  1. .300avg 30 HR 20 steals & a gold glove award. I'm just going to be crazy and hope that today and today only I have a special ability of predicting the future.
  2. QUOTE(Felix @ Feb 7, 2007 -> 03:10 PM) T-Minus 1:50 (give or take..) Iowa really needs this win tonight. They are coming off a great week and at mid-season are 4th in the conference and actually have some hopes of a tourney bid if they can finish strong. The key to that will start tonight against Minny. A loss here and they are probably toast (barring them going undefeated or something the rest of the way).
  3. What started out as a quiet signing day for the Hawkeyes took a huge turn for the positive this morning as four-star prospect Cedric Everson followed his heart and switched his verbal commitment from Michigan State to a signed Letter of Intent to Iowa. Awesome news and at least semi makes up for losing Smith to ND. Iowa now ranked as the 27th best recruiting class in the country. ISU @ 59 according to Rivals.
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 09:05 PM) It's supposed to go to the best prognosticator but since I was not nominated it will not be going to the most deserving poster this year. Your just lucky cause I'd have that award locked up if I were in it. Lets see...called the Sox acquiring Randy Johnson and Aubrey Huff.....but I did call the Tigers being our biggest competition. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 09:57 PM) Haha, who do you think nominated your ass? And I may be nominated for a few but Fathom is taking it to me in two of them and Gage in the other. Don't worry, I'm pretty sure you get the win over me since I'm not actually eligible as a HOF member but somehow I got put into that one.
  5. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 08:17 PM) I've had questions about Morris from the very beginning. I have never seen past seasons, so I don't have any knowledge of his previous history, but he seems shaky to me. This is his first year on the show (at least I think it is).
  6. Cold because I can sleep. If it is 100 + and humid I'll get absolutely no sleep at night.
  7. Has a surprisingly good year....275, 8 HR, 14 SB and plays great defensively in LF and good enough in CF. Ends up becoming a starter (playing most of the time for Pods).
  8. Oden. Durant has closed the gap a bit but in the end I take a guy that can be the best big in the NBA and it has been proven over the history of the game that the best bigs get championship rings. You can't always say that about the best wing players or the best guards.
  9. I love Gonzaga. A, I was at the tournament where they were first cinderella's and really enjoyed watching that team and seeing there entire school close down and support there team. And B, they televise all the games and give me some great late night college basketball on ESPN (cause they play a style of bball that is fun to watch, in fact the WCC is a pretty fun conference to watch play).
  10. QUOTE(shipps @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 10:52 AM) I wonder who they are speculating?Kwame Brown is still in the league right?hehe Phil Jackson did call him a pussy and always meow when Kwame was around But personall speaking I could care less.
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 10:06 AM) Everytime I see a graph on global warming, its a 100-200 year snapshot of average temps. This is a bit small of a snapshot when you are talking about global climate changes. Sure we have seen an increase in temps over the last 100 years, and sure it has an affect on our climate at this point in history. But if you take a look through time, the temperature of the world has fluctuated in cycles. This is the hottest the planet has been since around 1000AD. So if it was so hot back in old 1000AD what where they doing to increase the temps. Was it the population at the time, NO. Was it the large amounts of industry or technology, NO. Then why was it so hot back then. Maybe its just a cycle that happens. I know Al Gore built the internet and all but come on. For every theory on global warming being caused by people only, there are others. There is a theory that our climate is more affected on the slight deviations in the tilt of the axis of the earth and its deviations in its orbit that have slow, but farther reaching climate changes then Betsy and her SUV. That has been what I have long said. I think right now we are in a period of global warming but the key is that the history of the earth has had many weather cycles, some with global cooling and others with global warming. I remember in some of my college science classes a few of us were talking with the professor about issues like this and one of the things he pointed out about CO2 was that graph SSI posted (I had forgotten about it but seeing it reminded me). I've long said the debate shouldn't be about the warming (although if people want to so be it) but I do know that polluting the air can't be good for us to breath and polluting the water can't be good since we eat fish out of it and rely on many of the things. I just think its common sense we should do our best to recycle/reuse things as well as consistently lower toxins that we release (not because of global warming, but because it will keep things cleaner. But do I think we are going to cause the polar ice caps to melt and the entire world to flood, no. I think that is up to the earth (now if we set off a nuclear holocaust, well than who knows what will happen but that is by far a greater fear to me than dying in a flood due to the polar ice caps melting).
  12. Umm I'd just like to point out this drug policy slamming is a bunch of crap. They would have had tighter drug policies but it took a zillion times of public outcry and legal pressure to get the PLAYERS UNION to cave in on this and make it an outcry. What was Selig going to do, let the game go into another strike over drug testing (because if the owners had fought for it a few years back that is exactly what would have happened). And this exclusive rights deal with DirectTV in no way shape or form violates there anti trust agreement.
  13. Dustin is the epitome of class and I wish him nothing but the best of luck.
  14. I freaking loved those books as a kid.
  15. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 10:04 AM) Anybody think that Morris could possibly still be a mole here.... I'm thinking that he sent the message that his brother was going to the hospital to CTU himself. McCarthy also mentioned that he needed to use an outside source to get a hold of the picture that he uploaded for Fayed. Also nice that we finally get to meet the new VP. Looks like Lennox and him will always have underlying agendas past Palmer's control. Morris is a good guy and I have a feeling he's going to be around yet another season.
  16. QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 06:43 AM) Can't find the link but I heard that this is not a done deal for sure yet and someone in Senate is trying to block this deal. I will look for the story and edit this post if/when I can find it. Ya, John Kerry is involved. I'm holding out hope that either the senate blocks this or that just the added pressure has MLB back out and do a non exclusive deal (basically how they did in prior years) with the new MLB channel being part of more premium packages (as opposed to basic packages). Still I don't think this is an issue the senate should get involved in.
  17. There really aren't any position guys to get excited for but there is a good chance both Sweeney and Fields will be in AAA and those are two guys to obviously watch and while I think very little of Owens the Sox still give him a chance because he has speed (he just needs to figure out how to use it). It is the pitching staff that will be worth watching down in Charlotte. Also I want to point out that all of the milb.com rosters are not reflective of what the final roster will be.
  18. I want to point out I have absolutely no problem if Rivera leaves. We can promote Babich who is more of a Lovie guy anyway. And yes I have a problem with Rivera's defensive game plan.
  19. You want a dumb comment, Iowa will beat Wisconsin in Wiscy this weekend. There you have it
  20. I really look forward to reading about your experiences in Iraq. Stay safe out there and god bless you and the rest of our armed forces!!!!!
  21. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 03:50 PM) MLB.TV is upping their streams to 700 kbps this season, so the picture should be fine. What was the current stream?
  22. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 10:48 AM) Wait, isn't Fullerton decent this year? UC Riverside is flat out horrid. Fullerton are the favorites to represent the big west in the NCAA dance and yes Riverside is not very good but at least it was a road loss.
  23. I like the Kfed commercial and that one chevy commercial with the old men dancing to the car wash song (it was wrong on many levels yet hillarious). And basically they were the only worthwhile commercials of the superbowl. Last year was the worse I ever remember and this year was 2nd worse. That said I was focused on the game and in the 2nd half I had my head burried in a pillow during most of the commercials (since they were going to commercial as a result of a turnover by the Bears, a 3 and out by the Bears, or another Colts score.
