  1. Has nobody mentioned Jordan Crawford? He was 10-11 from the field and 6-6 behind the arc in the first game. He is fast, athletic, and he can shoot the lights out. Deandre Thomas will push people around down low, Bassett is going to improve, and Ratlif comes back next semester. As long as Stemler doesn't single handidly lose games for us this year, IU is going to destroy.
  2. No matter how annoying you think the drum or hat guys are, clearly Ronnie Woo-Woo wins the award for the most annoying fan ever. I was in the bleachers for a Cubs game earlier this summer and his own fans were booing him. Edit: And that's what I get for not noticing Southsiders post at the bottom.
  3. Do all of you actually value a .237 leadoff hitter more than Javier?? Give it a rest already. For how many years prior to 2005 did we b**** and moan about having too many right handed power hitters that only swung for the fences and hit for a low average?
  4. I definitely wouldn't send him in anything Cubs related because childhood is when you develop your fanatic roots. My uncle bought me a Tigers jersey when I was little and for the longest time I thought I could like the Tigers and White Sox. My mom even bought me a Kerry Wood jersey in 98 after he threw 20 Ks and for just a few months I actually watched the Cubs on WGN and rooted for them! Don't let this happen to your sweet and innocent child.
  5. I voted for blasting the ball into space because then it would be gone forever and maybe we wouldn't have to hear about it anymore. If the ball was branded, MLB could easily find a way to display the ball without the asterisk showing if they wanted. Plus, blasting the ball into space would be cool to watch.
  6. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 16, 2007 -> 03:16 PM) It's in ESPNews' breaking news box It is now, wasn't when I posted. There's no reason it should take 15 minutes for ESPN to get a story of a 500th home run for a walkoff on the site.
  7. This story still isn't up on ESPN or MLB.com, what is that crap?
  8. I'm very upset that I didn't get to watch this, but what an amazing way to get it!!!
  9. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Sep 16, 2007 -> 10:20 AM) Shaun Alexander and Adrian Peterson. Peterson has fulltime duties bc of Chester Taylor's injury. That's what I ended up going with. The 2 points per reception in my league was the only thing causing a debate cuz Bush and MJD are both "due". If any week is the time to start Peterson though, it's this week.
  10. I'm in a tough spot here...I have Shaun Alexander, Reggie Bush, Adrian Peterson, and Maurice Jones-Drew, which two should I start? All are playing weak rush Ds (Sea/Ari, NO/TB, Min/Det, and Jax/Atl). I'm in a points per reception league so that makes me want to start MJD and Peterson. It would also be stupid to sit SA though. And the one time I sat Reggie Bush last year he scored 4 touchdowns. By the way, it's an 8 team league that's why I have so many good running backs. I even have Brandon Jacobs but obviously I won't play him.
  11. Can anyone here seriously blame Ozzie for this season? I like the extension, but I do think the timing is a little early. I don't understand all the Oz hate on here. I would focus my hate on Pods, Count, Erstad, Dye, Konerko, anybody besides Jenks in the bullpen, ect.
  12. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 29, 2007 -> 04:03 PM) I'm going to turn you in to the copyright police. Then I'll just turn the bookstores in to the real police for ripping everyone off!
  13. Well I managed to photocopy all the pages out of the Psychology that I needed (which costed about $20) and returned the $90 book to the bookstore, saving $70.
  14. After only a week, I've already had a roommate switch. The first guy was a prick and all he did was try to act cool and cheat on his girlfriend. Of the six nights we roomed together not one of those nights did he not wake me up at least two times. My new roommate is my old roommates new roommates old roommate. In other words I just switched roommates with a kid down the hall who was friends with my old roommate. The new guy is a laid back farm boy who has the same major as I do, so it should be good.
  15. I just got done spending $500 this week on my books for the semester. I got raped though because the majority of my books are specially made editions by IU/Kelley School professors and you can't find them online. I'm still going to try to find some online and just return the others to the bookstore.
  16. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 24, 2007 -> 08:21 AM) Yep. You notice it's all us accounting/finance pukes that put in these kind of hours? Note to people: the $$ is pretty good, but the hours suck for those of you thinking about finance. Way to encourage a freshman planning on majoring in finance!
  17. I was in League 2 and I definitely want in again this year.
  18. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Aug 14, 2007 -> 01:54 PM) what parts of the Wii does Madden emcompass You use the nunchuck and the Wii remote. It's a combination of the joystick, all the buttons, and "freemotion controls". You feel a whole lot more in control of the players than on the other systems. GHC: I will be down at school starting next week so I should be able to get online then, but as of now I don't have Wi-Fi at home.
  19. Madden 08 has been great so far, but I am still getting used to all the different Wii controls. The graphics are also the best of any Wii game I've played so far, destroying The Bigs and Mario Party 8.

    Laptop Help

I bought a Macbook this summer and I am loving it so far. They also have a sale going on, free shipping and you get a free ipod nano when you buy a macbook.
  21. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 10, 2007 -> 11:08 AM) Good deal. Read's a pretty good location. Shoot me a PM or w/e, if you ever have a question about anything here--I should be able to help you out. Thank you much. I just might take advantage of that sometime in the first couple weeks because I might have no idea where to go.
  22. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Aug 10, 2007 -> 02:48 PM) Hahahahaha, that's precious. Enjoy being surrounded by the dumbest people on campus while learning absolutely nothing. Kelley is an absolute cesspool outside of Finance, and I don't understand why people would want to study there outside of the false reputation it receives. Actually contributing to the thread, I'm moving in on the 18th (16-hour drive from Texas) for my Senior year at IU. I already have my Bachelor's in Germanic Studies, but I'm finishing up my Bachelor's in Economics next year. Well I guess I should be glad to be planning on majoring in Finance already. And besides, it's much better than my other options (Butler, DePaul, and Wabash).
  23. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 08:21 AM) Nice, weren't you considering Depauw or something like that earlier this year? You'll love it here, and honestly, as I'm sure it is with all schools, it's only a party school if you want it to be. You can make it whatever you want, by the way you go about things. And what dorm are you living in? Yeah after my junior year I was pretty set on going to DePaul but after visiting their School of Commerce I changed my mind. I couldn't turn down the quality of a Kelley School education. I'll be living in Read. I'm excited about that because it's close to Mother Bear's pizza and there are many cafeterias inside Read.
  24. I'm in the same boat as SF1, move in day is Aug 22 and classes start 27. I'm moving in a day early though because my parents are old school and want to beat the rush. I'm pretty pumped about starting school, but I'm somewhat in the same position of Beastly. I don't really like to go out and get wasted all the time, I made my college decision based on my major not because of IU's recognition as a party school. I'm going in with an open mind though, and I'm really looking forward to meeting new people because few kids from my school are going to IU (about 80 kids are going to Purdue because we had 2 basketball players go there).
