My whole family are Democrats, if that's what you're implying!
-
You mean, the Republican-controlled Congress???
-
It is baseless drivel either, Nuke...here are the facts. 1) We now have billions of dollars in federal deficit, after Clinton left us with billions in surplus; 2) Re. the environment, Bush pulled us out of the Kyoto accord, eased pollution standards on big corporations, is trying to destroy the Alaskan wilderness for a "few drops of oil", etc. 3) Re. the "War on Terrorism", attacked the wrong country, has NO plan on how to get out of Iraq, hamstrung Israel. 4) Foreign policy...crammed bad deal after bad deal down Israel's throat.

Why doesn't he tax the wealthiest 5% heavier, and make up for the deficit that he caused? Instead he chooses to nail the poor by cutting social services.

In my humble opinion, Bush II is the worst president in my lifetime (since 1964). He has trashed the economy, the environment, kowtowed to "Big Business", his foreign policy sucks, he has continued to f**k the poor, he screwed up re. Iraq, etc. Other than that, I guess he's been okay. :puke Bush!

Black support for Bush drops to two percent
Steve Bartman's my idol replied to Controlled Chaos's topic in SLaM
I'd say that if only 2% of African-Americans support Bush, then the African-American voter is the most intelligent group of American voters. -
Yoko sucks!

Not so much "terrorist love" here anymore? Hmmmm.

I Just made the best Subway Sub ever...
Steve Bartman's my idol replied to sox4lifeinPA's topic in SLaM
Amen! Check out the subs at Bari Foods on Grand Ave and/or Fontano's (if you're in Chi!). Or the subs at Alpine, in Elmwood Park,IL! -
Harold Baines had a cannon!
-
They already figured out a way to screw it up...Mike North is hosting it!

In my most humblest of opinions, The Godfather II is the greatest film ever, a perfect 10. I'd give #1, a 9.5, and #3 a 4 (the first hour was great, the rest dragged, and Sofia Coppola couldn't act her way out of a paper bag!).

Too funny!!!

Durazo can be the "safety valve" if Frank gets hurt!
-
I will tell him...thanks!
-
Yeah...he tends to take it personally when people make anti-semitic, anti-Zionist and/or anti-Israel remarks.

I'd much rather have Frank Thomas as the Sox' DH!!!

In his ground-breaking book The Clash of Civilizations, Samuel Huntington lists scores of conflicts caused by Moslems: Bosnia, Kosovo, Turks vs. Greeks, Turks vs. Armenians, Chechens vs. Russia, Ingush vs. Ossetians, Bangladeshi Moslems vs. Buddhists, Myanmar Moslems vs. Buddhists, Indonesian and Malaysian Moslems vs. ethnic Chinese, Thai Moslems vs. their Buddhist government, Moslem East Timor government represses Catholic Indonesians, Chad and Kenya, and Tanzanian Moslems attack Christian groups in Nigeria. In addition, many current conflicts have been initiated and maintained by Moslem forces: Afghanistani Taliban and al-Qaeda, Mauritanian slavery, Sudanese slavery, Sudan's 19-year civil war, Ivory Coast's recent revolt, Nigeria's 10-year war, Algeria's 10-year war, Ethiopia vs. Eritrea, Iraqis vs. Kurds, 8 years of the Iran-Iraq War, then Kuwait, Lebanon’s 27-year occupation by Syria, Lebanon’s 12-year occupation by the PLO, The PLO's war against Jordan (1967-70), Pakistan vs. India in Kashmir, Indonesia (with Bali the latest manifestation), Arabs vs. Jews in Israel, jihad in Philippines, Islamists in Daghestan, Uighur in China, Islamic extremists in Uzbekistan, Ditto in Pakistan, Thailand's Moslem insurrection, Chechnya and Arab/Moslem involvement in Beslan, Syrian training grounds for terrorists of all creeds, colors, Iraq "insurgency" (Syrian, Iranian and Saudi terrorists), and al-Qaeda in Somalia. According to Huntington, Moslems participated in 26 of 50 ethno-political conflicts in 1993 alone. In that year, the New York Times identified 48 locations in which a total of 59 ethnic conflicts occurred. Half of these were Moslems fighting Moslems, and most of the rest were Moslems fighting non-Moslems (NY Times, 2/7/93, pp. 1 & 14, per Huntington). Similar independent analysis quoted by Huntington for that same year shows that between two-thirds and three-quarters of all the conflicts in the world were Moslems against Moslems, or Moslems against non-Moslems. Compilations of data for ensuing years also revealed that during the early 1990s, Moslems were engaged in more inter-group violence than any other group.

Ya gotta admit, he was ganged up on quite a bit.

DOes anyone else think that we could probably get Durazo relatively cheap? He's be a great replacement for Everett, IF healthy.
-
Point well taken, however, he didn't "go nuts" until he was provoked to do so.
-
If I remember correctly, when my brother (Israel Forever) criticized (radical) Islam, he was soundly criticized on these Forums. The times they are a-changin'!
-
It doesn't matter where he hit in the line up, even if he hit 9th, he should of knocked in the winning run in the 9th inning against the Twins the first game, he choked, but has picked it up the last 2 games. Lets hope he continues to do it the rest of the year.

Lets even say that we keep Paulie, who seems to want to stay, trading Contreras with his big contract, I don't know what kind of money Overbay makes, and let Frank walk, with either Paulie or Overbay as our DH, letting Carl walk, do we have enough money to sign Garland and AJ? Do we want to clinch with Garland losing to lower his value? -

We obviously will have money to spend though, who do you forsee us getting. If Paulie walks, Frank walks, and Contreras part of the deal with Overbay, that will free up quite a bit of coin.
