My state will be the same once the crazy recall goes through and some person with like 25 percent of the vote gets in.

It is crazy schools arent required to distance and mask up - especially given how delta is more infectious for kids. Risks won’t go away but they are certainly reduced which seems like a no brained but hey what do I know.

COVID Thread Part Deux
Seems like the booster on all of them is significantly stronger than the original one dose or two dose shots anyone got. So even if only half of the people who got the vaccine got the booster - that combined with kids and non vaccinated people getting vaccinated as well as more people having got delta (thus some immunity for those that overcame it)…that has to be a good sign when we fast forward a few months…and fact more people are getting vaccine has to be a good thing so maybe we are a few weeks away from what could be the sustained real good trend we expected. The wild card being with delta we are going to see more school spread than last year (both delta being more contagious and fact that much higher percentage of kids back in school).

When I heard he was going to be one of the guys this year I was excited. Than I heard him earlier this year and I was like this is awful. Frank is awesome but I guess he doesn’t want to do it. I was hoping Gordon would be better this time and he is a bit better - but that is only cause it could literally not have been any worse than his first go round.

COVID Thread Part Deux
The one bright side - and I have no idea if it had legs - but I think small sample size data was showing the booster shot (3rd shot vs. 2nd shot) to being like 5x more effective. To be honest - not sure how it could be that valid/meaningful of a data set (but it was coming from Israel) who started giving boosters a few weeks to a month back. I presume take up will be on the slower side - but will be interesting how everything plays out - with more people infected, more people unvaccinated getting vaccinated, and than people getting boosters - maybe all of that does something that gets us even lower than where we were right before Delta exploded (and that we can get more permanently get to that point).

Rodon to IL with Shoulder Fatigue
This was what I wanted. I didn't want to shut him down - but made t pretty clear they should skip some starts and give him extended rest. I think in general they should be doing that across the entire rotation - but more aggressively with Rodon than others...but in general, they should get guys more extended breaks and I'd be open to having every guy skip a start or two between now and the postseason.

NFL 2021 offseason thread
I think if Fields looks good and young players look solid - Pace stays. Nagy on the other hand, If the play calling is suspect and its more talk, etc, I could see the opposite happening to him. That said - realistically, as long as Fields looks the part - I suspect both get to stick around...most notably Pace. I am not going to jump to too many conclusions from this past week's game...it wasn't as if Dalton had a starting line out there (although we might say that on day 1 of the regular season 2) and I don't think he had like any weapon out there (what was it him and 1 other starter played on offense). Defense was embarassed...so that is something to worry about...but they too were holding guys back and playing vanilla. Maybe a swift kick in the rear was what they needed. But like you said DA - I don't expect them to be very good either way. I figure they are a mediocre team with Dalton or with Fields and this is really all about getting Fields put into the fold at the right time, more than anything else. That said - Dalton is going to be on a shorter leash than I suspected...partly due to his ability to fit with this line (no shocker...same thing happened with Foles...bad olines are not good fit for immobile QB's) and his own play (or lack of play...but I'll downplay that because he's a vet and really hasn't many plays with his real starters out there).

Is there something wrong with TA
Up double digits gives you the luxury of doing this. I don't really get why everyone is complaining - the inverse should be true - we should be happy they are in this spot, but asking the right question why some guys aren't getting a bit more rest (see Moncada, Abreu, Hernandez).

COVID Thread Part Deux
Lets keep this open - but with everything obviously ramping up...FDA approval today (full approval)...booster shots (which are evidently, in small sample size looking very effective - see Israel). If I see nonsense/unnecessary arguing & personal attacks - posts will be hidden without warning, etc (making this clear up front).

The Grandal will come out tomorrow, you can bet your bottom dollar
I think we would already see him if the team wasn’t up double digits and or the playoffs were already starting.

NFL 2021 offseason thread
I didn’t bother watching the first half of the game. But after seeing Fields stat line I thought the second half was going to not be worth the watch either. Fields actually was very impressive. Tons of penalties negated solid plays and he threw a lot of balls to right spot…suffered through some drops from his wideouts on nice plays and was lethal with his legs. He had a mistake or two, but overall he sure looks smooth back there.

Or give the 1 and 2 seeds byes to next round and than have more 3 game series etc.

NFL 2021 offseason thread
He had two straight weak practices (plus a practice in between he missed with a groin injury). In general - I don't think anyone is going to be hurt by sitting for a bit. I do think you can hurt people by putting in too soon, when they aren't ready, that they develop bad habits and regress. While I think Fields could probably handle things right away and be fine - I don't believe the Bears are a superbowl contender this year and if they wait half a season or a whole season to let Fields lose I don't think it matters (as I do believe QB's can get better by learning from a vet like Andy Dalton - like Mahomes did learning from Smith, who was at the time a better player than Dalton is today, but similar in the sense of their overall savyiness.

NFL 2021 offseason thread
Helpful - sounds like one of those things where everyone was hopeful it would naturally resolve itself, but unfortunately it didn't and thus they had to make this pivot. The hard part is obviously fact that it is hard to get in the necessary reps during the season to make an impression - but if in the long run he is okay and can develop into the player they think he is, that is what is most important. It turns out dropping Leno so quickly (and they haven't really reused the cap space) was probably not the right move (even though the team clearly wanted to move on). Leno is better than Peters at this point (and far more durable).

Did they announce it? That sucks - hopefully this gets him right. Hicks evidently left camp yesterday too, I presume over a contract situation.
