New Update on Texas trade
Wylie has struggled with the Barons. Hasn't pitched in many games thus far (4 with Winston Salem; 6 with Birmingham). 11 walks in 20 innings, but has 17 K's. Considering he's coming off injury, I'd give him some time and see what develops.

New Update on Texas trade
Wylie came back from an injury a month or so ago. Haven't really paid attention to him, will have to take a look at his numbers.

Timing on the trades
Now was the perfect time. Sox are really gaining steam and what did KW do, he told them, you guys are definately on the rise and were going to help you. The SOX are playing for THIS year and this type of move has to elate the players. It shows management is serious about winning. This was the perfect time. Why wait until you fall into a slump, I say go for it early so they can help you for a long period of time.

New Update on Texas trade
I know what you mean. I don't want the best out of here. I like Miller and Lamura but your rightI could live, simply because they are so far away, plus sign those couple guys and bam, you quickly rebound from losing them. Plus, half the reason you have a farm system is to trade them to fill other areas.

Manual
Manuel seems to be changing things. I'm still a big Backman backer though and there are plenty of things i disagree with in Manuels style, namely the small ball.

New Update on Texas trade
Better not be a good conditional player and I can only hope the two prospects are B/C guys.

Jeff Weaver
Yes, it is Illini guy.

Jeff Weaver
Sox are going to stick with Flash, Marte and Koch in regards to closing. I'm assuming Koch will get the majority of the work. Weaver is a possibility, although unlikey. If they got them the Sox wouldn't be giving up much (I wouldn't think so). A more likely scenario is Konerko and Jimeenz for Sidney Ponson or simply Jimenez and maybe someone else for a reliever. I do believe that the Sox are shopping Konerko around to see whats out there.

Damn, Why RING
Ya, I just learned that. They take a max of a 20% pay cut, which would be a lot in the case of both players (They'd still make a lot). So they are going to have to produce and then it would be worth it.

Evrett
Yes. NOt suere where he'll be playing, but they have said Alomar and Everett will be in the starting lineup. They may Dh him or they may play him in center.

Would the trades have been made . . .
I think we were probably a week away from selling. IF the Sox didn't start winning by the end of this series against the Twins, I believe we would of seen a flash of moves.

rios update
Don't we have 10 days still. Maybe we've given Rios his unconditional release now, but I hope we didn't do that with Jimenez. He's 25, is a switch hitter, can play 2nd, ss, or 3rd, and a .332 OBP after going into a slump. There is definately some trade value in this guy.

Everett and Alomar are starting tomorrow
I really like Everett in the 2 hole cause in front of Frank he will be incredibly dangerous.

Damn, Why RING
87-88 consistently. Occasionally, getting to 90-91. I have not seen every pitch he has thrown, but I have seen a lot and have seen those readings consistently on several radar guns. On the one at the Hoover Met, he reads 84-86, but that is documented to be 3-4 mph slow, with occasionally a 5 mph variance. Ok thanks. I always figure when I read ba or something to subtract quite a few MPH. In regards to Honel, he was throwing Hard. Wing is the mid to high 80's, ala Ring and I'm assuming Cotts is the same.

and what about yofu???? Over 25.

Check out this quote
This could be me reading into things, but he mentions Cotts as the top prospect and then says Hart coudln't get some guys. This either means Cotts is the best of the guys they could get or that Cotts was there, but that the Sox refused to give him up. I can only hope for the latter.

Damn, Why RING
They'd get more then two or I'd guess they would. They'd get two for Alomar by himself and then at least one for Everett, maybe two. Not exactly sure how the compensation works, but thats how I understand it.
