So if clippers complete there implosion…how does Lavine, white, Kwahi, Williams, vucevic sound? No idea if possible but alas, why not. I can’t stand Kwahi personality but he is still a legit star who would round out and probably pair pretty well with Lavine and Vuc.

This can't be right - I thought the Sox were amongst the lead leaders in baseball last year at sac bunts.

I figure we will get more out of Grandal, Vaughn, and Abreu. Plus having Engel back will help (not massively offensively - but will help defensively and just help the bench). I also still think Leury will be better too. In general - no one is having unsustainable offensive stats with exception of early season Yermin - but if Yermin doesn't hold up and others can't get back - you go get yourself another bat. But I also won't bet on Yermin stinking like he has recently either. Its a long season - the offense will be okay and I suspect the HR's will come and when that happens, with the OBP skills of this team and the teams ability to see pitches, etc...I like their chances.

Lets be clear - with Robert and Eloy 100% - this team is the AL favorite...not just a WS contender (this assumes the rotation holds up). Without them - they are still the best team in the AL Central and one of the best teams in baseball. This team is really good as constructed, but obviously can't afford more injuries after what they've had...and while there is probably some reversion to the mean in the rotation, I also suspect we'll see some in the pen (work in our favor) as well. This team is really good. I've consistently said it all year and I'll likely be saying it for years. People need to enjoy it. Yes this game was frustrating - they didn't get the big hits...but it happens. 162 game season, talent wins, and this team has special talent. Sit back and enjoy it.

I don't think this is true. He could be committed to playing the show and unwilling to give up and still be a bad teammate, etc.

The camera went off at one point - but it almost looked like with each step it was getting better and better - kind of like a - quick soreness. Madrigal with another real good game.

Was there any word on Kopech's injury? Saw it happen while on a conference call - so curious on the outcome. Really hoping it is really minor - he tripped and a bit spooked after he got up / mentally embarassed vs. any physical issue.

It is interesting what even 2 months make. I bought a new Highlander Hybrid 2-3 months ago and I still get some of the emails from places I had reached out to. I got in before the chip shortgage hit the prices (barely) - but got a fantastic deal (20% off). I also had gotten my father in law a deal (did the negotiation for him) on a Rav 4 - it was similar - about 20% off. I think if you are patient - you can see something similar on the Rav 4. It has to happen. But they incentives and deals I had gotten are long gone.

Nice win and 2 straight wins against a really good opponent is big after that Yankees series that could have just as easily been 2 out of 3 for the Sox (vs. a Yankee sweep). Gio has been pretty good last couple games.

Talk about some playoff games this weekend - wow - just a great start to the NBA playoffs. Honestly - I don't think I can ever think of a season as wide open as this year. Usually its just 1 or 2 teams max that are the heavy favorites to make the finals. This year - I legitmately think I could name of 6 or 7 teams and I wouldn't be surprised if any of them won the title. Brooklyn and Lakers clearly have most talent - but injuries and chemistry are real issues (probably more so for the Lakers (injury wise) who have the main 2 and those guys missed a ton of time relative to Brooklyn who has pretty much largely had 2 of their 3 around...just never really all 3).

Lavine is going to have White and Williams work out with him over the off-season. Also inviting the whole team. This is no doubt awesome as Lavines off-season workouts are pretty well regarded in league circles and also really shows him taking that extra step from a leadership perspective. Plus - White and Williams elevating their games is probably Bulls best chance from being a fringe team to jumping up to a 4/5 seed time of team with young talent who would than make franchise a potential destination for Max free agent (in 22) and or for disgruntled super star. I won’t bet on the above, but if they follow lavines intensity this off-season - I would be shocked if they didn’t take steps forward.

He was such a lethal base runner that season. Literally like an automatic double every time he got in base. I miss that and hit and runs so much in the game.

I am the opposite of you guys - I jus tlaugh at how bad the TLR thing is - but this team is so damn likeable that I could care less. I've always known ownership was never a differentiator on this franchise and not the reason you root for the team - but man this actual team - they are just so fun to watch and its been fun seeing them win way more than they lose. This game sucks and the circus show that is TLR is absurd (and more than just TLR) - but man I ain't holding anything again this guys, in fact it almost makes the actual roster even that much more enjoyable (top to bottom).

This has to be the longest winner thread in the month of May in the history of Soxtalk.

I legitimately think in this case - it is the great unifier in the clubhouse right now (as sad as that sounds).

This - it feels like the movie major league - in this case - you can replace the owner with the manager. Feels like the team is basically like - we got this and we will crush it regardless of what he does to sabotage this.
