How lazy can a guy be to work back from a broken neck, etc. This guy wasn't supposed to play baseball again and here he is. I know I say this a lot, but it has to mean something. No I am not defending his stupid mistakes. I think he needs a coach that puts a fire under him, etc. I also don't buy into this cancer crap cause I see him laughing with players all the time when they pan into the dugout shots.

I heard Nevin's coming back in August. Ya, theres some talk he'll be sooner. I was at that game where he injured himself and it was brutal. I really like Nevin though, he'd be a great pickup in my opinion. Not saying the Pads would do it, but if they want to get younger it would make sense. Plus he's more marketable for their new park. Still, it would be a tough sell.

Pk is definately the toughest guy on the Sox to move. I think the only way they can do it now is if they take on salary for him or take on an injured type guy (Maybe Nevin). If I'm the Sox I get the one dimensional guys out of the lineup with the exception of Frank. He's more then willing to stay around if he can stay around .285 or so. But in the 5 hole, not the 3 hole.

My baserunning and smarts were probably my best asset. I never had the "5 Tool Talent" so to speak but I was always one of the best cause I never did something stupid. If a pitcher wasn't paying attention, I'd take an extra base. Outfielder held onto the ball to long, you run when you wouldn't. Almost never would I get thrown out. I mean during a game (Less during major league baseball) you get opportunties when you catch a player sleeping and for me I'd always take advantage of them. Was also a good defensive player and a good pitcher. Hitting was never my strong point. I never learned how in the hell you hit opposite field. Going opposite field for me was hitting it over 2nd base. Also was a good bunter. Damn I wish I could still play all the time instead of just playing every once in a while.

Isn't he supposed to be moved eventually cause he's going to get some money. We could pay him similar to Carlos Lee and get such a better all around player. Luckily I think Jeremy Reed will be a similar type of player. I'm really high on that kid.

Hell, it wouldn't be all that bad if the Sox moved Koch for Weaver, moved Lee for Ponson (maybe we throw in a lesser prospect like Jorge Nunez) and then were able to land Nixon and Sanchez. Then move Jose to the Cubs for a reliever. Move Flash to the closers slot, slide Wright into the setup gig with Marte, etc. Rotation is dominant, defense is good and the sox could win. In this deal I don't ask for Fossum and hold onto Flash. The team would be more prone to win. I would love to get Jones, but I don't see it as possible. Sox do that, and I wouldn't be against dealing Jon Rauch and a prospect or Jimenez for a new 2nd baseman and the Sox would have a hell of a team. Although I think under a different style coach, Jimenez will be really good.

The only player on the Twins I dislike is Jacque Jones but having fun out there isn't a crime. Man, I'd love to get Jacque Jones in left for the Sox. Geeze would he be a huge upgrade over Carlos. Just like Trot Nixon would be. LF hell, Jones is a good CF, who just happens to be playing next to one of the best defensive CF's in the game. I know, I'd love having him on the Sox. I've always talked about picking him up. He doesn't draw a lot of attention, but he's a really solid player. He's one of those guys I annoit, Erstad like in a sense.

Good Stuff as always. Thanks

Thats so huge. So many pitchers get runs early and then give blow the early cushion. Worse thing would be a stinking leadoff walk.
-
To knock off 10 mph those mechanics would have to be really screwed up. Basically it would be him not using his legs or something along those lines and soley pitching with his arm. And if he's doing that its not long before his arm goes. I think the Sox could deal him and I'd do it while they can.
-
I'm a huge Flash fan so I wouldn't have a problem with it. Hell, right now I think bullpen by committee is how I'd do it.
-
You could say the same about Konerko.
-
Well, I don't know why Garland got blasted. Yes he gave up the lead, but those were some weak hits. He made good pitches the ball squeaked through cause it was on turf. Nothing you can do on that, imo. Also, I think quite a few blamed others. I know I blamed everyone. This is a team game and they failed quite a few times. Crede's error, leaving them on in the ninth, etc. If one of the few players mentioned stepped up they probably would of win, but when so many fail every game it leaves the Sox so hopeless. The problem is most games a few players fail. I don't mean fail at having a couple hit night, but I mean fail at making contact in key situations, stupid base running mistakes, errors, etc.

I like Willie. I would of had Willie in center, Rowand in left and Daubach Dh'ing with Thomas at first.
-
No way am I reading that description. Anyone that did would be lucky to look like this
-
I think that the Sox should play Rowand a few days in left field or play Daubach there. Lee is really struggling the past few games and his swing is getting very long again. Lee and Konerko should be two guys that are gone sometime before the start of next season (preferably now).

Also, while Koch shouldn't of been out there, once it gets to that situation, things need to be taken care of. I think anyone here has the right to go off on Koch because he hasn't produced and to top that Keith Foulke has. I don't think many of us doubted that Foulke would come through. Personally, I didn't think Manuel would ever use Foulke as a closer so I was in favor of the trade. I also realized the Sox would lose folk and we had Koch longer. In hindsight I don't know what I'd do. I am very happy we have Cotts though. I do like my ideas for trying to move Koch for Weaver. Urbina is definately better then Koch (Uriban was supposedly going for Weaver) but if we can play the BoSox card then George will definately get involved, plus Weaver makes money so the Sox would need him. Then I'd do the same with Colon and swing a deal for Ponson and Castillo. For Colon I'd try and get Nixon, Sanchez and then Fossum (The first two are musts, imo).

What sickens me about every game the Sox play in is that there are so many mistakes and failures. I've been hoping Maneul would get on his guys and tell them how failing to do the basics will get them in the doughouse and have them on the bench, but its still not working. I think some of this must stem from the fact that Manuel is so lax in the clubhouse and was for a long time (Pure Assumption by Me). These mistakes are one of the biggest reasons I think this team needs a shakeup (Trade Wise, as my mind has been busy the fast few days coming up with ways to rebuild this team quickly) as well as a managerial shakeup. I really want Backman up here. He seems like my kind of manager and he always has gotten the best out of his minor league teams. I really think he's an up and coming manager.

Sad, but so true!!! It seems as if EVERYTHING KW touches turns into stone. I guess the kharma surrounding KW is all bad!!! I'm beginning to see what HSC has been talking about all this time. :fyou KW!!! HSC doesn't know anything. Do not give into her frequent posts like it means she is knowledgeable. She isn't anymore than you. She is the most opinionated person I have seen on a message board. Check her stats out on here. She posts 50 times more than anyone else. It's amazing. Marte gives up two runs, both inherited runners, that by the way, don't count on his era, and you're pissed at Koch. Another who doesn't understand the game. That 's okay we will pray for you. You can say if Crede didn't make that error they win. Or if Carlos Lee could make any freaking contact (Minus a DP) they would of got a run in the ninth. I'd rip Jose too, but he did have a homer, evne though he looked awful in the at bats I saw (The latter ones).
-
Sox should deal Koch for Jeff Weaver The Giants could be interested in Koch too as could the Red Sox. If I'm KW, I just make it look like the BoSox are interested and you'll get the Yanks involved. I'd do the same in regards to Colon and try to bid the price up and then bam, land Sanchez, Nixon, and Fossum or another prospect.

Ya, my grandparents were right by it and I'm going to be out there on Friday (till Tuesday I think).

Congrats and I'm assuming UNI is Northern Illinois Make sure you have a great summer and kick it with all your buddies as much as you can, cause a lot of people don't end up seeing their buds from highschool once they go away to college.
