  1. QUOTE(shipps @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 02:28 AM) Am I the only one that gets nostalgic when it first gets warm and the time has changed? First gets warm...its been in the mid 70's the past 10 days out here My soccer team now has a two game winning streak....after losing our first 5 games of the season, this was quite a feat!!!!!!

    QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Mar 15, 2007 -> 07:38 AM) Claire never even knew her father's name, so I'd be a bit of a stretch for them to just figure it out without the others telling them. I believe in the preview for next week that there was a very angry Locke holding a gun and shouting "I'm not here for Jack!" Ya, I think that he's there for revenge because he was one of the few that trusted the head honcho over at the others camp and I think it is similar to when Locke trusted the kid at the drug farm (he's been burned too many times and he's out for revenge and the kill).

    QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 15, 2007 -> 04:29 AM) That was another good episode. It will be interesting as Desmond's secret gets less and less secret, how that gets handled. You know people aren't going to be able to keep something that good to themselves. Locke has his weekly run of "I did it my way"'s, which ended up killing the Russian, not to mention really putting an odd distrust in the air. Where did he find the C-4 exactly if he never went into the basement, and why didn't he tell anyone else? There is something we don't know going on there, and its getting to the point where I don't really trust him. He totally avoided Kate when she asked about him about saving Jack. The scene are the barrier was pretty cool. Part of me was wondering if the death scene was a fake job, except that was pretty convincing with the blood out of the ears and such. They haven't done the whole fake death thing yet, but it still wouldn't surprise me. The revelation about Clair and Jack being sibs took long enough to happen. I caught that when they tipped it earlier a season or two ago, but it was nice to have in the open. I wonder how long until they figure it out? Remember, Locke was the last to leave the house so he probably found the C-4, took some of it and knowingly blue the flame up. What the reasons were, we don't know. I also found it very interesting when people were about to find out about Locke being paralyzed the Russian died. I wonder if he's hiding it for some strange reason. The episode was relatively weak though until the end which was just WOW. Lost has gotten too spread out and is trying to involve too many characters and I think they are best going back to the basics. Over the first two seasons they got us attached to a certain group of lead characters and than some of those characters died and I like adding new ones but I think those additions should be secondary and not the focal point of various episodes (do little smaller side ones and slowly develop newer characters or less popular ones). Just my opinion and I truly think the main reason I complain is this show was so so good for the first two seasons. Also this long break hurt the show big time cause it killed the momentum. I was digging season 3 up until the break and than things simmer. I just hope it can survive and get the momentum churning again.
  4. Rose should never even smell the hall. No way, no how, never.
  5. QUOTE(StatManDu @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 07:14 PM) Fellow Sox Fans, I saw Jenks pitch today and I thought his sole purpose was to work on his breaking pitch. He threw it in all situations in the count and didn't look too interested in unleashing the trademark fastball. I was watching at work so I had the sound down so I am not sure if Hawk or Zzzzzzzzz.J. talked about that. www.whitesoxalmanac.com It would make sense. He really hasn't thrown any breaking pitches all of camp so I think its a good sign that he's feeling good enough to start focusing on his breaking stuff so he can get a feel of that by the start of the season.
  6. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 07:28 PM) Don't tell that to Jason Gage. He'll cut you. Ya, I've long been the guy that said he has more power potential than anyone in the org (with the possible exception of Chris Carter and well I used to say Brandon Allen but he was so freaking terrible last year that I can't say his name without being embarassed). Unfortunately Carter may be the next Collaro as opposed to the next Troy Glaus (thats the type of power I think Carter has). And no by all means I Think the odds of Collaro figuring it out and turning into a 40 hr hitter at the major league level are extremely low, but I do think he has the ability, if he was able to figure out how to hit for a decent average, cut the k's and post a high OBP to be a pretty good money ball type player (on the very high end...its just the odds of him reaching it are very very low).
  7. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 07:53 PM) The only question I have is why Dewon Day is on that list? There's other guys who could have been in instead of him. I feel he is alittle too old to be considered a spect at 26 yrs. (going on 27 this year) The same could be said about Rogo even though I don't mind him being on though. I'll say this..Day does make the top 25 and if you want to blame anyone for him being on there I'd be the one to blame. But from the people I've talked to and from what I've seen the org thinks pretty highly of Day (for a prospect thats 26, so I'm not saying he's a guaranteed star or even a guaranteed major leaguer) but you just can't teach the juice he's got on the heater and he's really made strides with his delivery and tempo as of late.
  8. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 04:53 PM) I hate f***ing waking up and it's dark outside. I love the time changes.
  9. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) good, you keep you're hybrid cars and Paris Hilton's out of South Dakota seriously, who needs Paris Hilton when there are herds of cattle everywhere? Paris would probably give the cows some new cow flu.
  10. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 03:57 PM) what is this California you all speak about? Don't worry about it...you aren't welcome here
  11. Sox hire Jason Gage away from a large CPA firm to be the asst. general manager. In the press conference, Gage says he swears he won't "Gage" the Sox.
  12. I know....it was you and Dan that demanded he be #1.
  13. I bet Alex Woodson is number 1 on a certain persons list.
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 01:39 PM) I like USC in that game, I really do. Also, just saying, NMSU is athletic enough to stick with UT. I personally believe Texas is a tad overrated, jmo. I too like USC.
  15. Maybe if we got Cole Hammels too.
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 12:59 PM) I could see them losing, but all they have to do is roll out the basketballs and they are in the elite 8 with the road they were given. BC and Tech aren't anything, and Wazzu is pedestrian. Call me crazy, but I like the way BC matches up against them. Albeit, I am not that confident in having BC go that far after they have came crashing back to reality as of late.
  17. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 12:47 PM) Ha! Richards would have gotten his ass kicked. I hope Jenks wasn't really about to tackle him. I don't know why but I figure that stuff happens. At least it wasn't like Angels camp when Discarscina's career officially ended (after quite a few comebacks) when he had his elbow broken by a fungo bat. And now Gary D. does stuff for NESN.
  18. I just signed up. Are we still a team short? Cause if so my buddy is raring to stay in the league.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 10:53 AM) I definitely agree with the fact that McCarthy trade is looking good. However, just as you said it seems Danks is being rushed, doesn't it also feel like Floyd is being rushed? After his season last year, we seemed to just throw him right into the 5th starter race. Oh well....I just hope that Danks wins the role, and it's not handed to Floyd. Thats why I have no problem getting a guy like Lieber or Pavano if we are giving up a few scrub prospects to get them and just eating a bit of money. Those type of guys would buy the Sox a little bit more time so that we can better prepare Danks/Floyd for the majors. And no, unlike Flash, I don't consider that a move that gets us another starter an indication that Floyd or Danks are failures, rather I see it as just being a way to buy a little more time and potentially open up the possibilities of moving someone like Buehrle for value if it does become evident he is for sure gone.
  20. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 10:50 AM) Same here. Georgetown is my champ. I must be one of the few that has Georgetown going out relatively early.
  21. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 09:57 PM) A few notes... - Those complaining about the game freezing on 360, if you don't have the intercooler, I suggest you get one. I logged about 10 hours today and not once did it freeze. - Glitch wise, the only thing I notice is that when making a pitching change in the middle of the inning, sometimes the original pitcher would be in the cut scene or highlight. - Nothing to complain about yet in Franchise Mode. Maybe trading players is a bit too easy though. I got Hanley Ramirez, Miguel Olivo, and Cody Ross from the Marlins for Cintron, Erstad, and Hall. Oh, and here are the fake names minor leaguers that I know of so far... Bill Gordon - Ben Grieve Lloyd Blevins - Lance Broadway Nate Reyes - Nick Regilio Cody Blum - Chad Bentz Ron Boyd - Ryan Bukvich Jerry Douglass - John Danks Nate Martin - Nick Masset Ralph Vaughn - Robert Valido Gene Gross - Gio Gonzalez Chris Hunter - Charles Haeger I want to point out that the intercooler is not recommended by Microsoft. In fact I've read on numerous microsoft forums that actually does more harm than good.
  22. Funny stuff.
  23. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 10:27 PM) http://www.courierpress.com/news/2007/mar/...ooks-for-coach/ BOOO...fire alford...hire Neal.
  24. Florida UNC Ohio State UCLA I have UCLA over Ohio State in the final. That said I'm not positive on whether UNC will be in my final 4 or not. They are there right now, but that could change.
  25. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 02:05 AM) And good timing for him; What type of average, offensive performance etc. do you think BA is going to have to end up with, if he's going to win this CF job? It shouldn't be too tough. Pods will be on the DL and Erstad will be the starter in LF so I don't see many scenarios that don't involve BA breaking camp as our starting CF (at least early in the season). The thing is that he will have to play well to keep that job (if Erstad is still healthy when Pods comes back).
