Actually, when you look at it I'd say Fox is making a pretty good decision. They are actually putting AD in a slot where it will get every chance possible. It will be behind Simpsons and before Family Guy which is probably the best slot a new show could get. People are gonna definately be watching Family Guy and New episodes of the Simpsons is still new episodes of the Simpsons so its in a spot where it could succeed. As far as AD goes, I just never really got into it. I'm assuming they'll move it around a bit and see if it catches but it did have a pretty good slot, imo.

I happen to be a fan of Carl Rowe. I really think he's a smart guy although I'm sure many people dislike the guy.

I don't think so just because Cleveland is winning right now and playing really good basketball. Right now, as of today, Ilk is the better center. A year from now that may not be the case and I think two or three years from now it definately won't be the case, but its not like Ilk is too old and is coming to retirement so I really think the Cavs would pass on that type of deal, unless of course James doesn't like Ilk or something along those lines. I also think you can't look past the fact that curry is the worse rebounding center in the league and that probably ticks the hell out of Skiles. Luckily Deng is a good rebounder and AD/Chandler are both very good rebounders (overall the Bulls are a good rebounding team) because if not I don't know if they'd be as kind to Curry. Defensively Eddy has majorly improved this season though.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 02:10 PM) If history tells us anything, this move scares the hell out of me for a Sox fan. This guy has been awesome the past two years that have ended in an odd number(2001 - 4-6 2.74 ERA 1.15 WHIP K/9 of about 11.75, K/BB of about 3.7; 2003 - 3-2 3.30 ERA 1.17 WHIP K/9 of 10.85, K/BB of 2.5). The fact that they apparently got him for nothings is better for them. And if it allows the Cubs to get Dotel, that is an even better move for the Cubs. No matter what Dotel does as a closer, they will have both LaTroy and Dotel, and both are great setup men, bad closers, meaning one will set up, one will close...maybe they'll get lucky and the one that closes will be good. And again, that would be another good move by Beane. Their pen is pretty damn deep with the recent moves they have made, so he is dealing from a position of strength. If he can get a good package of players for Dotel, that is great for them. I do think the team that comes out the worst in this is the Cubs. They are actually going to have to give up good players, are taking on money, and are only 'guaranteed'(I quote that because nothing is a guarantee, but this is as close to one as you can get in baseball) a good setup man. This move fits exactly what Detroit is doing, because they will either be a team that clicks for like 2 months and just gets on fire and plays .700 ball and starts to run away with the division, or they will be trading at the deadline. And I've basically explained my reasoning for the A's...dealing from strength. Good analysis, but I think regardless the Tigers will be holding onto there players at the end of the season. They are trying to build this team for the longer haul and showing the fans of Detroit that they care about winning. I don't know if Detroit has the pitching yet, but they definately have a talented lineup and you gotta like Bonderman and Maroth, but in the end I think there too weak in the starting pitching department. However, you gotta like a pen with Urbina, Percy, and Farnsworth. I still think Urbina gets dealt by the start of the season, but as of now thats a nice looking back end of the pen.

Hendry is really doing a brutal job. Talent wise the Tigers made the best of this deal, however, there is one thing to look at and thats the fact that Farnsworth was allegedly one of the rotten apples in the Cubs clubhouse, along with Sosa. However, I really think Hendry is one of the most overrated GM's in baseball right now. When he first stepped onto the scene he made some good moves, but lately, I really don't know what the hell he's doing.
-
Technically that deal wouldn't work due to salary ramifications. But Ilkauskas is a pretty damn good center. I think Eddy will turn into a dominate center over the years though. However, I think both teams are pretty happy with there respected players at this time. The only reason Cleveland would drop Ilg is due to his contract, not the way he plays though, imo.
-
Plus franchising him just means he gets paid like the average of the 5 best kickers or whatever and thats not a big deal whatsoever salary wise. As far as the Bears go, look for them to sign WR Travis Taylor relatively quickly.
-
Just your friendly moderator reminder to debate the facts and not attack one another On a sidenote, my opinion is Z is the better center right now, however, given the choice and considering contracts and such I'd rather have Eddy Curry over the long haul. As long as he stays with the Bulls I really think he's gonna come close to his potential, especially with Skiles and Paxson pushing him.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 10:16 AM) Did he actually say that? I thought he said it would have "changed his thought process" or something to that effect. There is a difference there...correct me if i'm wrong, i may not have heard everything. He's pissed because he didn't get the Stanford job. He figured for sure he was gonna get that job or Washingtons and now he had to look at another way of fullfilling his career. I think his goal is to coach a year or two in NFL at an OC level, because it is a step up from being an OC at the collegiate rank and then rejoining the college ranks as a head coach. This is obviously a bit riskier but I'm sure he felt as if nothing was happening because this was the 2nd straight year where he was one of the top collegiate coordinators and still failed to get a head coaching gig.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 10:04 AM) http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=1987454 Fantastic hire. One thing that dissapointed me when the Bears got turner was that they didn't look to Chow. The other thing that pissed me off is that they didn't look at Hermencheider or whatever the hell the Titans dismissed OC's name was because he did a good job running the Titans offense, imo. If I recall the TItans OC took the Jets OC gig when Paul Hackett got ousted.

QUOTE(lvjeremylv @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 02:40 AM) Because both teams suck? I'd guess there is a shot that game gets nationally televised. Then again there are a ton of games on Sunday so who knows. I'm hoping that NBA league pass will pick up the Minny feed

QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 8, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) Just you. He needs to take the most shots per game if not curry. No more of this hinrich bulls***. He is not a shooting guard yet he thinks he is. He shoots a highers percentage than... iverson, bryant, mcgrady, allen, arenas, pierce, etc. Gordon is a hell of a shooter. As far as Hinrich goes I think you have to note that he takes some of the most difficult shots on the team, mainly because he's forced into them, especially when Gordon is out of the lineup and then Hinrich is the only shooter on the court. I have no doubt Hinrich is going to be a good shooter in this league. He already has great form and depsite hitting a bit of a wall the past 5 games or so, he's a good shooter, just needs to improve on his shot off the dribble as well as his float shot when he drives into the lane. I'm a huge Hinrich fan though so I may be biased but I like him because he plays the game right. Gordon plays the game good so far, but I want to see him improve on his passing as well as draw more fouls (he seems to be driving more as of late though). I also think as he grows he'll be able to drive and create easy shots for the big men as well or even Hinrich by kicking, but thats yet to come. Main thing Gordon needs to work on is his defense cause he's a major liability out there. I was going nuts late last game when Gordon was on Terry despite the fact the Bulls were up 8-10 late in the game and Terry kept scoring at will. Duhon is a superior defender and should be out there. I should also add that I think Duhon is gonna be a lot like Eric Snow and I think he'll turn into a decent spot up jumper as he progresses in the pro's. Already runs the offense well and is a superior defender, especially for a rookie. If you can't tell I'm a BIG BIG fan of defense because while offense can stray from game to game, defense is an energy thing and is one of those things that stays constant.
-
Nothing on him, I'll email around and see if I can find something but it may take a while cause it is the offseason. My guess is he goes by a different name.
-
Awesome game. Hinrich really stepped it up in the 4th quarter, not only making some clutch shots but by playing some mega clutch defense. This was Luol Deng's best game, but he did have more then a few errant passes and I'd like to see that cut down. He took smart shots though and really stayed within himself. Chandler played strong, so did Gordon and of course Curry had a good 2nd half.
-
Game is close at the half. Bulls had a 3 point lead late in the half and then fell behind by like 2 or 3. They have played well, even defensively, but as usual they have had some costly turnovers. There holding the Mavs to right around 40% shooting. Deng has been the teams best player tonight with Chandler and Gordon being close 2nd's. Josh Howard and Dirk are leading the Mavs. On a sidenote, I've decided the Mavericks have the NBA's hottest cheerleaders. They all got there hair in pig tails and oh man are they looking HOT.

LMAO, I was talking to an aussie at my schools baseball game the other day. Well wasn't really talking to him he just overheard our conversation when we were talking about s***ty beer and Fosters came up. I made a reference that Aussie's won't tell you its Australian beer and the guy said the stuff is actually made in Canada.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 8, 2005 -> 03:44 PM) That's part of the problem. I hate being slow at work. Plus the pay sucks, and there is no incentive for preformance. Actually with the bonus structure there is more incentive NOT to work. Are you in finance or accounting? I know kap's accounting, but I was thinking you were either finance or econ.

Off the top of my head 32. Give or take a year. He also did something else but yes, he will be in spring training or at least thats what he's been saying. And Jim, I ripped this guy to shreds when I saw him pitch last year, it was horrific. But if in fact he's learned some new pitches I guess a chance can't hurt. Still, I think he's mainly just an innings guy and who knows, maybe some other team has some minor interest in him.

For the SUV you just go into the handicap area and then reverse it. Makes it super easy.

First time a whopping 139, but I didn't even attempt the 2nd one because I got caught up on the phone. 2nd time around I got a 256. The only one I royally suck at is the first one. I can't parallel park the damn thing cause I am having trouble controlling the engine.

Not sure where we'll be staying, but it will be in the Phoenix area, probably Tempe. We just drive out cause its only like a 4 and a half to 5 hour drive from where we live in California.
