WTF am I talking about????? MB started pitching for the Sox in June or July of 2001. Not including this season, he won 15 games in 2001 and 19 in 2002..... hence, 34 GAMES OVER A SEASON AND A HALF. Heh, wasn't Buehrle in our starting 5 rotation from the very beginning of '01? I coulda sworn he was. He won the job out of ST. Am I wrong? He started 34 games last year, and 32 in '01 -- so I don't think your June/July claim is accurate. He came in after Wells went on the DL..... or maybe Eldred. But I am positive he was a call-up. He wasn't a callup. He was in the bullpen and joined the rotation either right during the first week or in the second or third week.

Mainly because Graff has proven when he's an everyday player his numbers take a big time dive. He isn't a starter, he's a hell of a utility player. In regards to Crede, if your blaming your prospect that doesn't even have a full year under his belt, then the team has a lot more concerns then just him. Crede is in a bit over his head right now, but he isn't the problem. He wouldn't even be noticed right now if the other guys were playing up. Lets not forget that it was Crede who helped carry the team early in the season.

I'd do it If its that straight up, I'd do it in a heart beat, as long as we aren't losing Drew immediately. The big worry is Drew's health, but he's a stud of a player and right now I think were all questioning Garland. Not saying that doesn't mean he'll pan out, but it sounds to me like a trade that would do both players good and lets be honest, Drew would be an awesome fit in this lineup both offensively and defensively. The one question is then what with the pitching, do we go with Rauch (I won't complain) or do the Sox turn to someone like Finley?
-
There is one problem with that theory. Sandy Alomar was Buehrles favorite catcher and Alomar has caught every game except one. He always raved about how great of a catcher Alomar was and how excited he was to have him back, etc.

Hey Alex, edit that signature, you have too many 5's and its stretching the page. I know your Mac won't show up like that, but it effects all the other users

The "We're gonna take down Minnesota" game thread
Chisoxfn replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
umm white has been in there for a few innings now jas........lol and no i wasnt swearing at the tv i just shut it off......... I just saw him face about 3 batters then turned the filth off and I won't watch it for the rest of the night. I think I dropped every obsinity during the game and having my dad laughing at the craptacular defense made me even more pissed. -
Good defense would of picked him up but the fact is Buerhle made some bad pitches. He didn't get clobbered, but he's really missing his spots right now. He's been alright lately, but nothing special. Now it should of been 6-4 if the defense did anything worth a damn, but that didn't happen. Buehrle, use this as a motivating factor and I hope he can get himself in a groove. What I have noticed is Buehrle typically has a game or two like this during the season. That being said, if Buehrle got typical run support this season, no one would be complaining other then for this start.

How many of you have been swearing at the TV the past half hour? This is sickening. Buehrle is leaving everything up and his control isn't too hot. I don't know whats going on, but I hope he can get things figure out. Also, is it possible to cut a player during a game, if so I'd like to get Almonte up here. -
In regards to the favorite sox moment/comment section. I accidentally whiped them all up when updating the code. I'm really ticked about it so after that time I've changed to a new way of upgrading code and that is first performing that code update on another server (test server) with the same database and then do it there, before making the changes here. Unfortunately I don't havea clue how to bring back those areas. I do plan on reinputting them into the area though. Once again my bad also check your private messages cause I sent you one two nights ago.
-
Ohh, it was deleting them. I think you have the ability to do that now, I think I left it unchecked accidentally - But now its checked.

Never new the Sox drafted Kyle Boller (3rd base). He plays for my school. He wasn't starting at the beginning of the season, but it could of been for an injury.

Jason, I wanted to jump on that statemet and say not true and thgen I looked at the actually numbers: pathetic numbers Since I have acoc***ed for 21 tickets already this season, where is everyone else? To be honest, if people really wonder why the Sox don't have a higher payroll, look right at this and thats why. I know we all would like JR to lose a whole lot of money in order to win the series, but the fact is there is no guarantee it would do so, therefor its not worth it to him, because he's not a mega billionaire that can afford to lose 10 to 15 mill a year on a baseball team. Detroit, Florida, Montreal and Tampa are all worse. They got no payrolls, Sox have a pretty high one considering. You want some proof of what will fix this club (Winning the Series) then look at whose #1 and #2 right now (Giants and Anaheim). I could expect the Giants there, but Anaheim hasn't drawn every since I've been going there. I was there with crowds of 12,000 back in the day and a good crowd was 17 or so, now they are at 37 - ALL FROM ONE SEASON.
-
It was the end of the season and they were making up a game that was supposed to be played at the other parks home, but it was too tough to schedule it in.

He does throw in the high 90's. According to Bullard he's got great stuff.

What happened to the rumor that KW was resigning
Chisoxfn replied to Iguana's topic in Pale Hose Talk
My guess would be that it is not happening. This is all me speculating, but I'm assuming he is no longer meddling with Jerry Manuel in terms of who to manage and is the GM not only for this season, but the future. Right now I think if Williams is gone it will be because of family issues. I wouldn't be sad to see him go necessarily, but right now I think he's a good gm and I think he could be a great one. But I'm the minority, lol. -
It shouldn't be too bad a of a drive witesoxfan. I made the drive up from my grandparents who live half an hour outside of Sioux Falls South Dakota in Iowa. I don't know if its farther or shorter for you, but it shouldn't be horrible. The Twinkie dome is pretty bad though. Luckily when I went there a doubleheader was being played which was cool. Its the only doubleheader I've ever seen.
-
The sad thing is, they still draw more then the Sox. Still, their are a lot of Sox fans. The keys to drawing a good crowd are getting the casual fans in, not the diehards.
-
That such a freaking cool article. What a cool guy Rod Beck is.

Not sure what happened, let me look at the settings. Everything should work, but i could of made a mistake. Trying loggin out and then log back in. I looked and the settings appeared to be all right. I don't have a clue why it wouldn't let you make a post, thats really funny. Also just to make sure, you know to first make a post and then at the bottom of the post you hit the pin button correct?

Edison is nice, but I love the Q. I'm gonna be there around June 1st. Not sure who they are playing, I just know my friends getting me a free ticket and when its free it don't matter when they are playing.
-
Chisoxfn I don't think it gets any simpler.

Pacheco is a stud. He's shooting up the list on our prospect charts.
-
You want to know why I love THIS COLON, because he only made 88 pitches up to that point. That shows me how much of a stud our pitching coach is, and also how willing Bartolo is to improve himself on what has already been a great career for him. Bartolo is learning how to pitch and this is what is going to make him a 1A type pitcher instead of the 1B type pitcher. I will be so pissed if we don't resign Bartolo. This kid is going to be the top of the charts after Pedro blows his arm. Well him Zito, etc in the AL and then Prior and some others in the NL.
