  1. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 03:32 PM) Yea, but that doesn't make it right, because then we look like the very fans we are b****ing about, now doesn't it? Thing of it is about 99.99999% of the people here are die hard White Sox fans so me and the other more , uh, aggressive posters simply give voice on the boards to what most of us are thinking/saying when they watch the game at home. The people I work with are from all over the place and thusly I see fans of most every other team. Most of the time its pretty civil but there is certainly a fair share of smack talking........like theres gonna be tomorrow with this one guy in my squad from Boston. Thats the best 20 bucks I ever won in a bet. HAHA!
  2. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 02:25 PM) what happened to the "f*** THE RED SOX, RED SOX TAKE IT UP THE BUTT, RED SOX ARE GAY, f*** f*** f*** f*** AHHH" type posts spewing from peoples mouths? I like you Rock, I really do. You're just proving how little time you spend here with that statement. If you spend any significant amount of time here you would know that that treatment is not reserved for any 1 team but anyone who happens to cross paths with us.
  3. Call me cheap but I'm holding out for the White Sox WORLD SERIES CHAMPS gear.
  4. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 01:41 PM) Unlike most teams, the red sox fans seem to be a real class act. Can't say the same for Yankee fans or particularly Cub fans. The Red Sox fans will definitely be pulling for us IF we play the yanks which seems strange since we just eliminated them. The Cardinals have awesome fans and so does Baltimore. I was at a game at Camden Yards last May against the Orioles and even though I was decked out in Sox gear the fans didn't give me any crap and the ones right next to me really knew a lot about baseball and we had a great conversation throughout the game. I think our problem is that we have to deal with stupid ass Flubby fans on a daily basis and it warps our perception of what the other teams fans are really like.
  5. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 02:20 PM) My favorite part was the whole wolves ordeal. Those wolves escaped the central park zoo, survived the 500 foot tidal wave that obliterated the city, survived the temperature drop that froze people solid instantly, then hunted for people around New York. How about the dude in the Porsche who got wiped out by some flying debris. The guy on the radio is like "WOAH Something took out that Porsche!!! I hope nobody was in there." LOL!
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) When thinking of all these natural disaters, does anyone think of the movie "The Day After Tommorrow"???? That movie was as unrealistic as it was funny. I never laughed so hard as when the tornadoes ripped apart LA, then this janitor opens a door and finds the rest of the building gone. HAHA!
  7. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 01:37 PM) I'm a huuuuge fan of 'Carlito's Way". I decided to check out the prequel "Rise to Power" this weekend. What I got through was average at best, luckily the disc crapped out on me and I took it back for a rental credit. Thanks for the heads up. I was about to go pick that up.
  8. QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 11:16 AM) did you take a hiatus from the country during the years of 1992 to 2000 where the republicans were doing the exact same thing except louder and dirtier? Republicans took control of Congress in 1994. Evidentely you were asleep during the whole "Contract With America" thing. There were only 2 years where we were completely out of power.
  9. BTW, I dont need to be reminded that 1000 people or so died in this hurricane. It bothers me when Americans die like that...........even the poor.
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 09:48 AM) My point was that all of the finger pointing is BULLs***. It doesn't matter how or why it happened.. it did.. and many people died. Who was it screaming.. "lets drop the political bulls*** and get the people out of there..."...? Hmmm... was it you...? Yes.. I do believe it was you. But the first chance you get here you are slamming. Hypocritical... yea.. hypocritical. 1000 people died. Pretty f***ing asinine to overlook that FACT. IMO.. of course. Slamming who? Oh yeah, the Democratic politicians who would much rather point fingers and race bait than do something to solve the problem............Yeah. Do people like that deserve to be slammed.......defenitely. If you bothered to read my posts a little closer you'd notice that I also deplored the class and race baiting that was going on but there's another fact overlooked. Yes I did say that we should not point fingers and concentrate on helping people but Democrats were falling all over themselves in the days right after to blame the Federal Government for not responding fast enough to cover for their own shortcomings. When it was suggested that the military take charge of disaster relief the states ( especially Louisiana ) said "Hell no this is our job". If you're looking for hypocrasy here you have it. Its the states responsibility to handle disaster relief according to them but its still the governments fault that it was executed so poorly here. Yeah right. If you're buying that then it's you that has issues with reading comprehension.
  11. QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 12:46 AM) Television is a valuable marketing tool when used correctly, and the Hawks' stubbornness towards "protecting the season reservationists" is going to backfire when those reservationists die off and there's no one interested enough to pick up the available tickets. You mean there are still people dumb enough to hand Dollar Bill that much money for season tickets?! Holy WASTE OF MONEY Batman!!!!!!!!!!
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 09:37 AM) Stellar comprehension there NUKE. I know.. tough since my post didn't include a "f*** you, you sorry ass cock sucking pieces of political democratic dog s***... suck it... bla, bla, bla.. yadda, yadda, yadda... " LOL! I dont need bad language to get my point across here. A little well-placed sarcasm, and facts that are convieniently overlooked by you make the point far better.
  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 09:06 AM) That must be Bush's fault. Everything that goes wrong in the world is Bush's fault.........where have you been? :rolly
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 07:05 AM) But, but, but... Maybe if the Republican's didn't cut the $$ to repair the levies.... :rolly Funny stuff here... now it's the Dem's fault that the CAT 5 hurricane destroyed Louisiana because somehow how they run the G'ment is directly related to the degree of a natural disaster. BUT BUT BUT Maybe if the bill wasn't killed over and over again over the years because of environmental concerns.......... :rolly
  15. This is taken from a Yahoo article about the flu pandemic that everyone is worried is about to happen. Every time I hear about something bad happening in the news this is always a part of the article. Democrats criticize the Bush Administration for ( insert perceived failure here ). Could they, just once, just shut the hell up and do something useful? PLEASSSSSSSE?!?!?! A potential problem arises, the administration reacts to it and Democrats whine that not enough is being done. But thats alright though. People take note of who's doing something and who sits there and crys all the time.
  16. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 02:25 PM) Viz is way worse vs. Lh's than Marte....... Can we all just agree we don't want to see either guy, period. Im with ya there.
  17. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 02:09 PM) Ok, I'm just going to cite a few outings later in the season in which Marte "re"-earned my respect. After having the fallout with Ozzie, Kenny and co. and his alleged firing, Marte enters two ballgames in Minnesotta and turns out two very impressive and CRUCIAL outings in the later innings. Ozzie told him if you want a place on this team and you really think you belong, you have to get it back. He threw him right in the fire and Damaso produced. He's a left handed pitcher, and a pretty talented one at that. If he has "it" he can produce in the clutch and get some big outs. If he doesn't, he starts walking people and puts runners on. He has to be on the roster. I'm sorry. Having him off the roster just doesn't make a lick of sense. One left handed reliever in the ALCS...errrr...I dunno. Marte BLOWS!!! I dont care if he's left handed. That means nothing at all when you cant find the plate. We cannot afford another Marte appearance anymore. Every out is critical at this point.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) And like we've been saying since the draft, thankfully we drafted Benson instead of a WR that could help this team. Yeah and everyone gave me s*** when I jumped on the Bears for drafting another running back. They do the same s*** every time. They get a high pick and waste it trying to draft the next Walter Payton.
  19. If there's one positive Thomas Jones had himself a nice day.
  20. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 12:54 PM) Neither guy should pitch unless absolutely necessary. But At least Marte has the ability to come in and get out a tough LH, who doesn't hit Lh's well, and possibly get the K. Viz is good for nothing but mop up. And w/ El duque and Hermansen in the bp, he is more worthless than he's ever been........I'm pissed that Oz decided to keep Viz instead of taking McCarthy Cy. Can you tell me when the last time Marte got ANYBODY out?
  21. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 11:59 AM) Of course those hitters can do damage against Marte. Hell, give me a bat and helmet and I can take four pitches for a walk too. Hell, give me a glove and a ball and I probably can find the strike zone better than Marte.
  22. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 11:43 AM) Marte needs to be watching the game on Tuesday in the dugout wearing his black shirt of the inactive. While Bmac should be ready to go. Lefty schmefty, he cant get anyone out when he walks everyone. Yeah, and on the rare occasion when he gets one over it gets hammered somewhere.
  23. That was taken from a Suntimes article today. Can you just imagine what Anderson, Erstad, Finley and Kennedy would do to Marte? HOLY s***.
  24. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 01:38 AM) I know, I know. Cotts just seems to be the most under utilized reliever, when he's one of our best, because he hasn't been here before, and he doesn't have the experience. Doesn't stop Bobby Jenks. I still, even now, cant figure why Marte came in before Cotts the other day. We're VERY lucky the game didn't turn right there.
  25. The "DOOM" movie comes out next week. I cant wait to go see that one as Im a big fan of the video game.
