Thats a new smiley when I get the chance 2k3.
  2. Ya, I just learned that. They take a max of a 20% pay cut, which would be a lot in the case of both players (They'd still make a lot). So they are going to have to produce and then it would be worth it.
  3. Yes. NOt suere where he'll be playing, but they have said Alomar and Everett will be in the starting lineup. They may Dh him or they may play him in center.
  4. I think we were probably a week away from selling. IF the Sox didn't start winning by the end of this series against the Twins, I believe we would of seen a flash of moves.

Moving to off topic. Damn I've been busy today. What the hell is this, can't we all be excited about the Sox recent acquisitions

  7. Ya, you need to put in the choices plus the topic. *Moving to Help Board* where this can be referenced by others.

Lol, he made a post saying we acquired bonds, basically made a whole lot of jibberish posts. Still, he is more then welcome here.

He was a young kid who didn't know better. He's more then welcome here as long as he obeys the few rules we have.
  10. Its working for me. I justh it it to take me to this post. The only time you should get an error is if the post was deleted for some reason, but I didn't delete anything other then two posts yesterday by that poster trying to spam the board with stuff.

    Ya, he was banned.
  12. Don't we have 10 days still. Maybe we've given Rios his unconditional release now, but I hope we didn't do that with Jimenez. He's 25, is a switch hitter, can play 2nd, ss, or 3rd, and a .332 OBP after going into a slump. There is definately some trade value in this guy.
  13. I really like Everett in the 2 hole cause in front of Frank he will be incredibly dangerous.
  14. 87-88 consistently. Occasionally, getting to 90-91. I have not seen every pitch he has thrown, but I have seen a lot and have seen those readings consistently on several radar guns. On the one at the Hoover Met, he reads 84-86, but that is documented to be 3-4 mph slow, with occasionally a 5 mph variance. Ok thanks. I always figure when I read ba or something to subtract quite a few MPH. In regards to Honel, he was throwing Hard. Wing is the mid to high 80's, ala Ring and I'm assuming Cotts is the same.
  15. and what about yofu???? Over 25.
  16. This could be me reading into things, but he mentions Cotts as the top prospect and then says Hart coudln't get some guys. This either means Cotts is the best of the guys they could get or that Cotts was there, but that the Sox refused to give him up. I can only hope for the latter.
  17. They'd get more then two or I'd guess they would. They'd get two for Alomar by himself and then at least one for Everett, maybe two. Not exactly sure how the compensation works, but thats how I understand it.
  18. I'd send PK and Jimenez that way and YES Jimenez to the Dodgers makes a whole lotta sense.
  19. I'm assuming your talking about Ring. I'm guessing Ring is around 91-93, but not higher then that. Rex can you vouge for us on this?
  20. Of course, I'm not saying i'm against it. The big reason is, that even if this move doesn't pay off or if it does and the Sox win the series or make it deep they can always recoup. If they let Alomar and Everett walk at the end of the year, they will likely get TWO first round picks as compensation and thats better then anything we gave up, imo. While I love Ring, we could make it up with two quality high draft picks. Heck, if you think, next year the Sox could really have a boatload of draft picks. Either way I'm in a great move. Just had to say that I think Ring will be sucessful. I just saw John Sickels write something up on him saying he hits 96 on the gun. Sorry guys, but I don't buy into that. Too many times I see that crap, SEE: Jesse Foppert (Throws 99 yet I watch him pitch and he tops out at 90 MPH). Now come on Sox, lets SWEEP THE TWINS and keep on rolling
  21. I've been thinking and wondering, I saw where KW oringally flat out told him no in regards to Ring and no I really am going to miss him. Ring was going to be a stud reliever for the Sox for a long time. I'm going to be sad to see him leave this organization and I know he will be sucessful. Alomar was definately a huge boost, but damn Ring was good. Would of rather gave them Arnie Munoz.
  22. Does that mean they get one the caliber of Ring and then two others not as well. I'd like to see Majewski (This is a name I hadn't thought of), Diaz and then a position guy. I'd be able to live with that. Sox are going to be busy with promotions and stuff after the trades are finalized.
  23. More reasons to why I like Tori so damn much.
  24. In speculating of some of the position players that could be on that list, I'd guess one of them is Tim Hummel. Possibly someone like Ryan Hankins could also be on that list or even a Mike Spidale. I'd say that could be the best position guy on the list. Maybe they could go like Spidale and Diaz for him or take lesser. Who knows though. I'm just hoping I'll be happy after hearing the names.
  25. Rangers execs said it was 8 in their newspaper, or I thought thats what they said. They have the option of 2 or 3.
