  1. How many "he's the greatest I've ever seen" is that for Hawk tonight?
  2. Nice play by Alexi. Was worried this was going to become a big inning for Gavin.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 18, 2012 -> 01:41 PM) Crossed my mind as well, but also think how much bigger of a story "Urlacher calls out Cutler" would have been. Possible. But using Moore as their mouthpiece to limit the firestorm requires a level of sophistication and tact that I am uncomfortable attributing to Lach and his boys.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 18, 2012 -> 01:31 PM) But now that it's out there, I'm left wondering what Moore was thinking. Either...he's just really dumb and didn't know how this would be percieved, or he knew exactly how it would be perceived and wanted to make sure Jay got the message. I think he might just really be dumb and/or just wanted to generate some attention (he seems like that type). I don't think he's a leader in that locker room. If it was Briggs/Urlacher/Peppers/Forte, I would be more inclined to think they were trying to ensure Jay got the message.
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 18, 2012 -> 12:09 PM) Let's run this streak to 7 games. I like your attitude. Sweep, sweep, sweep.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 18, 2012 -> 11:51 AM) I went to a website called Google, first hit on "DJ Moore" under news yielded this: link As you know by now, television cameras caught Cutler screaming at and shoving left tackle J'Marcus Webb during the Bears' 23-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Cutler said afterwards it was evidence that he cares about winning and losing, but Moore said: "I don't think you can act like that, though, to make it seem like it's just my fault or what not." Moore added, via Michael C. Wright of ESPNChicago.com: "I just think it's wrong, honestly. I would feel some kind of way if he were to do me like that and make it seem like 'Well, the reason that I'm having a bad game is because what you're doing and not me taking accountability for myself because I'm throwing these types of passes or doing this type of read.' So it's a tough situation. When you act like that with your own teammates on the sideline, it's just something different that you normally wouldn't do. So you might say it in the locker room or something, but to do it like he did it, it's just weird." Frankly, I think that this is total baloney. DJ Moore is just making things worse with his comments. He should just handled it internally and not added fuel to the fire. I also don't think what Jay did was all that startling. Jay Cutler should be criticized for being a slightly above average, sometimes miserable, starting QB. On Thursday he was getting on a guy, trying to fire him up. When Tom Brady/Rodgers/Brees do the same thing, we all love their competitive spirit. The media is highlighting this episode because it fits the "Jay Cutler is an butt hole and a bad teammate" narrative. You should never put your hands on another guy, but the rest is a non-issue.
  7. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 04:04 PM) I hate when Dunn is behind the count hahah So does he.
  8. QUOTE (Skipper @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 03:21 PM) I was hoping Dunn would walk. So was he.
  9. BIIIIIG Inning there. Now lets put these kitties to sleep. DONT STOP NOW BOYS!
  10. Does anyone know of the tunein station to listen to the game?
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 16, 2012 -> 06:10 PM) IF top 20 is upper half, then sure. There is no arguing that he has been a top 20 to top 25 pitcher in all of baseball this year. There are, if you assume 5 starters per team, over 150 starters. That puts him far more then just being in the upper half. Plus, what is it with some of you all. He gave up 2 runs and got the win. Yah, I think Peavy has been amazing this year. One of the biggest reasons were up two with a few weeks left in the season.
  12. If only we can win tomorrow. Create some separation going down the stretch run.
  13. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Sep 16, 2012 -> 05:32 PM) LONNIE JIZZNBALLZ STRIKES AGAIN. Win tomorrow and we're up three with the Tigers playing the A's on Tuesday. They'd definitely start feeling A LOT of pressure. lol I love the BIG Potato comment. Don't know why.
  14. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Sep 16, 2012 -> 05:26 PM) Winning run at 3rd. Big Potato blows a huge save. He's vile. I hate him. Come on Indians, win one for the Hawkaroo.
  15. 9-13-12 Tribune Editorial Didn't see this posted. I think the Tribune Editorial Dept has done a great job of covering the issues this week.
  16. The first year of the new evaluations would only attribute 25% to the test scores. Those same tests were developed by CPS teachers, via negotiations with the CTU. The test are the typical standardized tests either, they were developed to give a more complete view of the students progress. They wouldn't even begin implementing the new system until the 2nd year of the new CBA. The current evaluation system is over 40 years old. It includes, I believe, a form that the students fill out that rate the teachers. In 2007, 98% of the teachers rated out as distinguished or above average. The 25% would go up by 5% increments up until it reaches (I think) 40%. Florida uses the test scores for 50% of evaluation. NYC uses a similar number AND posts the numbers to the public. The metric the CPS would be using would include three parts, the test, student feedback, and principal observation.
  17. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 12:13 PM) I'm completely shocked that the NY Times would side with the President's best friend. Best friend? That seems like a stretch. I'm actually surprised they would side against labor. I applaud their objectivism.
  18. NYT Editorial on CTU Strike I don't know if anyone has posted this yet, but the New York Times just published an editorial on the issue. The seem to side with the City on this issue and aren't very complimentary of Mrs. Lewis.
