  1. Who here is glad that Anthrax isn't our GM? [Raises hand]
  2. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ May 25, 2005 -> 06:09 PM) I hope Joe Jackson can attend the ceremony. He really hasn't done a whole lot since he was in Goodfellas. Well, he was on ER last year. Looked pretty good for 106. When I think of actors who've played Shoeless Joe, I think of D.B. Sweeney. At least he batted the right way.
  3. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ May 25, 2005 -> 08:26 PM) I'm going with Ivan Calderon. Rest in Peace Ivan! Or how bout Russ Mormon? MORMON!!!
  4. Jason v. Freddie? Didn't they make a horror movie with the same name? EDIT: Being that his name is actually Jarrod, this joke is null. Sorry.
  5. I'm fine with keeping him around as long as we plan to use him and use him correctly. I'm reminded of how we handled Jon Rauch at the beginning of the '02 season (or was it '03). We gave him a start here and there, and then we let him rot away in the bullpen for weeks on end. And you can make good case that it had a little to do with hindering his development. Now, I realize that Rauch and McCarthy are night and day as far as where they are at as pitchers, but I just don't want to see us jerking McCarthy around. It could mess him up. Like I said, keep him around and use him.
  6. QUOTE(poorme @ May 25, 2005 -> 02:35 PM) uribe is what he is. it's not easy to find a good hitting SS. what about CF, RF, DH, 3B, 1B? that's what is killing the offense. I was thinking the same thing. Although, Uribe could seriously use a few days off. I like Uribe alot and we all know that his offensive hot streaks are as great as his cold streaks are bad. We'll just have to ride this cold streak out till he heats up again. Defensively, he's pretty solid, and some of us may take that for granted. And its his defense, in my mind, thats keeping him playing throughout his cold streak. He's our everyday SS, as he should be. He just needs some rest.
  7. QUOTE(thomsonmi @ May 25, 2005 -> 05:01 AM) 32-14 kids. We don't suck. No we don't. Although, our hitting tonight was making me have second thoughts.
  8. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ May 25, 2005 -> 04:59 AM) WE can....but officially MLB can't.. Damn rules. f*** the system!!!
  9. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ May 25, 2005 -> 04:55 AM) DUDE whoever expelled me is bulls***....its not a derogatory term its short for Japanese....he is Japanese isnt he.....I am freakin pissed..... The word is still frowned upon. Not saying you used it in a derogatory way, but I don't think the Japanese people like it very much.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ May 25, 2005 -> 04:52 AM) Is it Hermanson time? I hope so. I'd hate to see what this place will be like if its Shingo Time.
  11. f***ing sweet!!! Now bring Mark back out for the bottom half.
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 25, 2005 -> 04:47 AM) Anyone else think Ozuna should be pinch running? The way this game has gone, I'd even take Craig Grebeck.
  13. Ok, I cant get myself to ditch the game and go to bed. Probably just delaying the inevitable.
  14. Call Frank up now. If he struggles, he'll fit in nicely.
  15. Can Mark go 14 innings tonight? That might be how long it takes for us to score another run.
  16. I definitely wouldn't do the trade, simply because I believe BMac is the real deal. I think Chavez is a hell of a player, but ultimately, I'll take stud starter over stud 3rd baseman. And I'm not the type that likes to hold on to our prospects at all costs. BMac's is just the rare player that I'd categorize as "untouchable".
  17. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ May 24, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) are we talking about eric chavez and his .213 batting average? How is he an upgrade over the cheaper, better hitting, better fielding Joe Crede? On top of that, Brandon McCarthy our 6th starter. What are the chances of Chavez batting .213 the rest of the year. Plus, when Crede wins a gold glove, you can make the "better fielding" argument. Until then, that statement makes no sense.
  18. If Bmac is an ace in the making: don't do it. If Bmac is a #3 starter in the making: do it. Yah, I know. I kinda oversimplified the whole thing. But still...
  19. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 24, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) I watch the games, I also watch him live...Never like him as a player, never gives it his all when he is on the field. Funny, I'd almost say the exact opposite of him. He's been pretty crappy of late, but I'd hardly attribute it to a lack of effort. Even in his nuttier days, the guy has been known to give his all in the field.
  20. QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ May 24, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) Joe Crede Timo Perez Luis Viscanizo Lets bring up Brian Anderson put Hernandez in the bullpen when he gets back and make B Mac a starter and make a trade for a new 3rd baseman And what if that doesn't work?
