QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 04:32 PM) I didn't jump on anything.. But considering at an average of $27 per ticket (regular pricing not including prime and premier) that's approx 250K tickets for an approx seating revenue of $6.7 million over the year... pretty significant, IMO. Sorry, I took things like "??? " and " :banghead " as "jumping on someone" And yeah you're right, $6 million is a fairly significant difference, but it is still only January 3, which means there are 3 more months until opening day. I think we're both hoping the base can get up to 23.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 04:08 PM) At this point there are approx 20K seats sold for every game via full holders, 27 gamers, ozzie plan, etc.. Why would you jump on somebody for saying 23K. That's only 15% off.

There was not any INDISPUTABLE evidence. :headshake -
Fun with Dick and Jane is downright awful. Don't see it. On the other hand, Crash is one of the best movies I have ever seen. It has a great plot with shocking twists.

That's a good article. How do they come up with that stuff?

QUOTE(mreye @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 11:59 AM) I also heard JR modeled it after Yankee stadium. Well then the steep upper deck makes sense.

QUOTE(G&T @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 05:06 PM) Wow, I fogot that I was at one of those games. All I remember is Lee hitting a homer and thinking the Sox were going to need another year to contend. Oops. I remember thinking the Viz was the real deal after seeing him pitch at Miller Park. But I also thought that Hermanson was the real deal, so that worked out.

Now I know an offer of Contreras, Uribe, and possibly a prospect sounds like it won't be enough, but I'm thinking it just might be enough. Here is why: Jose Contreras had a monster second half and continued to dominate in the playoffs. That is what the Orioles remember the most. Juan Uribe had one of the most amazing defensive performances ever in Game Four of the WS. This is what the Orioles remember. On the other side of that, Manny was a whinning b**** last year in Boston, and Clement had a very rough second half of the season. (Only because he took a line drive off his face, but people don't seem to think that's why he didn't pitch well) Manny and Matt also have extremely high salaries. Although it is very far fetched, it is a slight possibility.

QUOTE(HoosierSox @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 06:35 PM) Believe me, Ive had kidney stones removed. It is no fun. s***, it's in the genes. I'm not looking forward to the time when I get them.

Boston is offering Manny and Clement. Everyone here believes Contreras and Uribe is our offer. Which is a better package? Get real people. If we were to get Tejada, B-Mac would have to be in the deal and most likely Uribe and another impact player.

Jon Garland signs a 3 year extension

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) Contreras is a FA after this year, meaning that until he signs an extension B-Mac has a rotation spot in 2007. That works. -

There's something wrong with all of this. A spot in the rotation for B-Mac won't become available until 2008? Something is fishy here, Brandon has to be in this rotation. If not this year, then next year for sure. Get rid of Count, I'm afraid that second half of last year was a fluke. But then again, I think that maybe Cooper did really finally get through to him and he can go on for many more years with great stuff. -

This has been an amazing offseason. So Garland will be here through 2009?? Is that right? Edit: Here through '08... -
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 26, 2005 -> 01:28 PM) I remember when a couple of you knuckleheads thought the Bears should forfeit the season for Matt Leinart. I called you all retarded (don't know if you were one of those hoping for Leinart). Hey I predicted 9-7 and a Wild Card birth. Everyone made fun of me. Who cares though, we have a home playoff game in round two!!
