  1. Great article. Pyrz instantly became one of my favorites the day he joined the White Sox and I think he's gonna be a big time factor in the Sox success this year.

    Molested....?

Wow. Steff best wishes go out to your friend and you. At this point I don't have a clue what you could do other then be there when she talks. I couldn't even imagine something along these lines happening and the only positive I can see out of it is at least she now knows what happens and can begin to have some therapy to overcome it. God, what a bastard that uncle is. I hope they can do something legal to him and ensure he doesn't do it to anyone else.
  3. This movie is gonna be badass.
  4. I don't think you could go wrong with either. If I were drafting, it would come down to attitudes and how capable they were mentally to suceed.
  5. Tracey pitches around the the 93-95 range and can get it as high as 97, according to BA. I'd say he's more around the 91--95 range but he can reach back and put a few extra MPH when necessary. Jenks has a mean curveball and I think a change, but my mind is drawing a blank. Change isn't supposed to be all that great. He may have a slider and not a changeup. I'd have to go look at my notes on him. As far as Brice goes, some say he's good defensively but if he's playing left my take is that he's lousy defensively. Not a bad right fielder and his arm is solid. Hell of a contact hitter though.
  6. This could definately be the next type of influenza. Its a scary thought and hopefully it won't happen.
  7. QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) At the most they will sign a mle type player. Jaric is what i am hoping for honestly. He is a big guard who can pass and post up. He is another hinrich shooting the ball but a big guard would look real nice for the bulls next year. Another guy i would love to have is raja bell if the jazz do not re sign him. Which i have a feeling they will. 2006 will be the bulls spending spree which is nice since there are somedamn good free agents out there then. Jaric is a good name. When healthy the Clips haven't been too bad of a team. He's a good passer, solid defender, and not that bad of a shooter (although his stats would say otherwise). I like the idea as long as it doesn't put the Bulls in a bind the following year. No matter what, I believe this team will have to add one real good player via a hefty contract in the next year to two. Thats not a knock on the Bulls, but to be a championship team, they'll need depth and talent all over. I love the direction the team is headed though.
  8. All three are names I like. I think you'll see Micah hit around 15 hr's this year. In the future I think he's going to develop into a good homer hitter. He'll be moving on up to Winston Salem which is a better park to hit in then Kanny, imo. Liotta has a lot of skills and Gray can flat hit (I think of him in as a Durham like hitter). As far as guys in ST making a name for themselves, I don't see any rosters open, although I think you'll see Bmac have some nice flashes, but he'll also get roughed up a few times while Cotts is gonna pitch his ass off. Valdez will get the 25th spot.
  9. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:17 PM) Any chance the Sixers could trade Webber on to the Knicks now for a package of players possibly? I'd extremely doubt it, but Webber loves New York and they love him too. Why would Philly do anything like that. They don't want to help out New York and New York really doesn't have anything to offer. I'm sure Isiah wouldn't mind adding yet another big contract guy, but Philly isn't gonna be doing anything. Looks to me like they are built to make a run to the finals. Good defense and two very good offensive weapons (AI/Webber).
  10. Other then him they are in fantastic shape. I wouldn't hold it past them since they will have some caproom, to make a rather big move this offseason using some of there free payroll and AD to create room to get one max type player and then signing Curry/Chandler long term and basically the Bulls roster will be set. They may wait one more year to do something along those lines though. Regardless nothing goes down until the new cba.
  11. One of Paxson's best moves has to be moving JYD's contract and Jamal for Othella and I hope the Bulls keep Othella for a while. Seems like a very valuable role player. And this is coming from the guy who hated him a month ago.
  12. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) Doesn't make much sense to me. Kings got rid of a talented player with a bad contract in return for less talented players with bad contracts of their own. Thomas' contract doesn't run out until 09-10 I believe and Williamson after 06-07 season. Yikes. And Williamson (although a long time king a while back) is not the type of player the Kings need. All offense, no defense.
  13. QUOTE(whitesoxfan56789 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:12 PM) When you start owner mode, make sure you set your budget to HIGH or whatever on the options screen. Its far down. You can buy the more seats upgrade right away, which you NEED or your stadium looks like s***. Haha, great, you guys tell me this now, LOL. My stadium holds 20,000 and I still haven't been able to get myself a hot dog stand. But my soda stand is selling like mad. Its kind of cool, its like sim city or rollercoaster tycoon meet MVP.
  14. QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:12 PM) Which is silly in my opinion. Chandler never had any serious health problems before his back injury and at the start of the year chandler said his back feels stronger than it ever has. I know they want to be cautious with him but there is no reason that he cannot steal three to five more minutes combined from harrington ( who i like alot) and davis who i despise, he is so damn over payed). Davis should be relagated to foul trouble minutes with the way Harrington's been playing since Davis got hurt a while back. Davis just has lost his game. I'm not saying he's not a good leader and a role model cause he's definately that, but it will be nice when he's gone. He will be an expiring contract next year correct? Or is this his final year? Regardless the Bulls could definately have some value in a guy like that, especially in a sign and trade if somehow they really covet is available this offseason.
  15. QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:08 PM) Honestly, how horrible is this for the kings. Thomas and williamson have contracts through about 2030. Also, bradley was in the christie trade, it will need to be some other s***ty player. Ya, I was just looking and they aren't getting ending contracts in return. This is a pretty bad deal. This is kind of like when the Bulls got AD, and JYD two ugly contracts in my books (mainly JYD's which was god awful). The Kings better be able to package some of there contracts elsewhere.
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:06 PM) I think we have very similar teams I have Mornaeu at 1st and Navarro on the bench. Ricky Weeks, Jack Wilson, Hank Blaylock, Eric Byrnes, Rocco Baldelli, Willy Mo Pena, Victor Martinez. Carlos Zambrano, CC Sabathia, Jason Davis, Dennis Tankersly, Tony Armas Jr. Juan Cruz, JC Romero, Damaso Marte, Felix Rodriguez, Danys Baez and Brad Lidge. I got Morneau, Brian Roberts, Hernandez, McPherson, Milton Bradley, Lance Berkman, Vladdy Guerrero, Mark Prior, Roy Halladay, Zach Day, Edwin Jackson, CC Sabathia, Joey Nathan, Billy Wagner, Octavio Dotel, Jairo Garcia, Kyle Farnsworth, Blakely, Ryan Howard, Jayson Werth and a few others. Gotta deal some of the higher price players I have to get my team in budget. I want to mainly pick up some more young guys. I'm gonna try and get Rocco and Upton.
  17. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) They have some guy named Daunte. He's pretty good How good is he though? I mean his play really went downhill when Moss was hurt. Personally I think he's good, but the team is a lot better off when you have a guy like Moss who can score on any one play. He's the best receiver in the NFL and absolutely changes the way the defense plays and makes it easier for the other recievers to get open. The Vikes are going to have to deepen there WR core. Mrob is good, but they need a #1 ahead of him and Burleson isn't bad, but those guys are all a bit worse with Moss in Oakland. However, the Vikes did do a good job running the ball last year and that should help Daunte, especially since he should actually have a healthy backfield.
  18. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:03 PM) Ahhh, sounds good. For owner mode did you do a fantasy draft or just end up using default rosters? Fantasy Draft. Sadly Jose Hernandez is my starting shortstop, LOL.
  19. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 08:59 PM) How is playing the computer? I hated playing the computer last year because the computer NEVER swung at a pitch that wasn't a strike, no matter how close it was. Basically I had to lay the ball in there all the time because I couldn't be too fine and got hammered. Usually I try and nit pick the zone or will waste a pitch or two and then come back. Seems to work alright and sometimes they'll even call a pitch out of the so called zone a strike. They also seem to chase.
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) Pitch outs piss me off it's impossible to steal bases. Rocco got thrown out 4 times, Freel 3 times and Byrnes once. I gotta learn how to steal. I was running myself out of rallies every time. ALthough I wasn't getting many hits either. Like half my team is hitting under .200, lol. Dion Navarro is the only guy any decent cause for some reason the other team never throws any strikes to him.
  21. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) What did you put AJ at? I just upped his contact in both regards. He's not right around Spod overall. Don't remember what he's at. I'll post it tomorrow, but I think I moved him up around 78 or so.
  22. Good god no and this trade will never happen. The Bulls don't need another big man that can't rebound or play defense. Chandler isn't going anywhere and if he is, I demand Chris Mihm in return because he's scrappy, can board like nobodies business, and is a solid defender with nice offensive touch. I want Chandler in Chicago for a long time, but he's still not worth the max contract or anything near it, imo, so it will be a little difficult. We'll see what the new CBA looks like though and the Bulls can always match.
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) This is a great trade for the 76er's. What were the Kings thinking? I'm guessing Kings are better salary wise or something in the long run? However, I also think the big thing is the Kings get some toughness in Kenny Thomas and maybe create more shots for there other guys. I think Webber was sick of Sac and it may be a good thing for them to be rid of him, but its definately the Sixers gain.
  24. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) Starting Squad: PG: Allen Iverson SG: Aaron McKie SF: Andre Iguodala PF: Chris Webber C: Samuel Dalembert I'm intrigued. But then again, I've been intrigued all along by the 2004/2005 76ers. I've been waiting for some results. This should put them over the top as far as their division is concerned. Dalembert is a good interior defender, Iverson is as good as anyone when it comes to jumping the pass lane and picking up the steal and while McKie is older and slower, he's still a good defender while Iguodala is already good and will be one of the best in the league as he continues to develop. Webber is a great passer and scorer and isn't horrid defensively so I think Philly has really improved there chances. The East could be wide open if Shaq is seriously hurt. Bulls are playing solid, Cavs look real good and Silas teams do good down the stretch usually and then you have the Pacers who I think will awaken soon enough plus the Pistons (they'll be strong again).
