  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 09:04 AM) I was wearing my black Pea Coat so it might have been me.. And believe it.. it was worse then when we were at the Ravens game. Brrr.... Does that have a furry hood or some sort? If it does, than you were once again famous and on national TV I think if I were at the game yesterday, I'd have just had the hot chocolate guy sit on the steps cause I'd need it all the time (not only does it warm your hands when you hold it, but it warms you up when you drink it).
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 08:56 AM) Hehe... I was wrapped up good. I never Tivo the Bears games so I wouldn't be able to go look anyway. Figures.. I'm never on when I fix my hair. Just when I'm crying or wrapped in 15lbs of clothes. I could see a few inches of face and the eyes so that was the only view. It was a closeup of you, so I couldn't see anyone to the left or right. The person was wearing like a black jacket and was totally covered up. I just thought about how cold I was at the Ravens game. I couldn't imagine being there last night.
  3. WS/Kanny/Bristol/Charlotte are all very close. Bham and Great Falls are the only ones farther away and Bham isnt' that far away (if your flying). There was definately a reason behind it, because it allows there roving minor league instructors and scouts (as well as Wilder and others) to be able to easily go into an area and see a bunch of players. Guys like Kirk Champion are always on the road going to one of those areas, so the less time they spend traveling, the more time they can spend working with the prospects. Its a fun trip too.
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 06:43 AM) Holy crap.. I am still not completely thawed out. By half time my fingers and toes - under several layers of socks, gloves, ski boots and about a case of those damn hand and feet warmers.. were a nice shade of blue and had no feeling. Beer froze within minutes of it being poured, quite a site. The crowd was amazing. Steff, I'm not positive, but I think at one point they showed you entirely bundled up (you could barely see anything so it may not have been you).
  5. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) Ehh, Green Bay is a horrible team....we have a real QB, you know Favre will make a couple completely retarted throws. Might be a close game, but it's a win. We probably should have lost to them two weeks ago.
  6. QUOTE(qwerty @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) Would just like to say LOLOLOL to white sox josh's boy, orton. I still give Orton credit. He did a hell of a job as a 4th round rookie on a team thats going to hopefully make the playoffs (until its official, I'll stick with this). Rex (if healthY) and if he can continue to improve the next couple weeks will make the Bears a much scarier team in the playoffs. I admit, I was wrong and I'm glad, Rexy!!!
  7. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) Jason knows whom was behind Rex 10 times outta 10.... Jason... you were jazzed up? i was hard. love it. Mark, from day one I remember you giddy when the Bears drafted Rex. Hell, I'm about to call him Sexy Rexy (although I know you got that patented). If he can build on what he did today (ie the offense actually moving the ball) than its gonna be a really good Christmas and maybe a better January. Its gonna be tough on Christmas though. Packers have a good defense and you know they'll want it badly. Defense is gonna have to be on its game again.
  8. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 09:08 PM) You get that feeling when Rex cames in, something was different in the air. It was weird. Rex is so strong armed, so decisive, and so quick to release. I Rex. i hope he stays heatlhy and can get out there and keep playing for a long time in Chicago. The Bears just really seemed to gel once he came in. He still made a mistake or two, but he made good decisions for the most part and was throwing strikes (and bullets to boot).
  9. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 09:06 PM) Thoughts on the QB change? Can't complain. Grossman came in and looked awesome. He's going to have his ups and downs but if the Bears were going to make a change, it had to be this week (that way Rex can have a few weeks to get comfortable). I now remember why I loved Rex so much. He has such a quick release and he gets the ball out in a hurry (which really helps out). The team just looked so cocky in the 2nd half, it was great. I also must admit, I was really jazzed up when I saw Rex come into the huddle.
  10. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 07:13 PM) Comparing his qb rating to some of the all time greats their rookie seasons. Fouts, Elway, Manning, and there were a few more I forgot. Orton had a better qb rating then all of them outside of Manning who had a 71 qb rating his first year while Orton has a 69 qb rating. I know it's hard for you guys cause you're in the middle of a playoff chase but it's just unrealistic to expect a rookie qb to be even good in his first year, it almost never happens. Thats what I keep saying. I think we have our QB of the present and future on the roster right now and I tend to think that guy is the starter (although Grossman could very well be it, cause they both have the tools).
  11. Dbaho...be very very quiet, the Boys got CLOBBERED. Wow what a whooping. Now its time to get ready for the Bears game WOOT.
  12. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 02:08 PM) Vikings looked awfully good today. It's amazing what happens when you play a real NFL team. The Steelers are looking great. They are definately a team to reckon with in the playoffs, although they definately aren't locks anymore (although they got an easy finish of the schedule). Chargers still have the Chiefs and I believe the Broncos'. Jags should be in good shape too (although right now they are beatable with Gerrad at the helm).
  13. This should make up for my USC/UCLA prediction. For a good amount of time this year, one of the statements I've long made is that the Bolts would take out the Colts either in the regular season or post-season. I didn't say when, but I said it would happen. I think the Chargers match up well with the Colts. A healthy Steelers team does as well, as does Jacksonville (with Leftwich). Cinncy could make it interesting in the playoffs as well, but there defense is bad and Rudi isn't LT.
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Dec 17, 2005 -> 11:58 AM) If they run into each other it's going to be at the RCA Dome and there's not much of a shot for anyone there. Ya, than I'll be b****ing for my hatred of domes. I don't see a shot in hell for the Pats to do it, but somehow they are going to get into the playoffs this year and I will always root for the Pats as long as Brady is at the helm (my favorite non Bear). Plus they have done a good job keeping Peyton and the Colts down for a few years. Hopefully they can do it again (and we all know my extreme hatred for the Colts).
  15. Go Pats Go I have a serious man crush on the way the Pats do things. I hope to hell they can get rolling and somehow shock Indy in the playoffs.
  16. He'd be a nice fit (but I wonder if he'll demand too big of a contract; compared to what he's worth). I also think Reggie Wayne would look nice. The Bears definately need to find a FA WR and than go for a TE in the 1st round (if somehow Mercedes fell there well, wow).
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 17, 2005 -> 11:07 AM) Yeah...because the thing that hurt Boston last year was that they had too much pitching and not enough offense out of their outfield. I could see this happening...if Boston was willing to include enough cash to cover Clement's deal. Plus Cleveland wanted Clement last yr, IIRC.
  18. What do you guys think he signs. I'm thinking he inks up another 2 years (with a 3rd year option). Basically put, we'd have him next year and than 2 more for sure. The question is money, maybe he'll take a larger discount since he has finally found a home with the Sox.
  19. I can't answer that question now. We have no idea what the final part of the roster looks like. I'd need to know who our 5 starters are and who we were carrying in the pen (and how many pitchers we were carrying). Plus we have no idea whether Timo or Willie or Gload will be back, so no point in even offering up a guess at this point.
  20. My fear is that we've weakened the pen. Kenny finds one or two good arms to join us in the pen and I'll be feeling a lot better. And despite what some of you say, Viz and Marte aren't going to be super easy to replace. Solid relievers don't just grow on trees, if they did, they wouldn't be getting the ridiculous contracts they are (this year especially). I really hope Baj/Tracey can step up and they are both just awesome character guys (Tracey with a great arm and Baj with unbelievable sucess and poise). However, to expect either of them to even come close to doing what Viz did (plus you got to remember Hermy will be a major ?) well thats unrealistic, in fact they could be awful (sure they could be great, but I think the odds are that they'll be up and down in there first year).
  21. Since when was Josh Stewart a top pitching prospect? I have nothing against the guy, but a lot of you saw something that no one else really saw. Could he have been a serviceable 5th starter, maybe, but he would never be anything more than that. He had lousy stuff and to top it off he didn't have pin-point control. Thats just not a good combination. Nothing wrong with his work ethic though and it stunk he had to take that ball off his chest. But man, where some of you guys got this idea that Stewart was going to be this great pitcher, well I'm miffed. Felix Diaz was a better prospect than Stewart (much better) and we know he'll never be a good 5th starter.
  22. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) Hey guys, I've got a question. I've been working at Blockbuster part time (for the 5 movies a week.) and I'm cutting ties so I don't have the extra w2 for '06 tax year. My question: If I work Dec 26, but get paid on Jan 6th 2006, what tax year will I put that under? if it's 06, I'm not working. if it's '05, then we're good. 06. The only way it would be 05 is if the check was ready for you to pick up in 05, but you just let it sit there and didn't pick it up till 06.
  23. Tom Brady rocks. God I wish the Bears had him. Best QB in the NFL.
