White Sox vs. Yankees, 6/4/07 (W)
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 09:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jon Garland is a #1 guy? What the f***? Since when does being slightly above average make you an ace? Didn't you hear man? Only Wang and Santana had more wins than Garland last year.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 08:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, but he's a horrible broadcaster. At least I don't have to listen to a 9 inning White Sox PR announcement on the national version of the game. PR stands for "public relations," not "propaganda."

White Sox vs. Yankees, 6/4/07 (W)
It amazes me how many left handed MLB batters cradle up like a little baby when a lefty reliever comes in. before that AB, Thome's career line against Villone: .357/.438/.571

White Sox vs. Yankees, 6/4/07 (W)
This is why if my team is struggling, I'd much rather have it be the offense and not the starting pitching. Seriously, how an the Yankees front office put up with all these garbage starting pitchers they keep trotting out?

Sutcliffe was right. Bunting in this situation is idiotic. Konerko needs a big jump at second, and Desalvo can't find the plate for s***. M&M GUY IN THE HOUSE!

A-Rod also kicked that ball after swinging. Maybe he is a really dirty player.

rowand to the sox?
You still are. I never said anything about the pitching being related to Thome's performance. You: 2005 Sox - Rowand + Thome = 2006 Sox which means the actual individual numbers don't mean anything Everyone else with a clue: 2006 Sox did not meet expectations because the pitching wasn't good. Get it? No? Give up. It makes sense to everyone else except to you and Anne Maxfield.

6/3 Games
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 11:58 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wing and Vazquez should be called up... IMO. vazquez is already with the club. Vasquez has a good ERA and WHIP, but I'm disturbed of him giving up 2 walks for every K.

rowand to the sox?
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are you kidding me? You want Thome to be a slap hitter? How about you factor in just how s***ty the White Sox pitching staff was in 2006 into this equation... If the 2006 White Sox pitchers pitched anywhere near their career averages, the White Sox probably win 100 games. Our lowest starters ERA was 4.27. Funny how he wants to throw the straws around, yet he dances around the pitching staff. i.e. THE REASON WHY WE DIDN'T WIN LAST YEAR. I believe it's in SSI71's sig, but I love the quote that was made here a while ago: Are you really that f***ing dense, dude? You can't even admit it's an upgrade, dude? Despite the number being clearly better, it's still not an upgrade because the team didn't meet our expectations, dude? I also like how you are whining about it being a Rowand vs. Thome debate which was started with your unintenional flame baiting post (shades of whitesoxjosh,) and now you are dragging Brian Anderson's name into the argument. Clear your mind, and open your eyes, dude.

rowand to the sox?
So Thome is the reason why the Sox aren't on fire right now? It's his fault the offense sucks? Thome 2007: .275/.469/.549 Thome 2nd half of 2006: .274/.420/.522 Rowand in the magical year of 2005: .270/.329/.407 Thomas in 2005: .219/.315/.590 Everett in 2005: .251/.311/.435 Yep, no upgrade there. I guess if Thome sang Journey with Crede and AJ you wouldn't keep making such dumbass posts about him.

rowand to the sox?
QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 04:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We'll see about that. See what? Your post was full of BS. Regardless of what Rowand does from this point on for this season or his career it has nothing to do with the nonsense you posted about Thome. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 04:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We'll see about that. My argument is simple: what has Thome provided, seeing that he is supposedly the "upgrade"? Yeah I like watching his HR bombs too. What else has he provided? Those slap hits? Baserunning? His Go-Go White Sox attitude and clubhouse leadership? I'm not even slamming him. I'm telling some of you to open your eyes. Thome was a massive upgrade from our 2005 DH's. He's cheap, he's a power left handed bat (something the Sox have lacked since Ventura,) a future hall of famer, and he's a good clubhouse guy. By getting on base and mashing the ball, he greatly improves our offense much more than a guy who has little plate patience and one good year under his belt.
