  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 16, 2012 -> 04:33 PM) Oh that? Just the best WR the Bears have ever had. I really hope this punch thing turns out to be less awful than it seems on its face. I really really want to love this guy. I thought he sounded pretty good today at his presser. Like someone who has done a lot of work to study and better understand his disease.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 16, 2012 -> 08:59 AM) Again, someone brings up murder (or rape) which I think are on another level. If we'd just traded for the corpse of Rae Carruth, I'd swear off the Bears. There's levels of bad, people. Rae Carruth is dead? Can his corpse get off a jam at the line? Hmmmm. . . I'm interested in your idea here.
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 09:59 AM) I love Taj. Boozer is a good player though. He has flaws in his game but he's a good player. Serious question: How much worse is this team without Carlos Boozer? I'm not sure I know the answer. He's a good player, but the flaws in his game prevent him from being the difference maker we were hoping for.
  4. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 09:31 AM) People keep pointing to Brewer as a weak link. He's been incredible solid this year. He gets you 6-8 pts a game, timely rebounds, good defense and effort, and a couple of nice assists to boot. He's not really holding this team back at all. I don't think people are down on Brewer, I just think they value him more as a member of the Bench mob. If Brewer is starting, it weakens our bench. Our bench is one of our best assets.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 09:21 AM) Pujols is only 6'3", I don't think he's going to be much of a rebounder. Maybe he'll pull a Cabrera and move to the 3. . . but then what about Lt. Deng?
  6. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 09:09 AM) Word on the street is a package deal of Boozer, Rios and Dunn for Pujols, Howard + prospects I'm happy were keeping the rights to Mirotic, but my worry is who plays the 1? I mean now we have Pujols, Howard and Noah who all play the 1. Thibs is going to have his hands full.
  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 08:21 PM) Not 100% on that deal. I posted the link from another site. Might be rubbish. Note: Looking on twitter I see nothing. So consider that a fake report. Oh Jason, you glorious rube. We still love you though.
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 08:15 PM) @JayGlazer Mario Williams signs a 7 year deal with Buffalo, 52 Million guaranteed. Working on the details. Wow. Bears gave Peppers 42 million guaranteed. That's the price Buffalo has to pay to bring Free Agents to town.
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 06:57 PM) Mincey had 8 sacks last year. If we can't have Mario Williams, then I hope we don't overpay for a Phillip Daniels type.
  10. Colts cut Dallas Clark, I'd like to see the Bears sign him and forget about re-signing Kellen Davis.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 6, 2012 -> 07:11 PM) I really like Stevie J. Think he would have been a better pickup than Vjax. He would have probably come cheaper (and perhaps a better value), but I'll take 6'5 with great speed over 6'2 and crazy any day.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 21, 2012 -> 09:44 AM) Bowie over Jordan Oden over Durant Portland FTW At least they got Aldridge over Tyrus.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 20, 2012 -> 04:24 PM) Rondo gets a suspension for throwing a ball at a ref Deservedly so. It was a punk move.
  14. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Feb 17, 2012 -> 09:09 AM) The guy that wrote that was on the SCORE this morning. He said that Miller is miserable and could be had. At 31 he is not young but also has a few good years left and thinks Chicago could revitalize him. He said that Miller with waive the NTC for the Hawks as they are as highly thought of as any franchise in hockey. He felt Kane was way to much to give up Miller. He also thought that while Kane's stock is down other GM's know what he is, so moving him for prime return is an option. I heard that interview. Dude was right on the money. I think Miller can be had, and I don't think we'd need to trade Kaner to get him. If anyone's value is down, it's Miller's. He's had a s***ty year, he is frequently b****ing in the press, and the league knows he wants OUT. Buffalo isn't in the best bargaining position. IMO, you don't trade Kaner unless you're getting another superstar, in his prime, in return. Maybe (MAYBE) for a guy like Rich Nash, but he looks really broken right now.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 04:12 PM) Don't underestimate the difficulty of pulling it off with a team that has less than 2 months to Gel, with a key guy stuck into a totally new system, and presumably with a substantial loss of depth (which next offseason can be replenished with exemption guys). I think this fact should not be overlooked. If current trends continue, you'd see a lot of pretty serviceable, if not really good, role players sign for less than they could elsewhere just to play with Rose and Howard (see: Battier, Shane). If we did complete a trade for Howard, I think we'd end up hurting our chances this year for improved prospects for the next 5 years.
  16. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 01:42 PM) Noah + Kover get's it done after March 1st. Remember, All-Star game this year is in Orlando on February 26th. I can't imagine the Magic trade Howard before then, and have him play the All-Star game in Orlando with a different team. Thus, it's more likely than not that he will not be traded before March 1st.
  17. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 01:17 PM) Yeah, but Noah, Deng, Mirotic, and the Bobcats pick both weakens us now and mortgages the future. Deng is the only player I think we'd really miss. Howard > Noah Mirotic is still 2-3 years away and is still a project. Bobcats pick isn't unprotected until like 2016 or something. I'd try and offer Taj instead of Deng, but I'd still make that trade and see where Rose, Howard, Boozer, Asik, Taj, CJ, Rip and Korver gets me.
  18. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 01:08 PM) I dont even want to speculate because Howard + Rose would be fun, it just seemingly wont happen. Agree. This just isn't the type of move that GarPax feels comfortable making. They're conservative and risk-averse. There is a considerable amount of risk involved when trading away 2/3 pieces of the core that took you within 3 games of the finals last year. I don't see them pulling the trigger on something like that.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 09:11 AM) There was positive news though. Noah with his 4th double double in a row Not only that, Noah's energy level was off the charts and he was dialed into the game from beginning to end. Noah was back to being a difference maker, which we need him to be (until we hopefully trade him to ORL for Howard).
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 10:48 AM) I'm really excited about the Emery hiring. He has a very strong history of drafting talent. I'm curious to see how he does in the peronsell move department (as that will be a bit new for him). However, I have a feeling we are about to see a bit of a culture change in the front office. I hope so. I don't really know how to "gauge" (pun intended) whether or not were in for any culture change. In fact, Emery is familiar with Halas Hall and the way things work. I think that's a big reason he got the job. Accordingly, I'm not really excited for the hiring. I'm cautiously optimistic, mostly just because Phil Emery is not Jerry Angelo.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 10:18 AM) ZachZaidman Zach Zaidman Sources tell WSCR that Tim Ruskell is out as #Bears player personnel director Phil Emery is 1 for 1 so far.
  22. Wow, I think the 49ers just got screwed over a little bit. Forward progress looked like it was stopped, but I've seen the refs let that go a little while longer.
