Was he not at second when a dp was turned. I thought it was him who fielded a grounder and did a glove flip of the ball to Mendick for a dp. But maybe someone else was on 2b at that time?
-
I was wondering what Qatar was doing in gold cup too.
-
Wow - I get why Lakers did it - I also don't blame the Wizards. I wonder what they do with Beal - presume move him and kind of start over (which isn't the end of the world).
-
Lakers might get Westbrook
-
Hopefully - we will see Rey Lo look electric later today.
-
This - it is why I have said if I were to make moves - I would be adding an arm - I would go for Scherzer or something like that vs. anything else (if I was going to use legit resources) - because I doubt whether Rodon (who I am one of the biggest fans of on this entire board) - can possibly maintain that workload. It would be nice - just can't bank on it. That said I still think this team is as well positioned as anyone in baseball to win the series.
-
Kris Bryant with an extension....presume that reliever.
-
This is the one thing I really don't understand - I don't get why they aren't giving him extended rest at this point.
-
For all you whiners - this lineup is adding 3 guys with legit 30 HR power (some even more) + a guy on pace for 20+ homers in Hernandez. Yeah - lets worry about the last week where the team that has been playing down half of its starting lineup finally hit a small slump. And lets not even forget the fact that getting those bats back in the lineup will strengthen the depth of the team and make its other top players better (i.e., Anderson/Moncada/Abreu get protection/less pressure on them). Everyone on here really unerestimates how much talent this team will get back over next few weeks (Eloy here; Hernandez here tomorrow (not on same par as others), Robert (soon), Grandall (sooner).
-
They will win today.
-
Not worried at all. Marathon not a sprint - this team is in a great spot and once Eloy and Robert get their thing back and they get Grandall back even sweeter. Team will finish 25 games above .500 and be in a great spot for a deep postseason run/world series championship.

Its the same - my wife & daughter like gymanastics but its harder to watch if I don't know whether this person is going to make it or not. That said - got my espn breaking news alert this morning re: this mornings results.

This is a real nice deal - he was due for a positive regression in his average, can play some d, has an option for next year at a reasonable price (gives them depth), can play nice d, and if you adjust for his BAPIP regression - he'd have a pretty solid OBP. My original reaction was meh - but it has shifted to this is a real nice move. -
GM has right to wait on pulling trigger on a trade - this team is 8 or 9 games up - not 3 games back and falling. Any move Sox makes is for post-season - not to get into post-season. If they don't get into the post-season something went horribly wrong.

Yeah - the olympics has been rough - cause my wife tells me and I'd rather not know. prefer the drama to unfold before my eyes.
-
Wow - what a relay - Ledecky was a beast to get US to silver. That was fun. Love the time zone where so many of this events are live late for me on the west coast (especially since its during a busy time while I'm working still).
-
Swimming is my favorite - and I too like winter - but man summer is so awesome. This relay is interesting - crazy how Titus got beat by someone in the 200.
-
Ansd how tight the race is. .06 seconds. Crazy and awesome.
-
I love getting to see people who put so much into things for literally one or two events - just spectacular and the raw emotions etc. I love the olympics - but especially summer olympics. And we havent' even started track and field yet!
-
Real good outfield defense from Engel and Hamilton there.
-
I agree - if I had to use a chip it is on a reliever or someone I have control over. Otherwise I’ll make some small stuff with some warm bodies that I don’t see in franchise future - but that is it. But I am way on my own island with this and think club can absolutely win with Leaury at 2b.
-
I go back to - this team is awesome with or without a move. Almost all moves being discussed increase World Series odds a percent or two at best. With that in mind - I continue to believe an org with the payroll constrains this one has - is typically better off being conservative on the deal side vs aggressive. Chips key for long run and flexibility when those assets can be used for > percentage point increases (or leveraging an area of depth to fill a lt area of weakness). That said - I don’t think the above is what Hahn will do. I feel he will try to swing big.
-
Hope Biles can find a way to get back by the end and crush it in standalone events.
-
I love the Olympics - needs a thread. Crazy with Biles now out of the all around competition now too. Cool to see Ledecky come back after struggling in 200 to crush it in the 1500. Can't believe having to do 2 events in such short of a time frame (and to come back from that first loss to crush it the next time is huge).
