QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 25, 2008 -> 05:19 PM) This year or ever? I'm not exactly sure if I'm being sarcastic or not. Ever. 2005-2007 10 HR 7 at home 3 at Safeco 2008 7 HR 4 at home 1 at Safeco 1 at the MET 1 at Kaufman -

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Aug 25, 2008 -> 05:16 PM) Has BA hit a HR in any other ballpark than the CELL or Safeco? nvm the answer was easier to find than I thought... Metrodome, and Kauffman Stadium are the two other venues he has gone yard in. -

QUOTE (dielac @ Aug 25, 2008 -> 05:13 PM) Wow TCQ just missed it... Hawk's "STRETCH!" was incredibly annoying there especially when it was ridiculously obvious that the ball wasn't going to clear the fence.... -

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO -
Carlos mad, bat make Carlos mad, Carlos bite bat, take that stupid bat!
-
2-3 years from now, Carlos might deservedly crack the top 3. He is, as steve mentioned earlier, a f***ing beast.
-
Carlos, for all of his douchebaggery, did improve on his fielding (which was absolutely horrible when he first came up) and is now solidly below average in that regard. He did beat the cubbies like a drum, and make fun of Damaso Marte for being like a poor dominican or something... so I guess thats cool. oh well.
-
This could be the start of a fun series.... maybe we can find out what Don Slaught and his unfortunate groin are upto now?

QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Aug 25, 2008 -> 03:50 PM) for anyone who listens to Howard Stern... "zero point zero" ACK! ACK!

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 03:03 PM) Yeah, after being on this board for about 4 years, you realize how some people generate a fan base while others don't. It reminds me of how 2 years ago, the U.S. Cellular in Homewood had Sox players there on consecutive weekends for autographs. The first weekend was Pods, and the line must have been 500 people deep. The next weekend was Garland, and literally there were 5 people there. Ben Davis had a fun club for the 2 months he was here, if that s***head can get a fan club anyone can... wait he didn't make the list did he? (joke.)
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 02:55 PM) Was that directed at me? I'm actually upset I didn't participate in this, as it would have allowed me to reflect on some players I don't often think about (Ellis Burks is a great example). no, not at all. I've just read about 20 posts (in various threads) berating this list, and I think its a little silly and I think we should take the list for what its worth. Willie Harris wouldn't be in my top 50 favorite players, but I could see the attraction. 'nough said.
-
its not a list of "who's the best," its a list of "who's your favorite." The majority of posters on this board are younger, and they're going to remember guys like Willie Harris fondly over a guy like Kirk McCaskill or Dan Pasqua. I don't agree with it, but I didn't participate by making a list, and I understand the philosophy behind the list. Seriously, we don't need 5 posts from people every new thread talking about how "__________" makes the list a waste or whatever. I get it, I feel your pain, but just chill out already.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 21, 2008 -> 09:27 AM) I hit over .070 in my softball league... And I don't think I should be drafted. Competition and tools are very important. fixed that for ya! burn.

QUOTE (BaseballNick @ Aug 21, 2008 -> 09:52 PM) Sounds like Joe found his swing. Did he commit any errors? Maybe he found his fielding groove too! (sorry joe, I couldn't help myself)
-
QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Aug 21, 2008 -> 11:37 PM) I don't remember Freddie carrying the bat back, that's a cool picture. Im pretty sure that's one of Ozzie's kids... I wish Willie wasn't allergic to champagne, what a surly b**** life can be.
-
Friday night is probably are best match up. Jackson v. Danks Kazmir v. Vasquez Sonnanstine v. Buehrle We're playing as good as we've had all year, perhaps were never going to fix the sloppy defense... but I feel that we SHOULD win this series at home. Which is nice to say.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 19, 2008 -> 11:07 AM) He did not play for the White Sox. He nearly signed with the White Sox after being waived by the Athletics because he went off on Finley, but chose the Red Sox instead. somebody watched the hawk harrelson special on CSN after the game on Sunday -
Congrats on the AL Central- From a Twins Fan
