I'll keep it short. I really like the pick. Fuller looks really really solid on tape. Fuller is really versatile, covered WR and TE (covered Ebron actually) in college. Jennings/Peanut are in their 30s. Pryor more of a box-type safety, Louis Delmas type. We shored up our Run D, should make our safeties better.

Single, Tyler Flowers. Sounds familiar.

That was not a good pitch to swing at.

QUOTE (JoshPR @ Apr 28, 2014 -> 07:19 PM) Who? Gload maybe? Refresh my mind Jon Garland was a #1 pick of the Cubs. Ed Lynch thought Matt Karchner was the missing piece to that 1998 Cubs team. Thanks, Ed!

4/23/14 Recap: Barnum breaks out Didn't see this posted here. Thanks for putting these recaps together, FutureSox. Very useful resource.

QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 03:39 PM) How about a "good" defensive option at SS? How would he project in a UTL role? I get my information from reading Futuresox (/plug) and the like. I think there have always been some questions as to how he would handle SS in the majors. He has 4 errors in 11 games thus far, so that's not a promising start. I think if he continues to hit, they can find some role for him.

Frank is very similar to Urlacher in this way.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 02:15 PM) Also worth noting, to boost your case... Saladino was fighting through a couple nagging injuries in B-Ham last year that may have effected his play. And the fact that a couple years ago, the org was real hot on him, and Ventura liked him as well. The problem he faces is simple numbers. In addition to everyone in Chicago, plus Beckham and Keppinger on the DL, plus Sanchez in AAA, he's got a lot of guys to fight past to get a look. I think we'll know a lot more in a few months, when sample sizes are more meaningful and we know more about how the infielders will fall out above him. Rememer too that Micah Johnson is knocking on the door behind him. Agree on all counts. We're seemingly stocked with talent in the middle infield. Saladino doesn't appear to be a great defensive option at SS either. Not sure where/how he fits, but it's nice to see him rebound with the bat.

.385/.432/.615 in 11 games for a guy who has struggled for the better part of 2 years. I know he's been downgraded as a prospect for his struggles, but was wondering what you guys think about his start to the season and if anything has seen heard anything about him lately. I'll hang up and listen for my answer.

I actually liked Susannah Collins. I thought she had the right personality for her job. Down to earth, snarky, everything you'd want the "dream sports girl" to be. She's also really beautiful. She may not be Sarah Kustok, but she was the best thing at CSN since Kustok left for YES.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 13, 2013 -> 07:48 PM) Are you kidding me...I've already ordered his soxtalk thong...and yes...it does exist. http://www.cafepress.co.uk/+classic_thong,9777167 That's from Soxtalk's Murcie's Secret™ line. All royalties belong to me.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 10:16 AM) Schefter said Emery is getting tips on how to improve the Bears' offense for free by conducting all these interviews I personally love what Emery is doing. He is getting free intel on a bunch of teams in the league. He's also getting an opportunity to see how other teams around the league view the talent on our roster. It's really smart. I don't think it's an accident he interviewed coaches from the Vikings and Pack. He ultimately needs to find the right guy, but this is a good secondary use of his opportunity.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 02:04 PM) vaughn mcclure @vxmcclure23 Urlacher expected to be sidelined 3 weeks with Grade 2 hamstring strain. Hopes to be fully healthy for playoffs Maybe Aaron Curry gets a call, with Roach moving over to the middle to replace Urlacher.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 28, 2012 -> 07:46 AM) I'm sure about 30 teams have interest. Yep, I can't see him getting through to the Bears on the waiver wire.

Chicago White Sox vs. Cleveland Indians

PH for Beckham here? -
QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 10:38 AM) It should be noted that the 2005 ALDS was a national broadcast being called by a Red Sox groupie. That was particularly frustrating, yet ultimately very satisfying.

I actually feel bad for Stoney here. The article lumps him in with Hawk, but he's fair and objective in his analysis. Any use of the words "us" or "we" by Stoney is probably a result of him going with the flow of the broadcast, not an expression of homerism.

QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 09:23 AM) I cried last night when hawk interrupted stone in the smirnoff 8th to say "If we don't start scorin some runs I'ma need to get me some of that smirnoff" Stone ignored. Which is why Hawk sounds considerably more happy when Wimpy is in the booth, he has a buddy willing to share in his antics. Hawk is Hawk. I enjoyed him a lot more when I was younger and cared less about the inner workings of the game. I've grown accustomed to researching what I want to know on my own. My biggest issue with Hawk is how he acts when the team is struggling. The silence, groans, and agony make the broadcast a tough follow. He really makes me that much more frustrated when they struggle. When we win, however, it's that much more fun because of the same histrionics. I was at the game last night and couldn't wait to pull up his homerun call in the 8th. I knew it was going to be epic, and he didn't disappoint (he was . . . orgasmic). I guess I'm part of the problem.

QUOTE (SI1020 @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 01:49 PM) I've been a fan since 1957. Stuck with them from 68-70 when it was to say the least a lonely proposition. Stuck with them through more lean years and heartbraking years than I care to count. As long as I'm alive and they're in Chicago, I'll be a Sox fan. That being said this is an average to a little above average team with more than a few holes and weaknesses. If they weren't in the ALC they would already be making arrangements for their October tee times. I'll keep watching, hoping and rooting because that's what a fan does. In my heart of hearts I expect very little of this team. I would like nothing better than to have this post thrust back at me a little bit more than a month from now, but I really don't expect it. Lastly, I never find realism hilarious. Even as the littlest of kids I was attracted to the harsh but knowledgeable realism of Sox fans. You've provided me with some perspective today. Thank you.

QUOTE (sunofgold @ Sep 18, 2012 -> 08:39 PM) I bet Hawk invent the term 'reboot' that the computer industry stole. Close, Yaz invented the term. Yaz also invented double stick tape, but that's a whole different story. -
