus it being a problem later, when we really need him.
  19. The tomboy from Step by Step...
  20. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 08:41 PM) Another meangingless HR. This time by A-Row. Pumping his numbers as always. You make no sense. NONE. I like Crede, but I understand he doesn't bring much to the table. But how can you bash Konerko, Rowand, Buehrle, Garland, etc...and be the president of the Crede Crew? Seriously. Does this make ANY sense to anyone?
  21. More good news...I hadn't heard a thing about the 2006 class since Oden decided on '06, but I just found this. http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...S/50813004/1004
  22. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) I don't. I was obviously wrong. We have no one who can shut them down. Our pitching is overrated. Probably because of the poor offenses we faced in our own division. It's obvious our pitching isn't as good as advertised. All I know is that come playoff time, I wouldn't bet on a White Sox advancement. Top 5 (in MLB) or better in wins, ERA, BAA, OPS, WHIP. I guess stats are overrated. And since you declare the season's already over. Leave. Stop watching.
  23. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 02:04 PM) No I'll be discussing how Jon Garland has become the real ace of this team. Not being defeated by elite teams and finally has found out how to deal with pressure situations. Garland > Buehrle. I don't care who flames me either. And you were saying?
  24. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 04:54 PM) I read it, but it seems that he would go there. Why? Because it's not that hard of a school to get into and I think they play in the Pac-10 which is a major conference. That means TV time for him(especially with Tim Floyd there) and a better shot to get his name out there to NBA scouts. Wherever he goes, it can't be hard for him academically, else he'll fall faster than Imari Sawyer. Haha....STILL ....IU, UI, KU > USC Those 3 teams are all on TV more than USC will ever be. I don't think I've ever seen a USC game on TV.
