Defense played well and offense was better. Fields still was a tad slow on decision making at times - but also threw some dimes and had some special plays. Nice to see the Mooney I expect all year and Robinson showed up finally later on as well. Hopefully Montgomery injury not a tear. But nice bounce back performance and nice to see how Fields responded to that kind of adversity after his first start.

So last week I expected Fields to suck. This week I expect he will still kill some drives and take needless sacks and make some mistakes…but I also expect to see some wow plays too.

It’s back to don’t force them into bad habits…put them in a spot that they are ready to learn and grow.

I agree -> they will find money but I also suspect they'll get some sweet heart deals to from Arlington, etc. And i expect them to move but I also wouldn't be shocked if a last ditch major effort came out of nowhere either.

Rams did have cash -> but I think people underestimate what Arlington will do for Bears too. If not -> than this is just a negotiation tactic and we'll figure that out in another year or as some have said Bears are positioning for a sale but I kind of expect we'll see public funding / special treatment at Arlington.

I expect Bears, if serious, would put pedal to mettle and be in a position to where they are breaking ground a year from now to be in a position to be in the new stadium the very first year they can opt out of the lease. $85M or whatever it is is rounding relative to the Billions the stadium will cost.

I have long said cable is still better and things would shift back that way. That said my direct tv stream (previously att stream) works good with my bundle discounts and my taxes and fees are way less than when I had regular cable despite my user experience being exact same. With bundle discount basically same as before other than I can use device in two places which had helped reduce some costs for my mom but have easy access to my limited dvr etc. No contract so could always switch if they back up prices etc.

Thus far -> total F. The highest profile move they made was for an expensive, elite reliever and they paid a premium price. The player has an ERA over 5...yes he could be dynamic in the playoffs and that would change the grade but as of today...nothing short of an F. The Hernandez move, one I liked at the time, has had its challenges too, with the best move thus far really having been the Tepera move. But no other way of saying that the moves were a total F.

I completely agree. I don't think he got a lot of time against #1's either so this was a rude awakening for him and quite frankly good for his development (since he didn't get hurt). But this is why I thought it was best to sit him a bit longer so he could see it, but I'd also say the Bears should have thrown him into the ringer a bit more during preseason / training camp too. And when you combine with a Browns defensive front that is that dynamic and play calling that left him very exposed..and the combination wasn't good. I would expect we see a lot more play-action, quick hitting type of plays and a much more balanced rush attack and more help on blockers, etc in game against the Lions. Why those things weren't there against the Browns - I have no idea. I was hoping when the half ended the script would change in 2nd half but boy they didn't make any real adjustments which was what aggravated me more than anything.

I was wondering the same thing. I have a pretty small kitchen and when I looked to get new cabinets plus countertops in and shopped around pretty good it was going to be somewhere between 15K. That was for quartz and modern shaker style cabinets. But everything was pre built so not a custom job or anything along those lines.

I will also say that the overreaction is tough and I fully expect we'll see major steps forward which is all that matters. I come to zero conclusion on Fields based upon this performance.

This - the game plan was just so bad that it makes you wonder.

I do wonder with Nagy on the whole set-up for failure, was there an aspect of, this guy is special...let me see how much he can really do but also kind of give him that rude awakening to put that extra hunger. I'm not saying there is logic to it (cause its not something I would do) but there wasn't much any logic in the entire decision. No max protection -> no quick hitting plays -> not using the ground game -> no screen game (given how much the Browns were pinning back and rushing the passer the RB screen game should have been a pretty good counter).

The only difference is Trestmam has more hc leadership competencies…he just is clueless at running an offense at its full and gets in the way of himself. If he took himself out of it and just added some input etc he probably would be pretty good but that is many years gone at this point. I would also say - many very good qbs suck early so I always expected a crap performance but how the bears strategy player into maximizing that is what is frustrating.

I agree with this and wish there was a head coach they could just grab and hit reset now.

Trading for Fields was right thing to do. Don’t like Pace for many other reasons but Fields can single-handedly change the destination of this franchise and if he doesn’t a new regime is in charge one or two years from now hitting a true reset. If not - a new regime may still come in but with a ton of hope with a really talented young QB.

This was exactly what I expected the game to be. Told my wife before game started. Browns dline stellar, Fields raw and holds onto ball way too long, and the oline is not good. Add in lack of chipping and that was one of worst offensive performances I ever saw. Part is probably on Nagy but a lot of that is on oline and fields. Doesn’t mean anything in long run for Fields but just shows that he has a lot to learn. Let’s see how quick he is at learning and making adjustments. Look at Deshaun Watson and his entry into the league. He came into a game after injury, sucked in his first start, than had a coming out party shortly after. Not saying it will be that way for Fields but who knows. This browns game was the last place I wanted him making his first start but alas it happened. And Nagy probably is a turd of a head coach despite some positive attributes he is a total bum at actually calling plays and putting his qb in position to suceed.

But the important part being - you are now in a much better place which is awesome!!! And 2021 will be better than 2008 in terms of on field postseason results too!!!

Its why I say -> I'll take the Braves and I enjoyed this season a ton and regardless of what happens in October this was a fun year. Meaningful baseball with lots of wins is fun and the team has a lot of likeable guys too.
