Unfortunately, IF the cubs make these deals, they are a much better team than they would have been had they not made 'em. Mensch and Soriano would be their 2nd and 3rd best hitters, and Furcal would be their best defender as well as bona fide lead off man. I hope Texas doesn't make this deal.

That's revisionist history, my friend. If the US hadn't intervened when it did, Israel would have annihilated it's attackers, and blown them to Hell.

What is in Israel's best interests are also what are in the US' best interests! BTW, the intel that Israel provides the US is well worth the financial assistance that we provide to Israel.

The point is, Israel is our ally. As such, shouldn't they be privy to whatever intelligence, defense systems, etc., as the US deems to provide them? You seem to be saying that Israel gets preferential treatment by the US, but that the US gets nothing in return for its support of Israel. This could not be further from the truth. (One need only look at when Israel took out Iran's nukes in the 80s).

Don't think for a minute that the US doesn't have spies in Israel as well.

See if you can comprehend what I'm saying, I'll write in caps so maybe it's easier for you...ISRAEL IS OUR ALLY! THEY ARE OUR ONLY ALLY IN THE MIDDLE EAST! If Israel has nukes, and if the US has supplied them with the nukes, it's because the US needs the nukes there (strategically!).
