  1. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 29, 2011 -> 07:02 PM) She isn't drop dead gorgeous, but she is very cute. Looks like much more marriage material than girls who may be hotter. Really? I think she's prettying smoking hot. She deserves better than "very cute." I'd say at least hot, if not "very hot."
  2. The refs have really killed any pace to this game. Whistles galore. Cousins is quite a flopping mess.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 29, 2011 -> 10:19 AM) No reason not to do that, competent backup. Agreed. I think this season should illustrate the value of depth at key positions.
  4. McCown wasn't great, but he passed the eye test as an NFL caliber quarterback. He made plays, threw some accurate passes and didn't look scared to be there. He converted 6/12 on third downs and moved the offense. McCown's success 4 weeks removed from coaching HS football is an indictment against Hanie/Angelo/Martz for not being prepared for Cutler's injury.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 01:47 PM) Yates has also had his RB's there in the games since he took over. Granted. Still, the Bears run game hasn't been miserable in Forte's absence - despite the fact that teams were stacking the box. Obviously, Forte's absence is felt in the screen/checkdown game. Hanie could have benefitted from having Forte as a checkdown, provided that Hanie would've thrown accurate passes to Forte. Hanie's on-field performances provide evidence to the contrary. I don't think there are any viable excuses to explain away Hanie's failures. He's just been THAT bad.
  6. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 12:54 PM) So we have tons of holes going into last years draft and decide to use our 4th pick on a potential third string qb and ignore the other pressing needs the team has. Our starting QB gets hurt, it turns out our backup QB is bad and instead of giving the draft pick a chance they bring in a guy off the street who wont be on the team next year to play the last 2 games of a lost cause. Well I suppose its a good thing we used that pick on a third string qb who they arent even going to give a chance to play instead of going after a WR, LT, RG, C, TE, CB, OLB, FS. Decisions like that and the inability to draft capable depth is the difference between the Bears going from riding high after the San Diego game to becoming a joke after Cutler and Forte went down. Then look at a team like Houston who has had Arian Foster, Matt Schaubb, Matt Leinart, Andre Johnson, Mario Williams and probably others I cant think of miss time this season and have managed to stay afloat. If Hanie played as well as the Texans' 3rd string, rookie 5th round pick, quarterback has, we would probably be, at least, 8-6. Probably 9-5. That's the biggest indictment on Martz and Angelo. The Texans have had to rely on T.J. Yates to keep their season moving, and he's been drastically better (albeit, still mediocre) than Caleb Hanie. Hanie has had 4 years to prepare for this moment. The Bears had 4 years to train Hanie for this moment. The Bears have had 4 years to evaluate if Hanie was worthy of this moment. Big time failure on all accounts.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 20, 2011 -> 02:54 PM) I'd imagine he'd be available for something >> what the Bears gave up for Cutler. Pair of first, pair of seconds, and some filler. I think I'd take Cooper or Archie Manning over the guys we currently have on the roster.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 20, 2011 -> 08:09 AM) Bill Polian's response to whether or not Peyton will be back with the Colts next season. Maybe we can sign him as Cutler's backup?
  9. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Dec 19, 2011 -> 11:22 PM) God I hate watching Tomlin "coach". He is such a miserable coach. He inherited a roster littered with pro bowlers and Dick LeBeau to run the defense. I think he's done a really good job at keeping the team playing as it should. That's something worthy of some praise; however, I wonder how well he would have done with a different team. I actually give Lovie a lot more credit (and I've never been a big supporter).
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 19, 2011 -> 08:26 PM) Starting on a playoff team no less Not starting, but playing significant minutes. EDIT: I think I might be wrong about this, team website has him listed behind Crabtree on the depth chart. ESPN has him listed as the starting #2 WR. Forgive my potentially erroneous assumption.
  11. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 18, 2011 -> 03:51 PM) f*** KC and their Orton block. f*** Jerry Angelo for not having/developing a "passable" backup quarterback on the roster. His fault, not KC for exercising their right.
  12. Patriots Defense determined to make us endure another week of Tebogasms.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 18, 2011 -> 03:20 PM) especially for a QB like hanie...Forte would be a godsend. Stellar checkdown option would cut down on mistakes everywhere...simplifies the reeds, you take 1 look, if it's not there, you throw it near Forte's knees. Oh, and having any RB other than Barber would have won the game last week. Have to be able to hit him in the flat to be useful. Past few weeks he has shown he can't consistently make that throw. He's awful. Don't think any personnel would have made him passable. He's only a notch better than Todd Collins/Jonathan Quinn
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 18, 2011 -> 02:01 PM) Colts are in danger of winning a game. 17-6 Colts!
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 18, 2011 -> 12:43 PM) taken to the hospital, called a back injury. Good news, can move all extremities. Called a lower to mid back injury.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 18, 2011 -> 12:43 PM) taken to the hospital, called a back injury. f***.
  17. Bears Defense 7 - Seahawks 7 (should be 7-0 Bears D).
  18. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Dec 18, 2011 -> 12:32 PM) Looks like Hanie figured out Bennett is the only wr he has who can catch Then he misses a wide open Bell, who probably would have been tackled 2 yards short of a first down.
  19. Finding ways to lose. We're looking like the Wannestedt era Bears.
  20. Knox fail. There's your number 1 receiver, Bears fans.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 08:35 AM) This all proves how insanely good Jay Cutler is, obviously. Hopefully one of these years Jerry Angelo will provide him with a competent offensive line and NFL-caliber Wide Receivers. FTFY.
  22. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 11, 2011 -> 06:52 PM) But the plan works if barber doesn't go out of bounds for no reason. This. The kneeldown offense was the right call. Hanie can't play the position and has provided no evidence to the contrary. Our defense had put up a goose egg and was dominant all day long (despite never getting a holding call!). We should have won the game. Barber made two horrible mistakes. Prater rocked a 59 yarder to tie the game and a chip shot 51 yarder to win the game. Barber mistakes, Prater leg, a sprinkling of Tebow play making = we lose.
  23. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 09:28 PM) The Bulls didn't trade for Crawford because they need the assets for Howard. The Bulls went cheap with Rip because they need the finances for Hedo. Please stop. I cant do this to myself again.
