Based on how he hits us, is there a hitter in the bigs that you like to see less than Mike Sweeney? He's not the best out there, but he absolutely kills us. -

With the exception of Gooch and Dye, our offense looks clueless tonight. -
QUOTE(robinventura23 @ May 3, 2005 -> 08:28 PM) I think Pods trade may have set aside some cash to get those guys. Then again, maybe Hermanson was signed before the trade so what do I know. I agree. This list just didn't seem to take the "grand spectrum" of the deal into account. For us, without question, the Podsednik trade was the most valuable of the offseason. A few of the great moves that Kenny made afterwards probably don't get made without freeing up the cash with the Pods deal.
-
I personally would have put the Iguchi or Hermanson moves ahead of the Pods trade. I liked the Pods trade, but so far we are getting great results from both Iguchi and Hermanson and we didn't have to give up anybody or much money to get them.
-
Thought this was funny. As for Pods, its cool to see KW getting some props. We'll see what transpires throughout the season, but right now, its hard to argue with Kenny's results.

if we are still in first place at deadline

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 2, 2005 -> 08:15 PM) Aboz, that is by far and away the best avatar in soxtalk history It definitely is awesome, but where is the other end of the Cuban Connection? No love for El Duque? -

Well, I ain't giving up on Dye yet. But if he's playing like this come the trade deadline, we'd have to look for a guy who could carry the weight in the middle of the lineup. So far, we look solid from top to bottom in the pitching department. Our biggest weakness at the moment is the run producing from the middle of the lineup. As of late, the top and bottom of the order are holding there own. If we need anything, its somebody to drive these guys in. -
Best part: The "Kucinich '04" bumper sticker on the back of the family car.

I'm a christian, and I laughed my ass off. Then again, christianity can be quite funny sometimes. Seriously though, a show like this is successful because it's not afraid to do anything for a laugh. Some of the stuff that they do on Family Guy and other shows like it make me laugh sometimes simply cause I can't believe they said it. Still, Family Guy makes fun of just about everything, so don't take it personally.

When are we going to sell out a game?

Bad start, but welcome aboard. We really need a specific thread for all the attendence mumbo jumbo. -
to Iguchi. It's early, but so far I think he's been as good as advertised. And this is supposed to be an adjustment period for him.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 06:13 AM) Willie got plenty of coverage in the game thread courtesy of you. I think its safe to say that both Jabroni and Nuke have an unhealthy obsession over the suckage of Willie and Jermaine. Tomorrow will be another day, and you'll both have another player to hate.
-
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 06:10 AM) Does Willie's defense at 2nd base and shortstop the past few games count in your favor or mine? Two games.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 06:00 AM) Dude, anyone who read the game thread knows where you stand on this. No need to spread it into other threads. No offense, but the same can be said for this entire thread.

QUOTE(thomsonmi @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 05:32 AM) 16-5 16-5 16-5 16-5 16-5 Everyone, repeat after me.... 16-5 16-5 16-5 16-5 Maybe, just maybe, we have been spoiled by all the winning. Sox fans aren't really used to that kind of success. -

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 05:29 AM) MB got f***ed over HARDCORE tonight. The Umps and Dye ran a train on him tonight. Buehrle was throwing batting practice pitches up there. I'm not blaming the entire game on him, but to dismiss his pitching is kind of rediculous. -

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 05:08 AM) I think those complaining about the mood around here are failign to grasp how bad of a giveaway this is tonight Yah, it sucks. It will more than likely happen again. It's ok. Tomorrow's another day. We aren't going to make 4 errors a game, and Buehrle isn't going to give up 7 runs a game. Goofy s*** happens. -

Man, I love heated discussion, but some of you can sure make this place depressing. 1 game with a whole lot more left. Take a pill and put away the gun. -
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 01:41 AM) AKA Lawnmower boy. Come to my house and cut my grass b****! Classy.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 07:14 AM) And all cubs fans love Dusty cuz he's such a great manager, right. In Dusty we Trusty! Although this once was true, I don't know too many Cub fans these days who wouldn't want to take a hatchet to Dusty's head.
-
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 10:50 PM) If that's true -- then Boras absolutely ass-raped Illitch and Detroit... Boras ass-raped the Tigers regardless of Maggs injury. He aint worth that kind of money. I feel bad for Maggs in that I don't wish injury upon anyone, but I sure don't feel bad for the Tigers.

QUOTE(UC76 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 10:50 PM) If people read him it's because he's right inside the cover. BAM! He's right in your face. I just wish the Sun-Times would pick somebody else to be in the face of Chicago sports fans everyday. He's a punk. I agree. I'm just stating the reality.

QUOTE(UC76 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) When will Mariotti get run out of town? As soon as people stop reading him.
