A reliever is what would be perfect. A good one at that.

I don't know about anyone else, but if you watched Weaver pitch on Sunday you'd see why it would be an awesome pickup. He could go to the rotation or pen (If he goes to the rotation, Wright goes to the pen) and that would finish things off. I don't think it makes sense unless the Sox deal Jimenez and Konerko or something like that. Weaver is a stud, imo.

Murcie just told me that the score is saying Sox are now talking a deal with the Yanks to land Jeff Weaver. Supposedly major league players involved in this one. Who knows where its at.

Really? Why? First off he draws walks. I'm a huge believer in OBP, its one of the rare things I agree with Billy Beane on. He also has a smooth swing and is a switch hitter. Maybe he isn't the perfect defense guy, but that doesn't mean he has value. I also think the Sox could acquire a quality reliever for him if they wanted to move him and designating him for assignment really hurts his trade value.

Lowell is a heck of a player. Marlins are smart doing this. Caberra and him will be damn good. Does Lowell move to first and they move Lee?

My guess is this. They will get one good prospect, a mediocre one and a throw in. They are paying all of his salary, which means Sox give up a bit more. I think it will be very similar to what they gave up for Alomar. Almonte was fringe, Ring was for real, Salvo isn't a major league caliber player. I'd guess that it will be Diaz or something along those lines, Ginter or something along those lines and then a lesser guy, maybe Ryan Meaux (Great numbers, old for his level).

This is what the farm system if for. You hype your guys and you keep the ones your really like and move the ones that have a lot of value yet may not be as valuable to you. I do think Cotts is VERY valuable to this organization and I really hope he isn't going anywhere.

I like Everett in the 2 hole with Harris in the 9 slot.

Not worried at all. I've heard great things about him for a long time since he had his attitude problems. He plays his butt off and I will take him on the Sox any day of the week.
