QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 31, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) I have an email in to Prof. Gaines, but, I really don't know what to make of this. Although this is a name we've come across in some research, I have a hard time believing the man is not Fred Fielding. Remember: Woodward was told he could reveal his source after Deep Throat died. Clearly, this man is not dead. Sorry, but my mind is a big haze right now, I've had my whole world turned on end. Shocking. I always though Deep Throat was Hal Holbrook.

Please excuse me, I'm a youngin. Does this sound legit? I was thinking that Woodward was going to say something when Deep Throat died. Guess Deep Throat beat him to the punch.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2005 -> 10:24 PM) Pitch count or not, Buehrle has been getting hit fairly hard tonight. We have a closer with a zero ERA....let him get you 3 outs. Just sayin that there isn't a pitcher on this team that I'm more confident in than Buehrle. I'd prefer that Hermy was in as well, but that doesn't make keeping Mark in there stupid either.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2005 -> 10:23 PM) Ah, f*** you Ozzie. That's a terrible decision, no other way to desribe it. Why? Buehrle's pitched well and his pitch count is still good.
-
Um...he's hitting .354?

QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ May 30, 2005 -> 10:15 PM) Can't anybody explain the crowd? half-price day, plus holiday. Or are people finally starting to get excited? Probably a little bit of all of that. Plus Frank's return. Nice weather doesn't hurt either.
-
QUOTE(AirScott @ May 30, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) it can toy with your sight, but it's not like the ball disappears either. I meant the excuse DJ made for pulling Frank.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2005 -> 10:08 PM) It's not an injury that feels good. When you're the size of Thomas, you're not going to heal very quickly. I bet we saw the last of Frank for the next 4-5 days, if not more. Well, it was nice of him to make an appearance.
-
Still like the shadow argument that DJ threw out there.
-
Strained right hip flexur for Frank.

QUOTE(nvxplorer @ May 30, 2005 -> 10:02 PM) I don't understand this one bit. Does Timo Perez has some dirt on Ozzie or something? Hell, Everett could have pinch hit. Everett hasn't been much better of late.
-
For some reason, I doubt that the shadows had anything to do with benching Frank here. I gets the feeling that Frank is aching a bit.

QUOTE(qwerty @ May 30, 2005 -> 06:55 PM) My guess for thomas tonight is 0-3 with a walk. Good call by qwerty.

The astonishing thing about Crede is that his problem is pretty obvious in my mind: SWING IS TOO f***ING LONG! Is anybody telling him this?
-
If Crede gets a HR here, I'm restarting Crede's Crew. Do I have to get rights for that?
-
QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) Now, if Crede's bunting here, I'll be pissed! Although, after seeing how crappy of a bunter he is, it might catch them by surprise.
-
I'm starting to realize the correlation between the Sox poor hitting to my increased drinking.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:41 PM) But is it soldout? Mariotti wants to know.
-
You guys notice that the players that have been kinda s***ty for us this year (Dye, Crede, Konerko & Uribe at times) are always down 0-1 and/or 0-2 in the count?
-
QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:34 PM) Anyone else notice that Majewski has a 1.25 ERA this season? Do we have that guy again?
-
Bottom line is, if you aren't really a threat offensively (as Crede has consistantly proven over the years), you should be able to lay down a bunt. For me personally, I think that if you are a major leaguer, you should know how to bunt. Hell, you are tought how to do it in little league. Now, I understand why certain hitters (power hitters) never do it, but still...

I'm almost as sick of Pauly's act as I am with Crede. At least Pauly doesn't have a history of suckiness, though.

QUOTE(Wanne @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:19 PM) Now that's funny!!!! Seriously...the argument aside from throwing Fields into the fire too quick...could he possibly be any worse than Crede? I just can't take seeing this dude in the lineup anymore. Like somebody said earlier....ENOUGH! I'm with ya. Thing is, I think the only reason that we continue to deal with Crede is that he's solid in the field. And with fielding being such a high priority on this team, I think that unless we can find a good hitting 3rd baseman that fields nearly as good as Crede, we'll be stuck with Crede. Joe Randa comes to mind, but the argument for him has already been beaten to death. So, I'll just leave that one alone.
-
QUOTE(AirScott @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) before anyone says anything more, don't be too hard on Crede. when's the last time he bunted? He's a major league baseball player. He's also a s***ty hitter. The least he could do is learn how to bunt.
