  1. How the hell is he out of options at 20? I'm just curious. Was it because he was undrafted or something along those lines? If he is out of options, he'd be a hell of a pickup.
  2. Once again, thank you ugly. I'm sure you listened to Randy Jones and some of the others on Xtra 690 talk about Jimenez and others and I never heard anything bad about them other then from Klesko and Nevin and like you said, I heard a lot of that wasn't true. The big reason those two spoke up, is because Jimenez said some bad comments about the organization.
  3. Umm, Mark has been just fine. His numbers aren't too far off from what he did last year and the year before. The offense hasn't given him a damn worth of support. How is it that everyone still loves Jose and Frank even though those two aren't producing (At least Frank reaches base). Heck even Maggs isn't doing crap, yet its Buehrle and Jimenez I keep hearing about. Those two are producing imo. Buehrle has been far from perfect though, I admit that, but he isn't a problem.
  4. I agree that those two mistakes last night were costly. So far I give him two lazy plays (Throw at first and rounding the base last night). THe pop up was not a lazy play and him getting picked off at first was a mix of Jose missing the bunt. Every freaking player makes a mistake. Dangelo is the best we got, he's also one of my favorites. I love watching him play. I could give a damn if he's a dick as long as he's playing. Maybe its a little harsh, but I could care less about Bonds too. People yap about how much of a dick he is too, but does it matter, not really. Fact is he produces. Also, neither of them are beating their wife, getting DUI's etc. Mix that with the fact that he must have a great work ethic (Like i've repeated lately, you cant' come back from his injury without a ton of work and heart). Garret Anderson was always thought of as lazy too, turns out some guys really just look lazy because they can make things look easy. In regards to Jimenez baserunning he really is one of the Sox better baserunners. He's very agressive which sometimes gets him a bit burned, but overall he knows what he's doing. Im not going to make excuses for what happened yesterday, but EVERY player gets picked up or f's up every once in a while. Jimenez has all the freaking tools and is using him.
  5. Ya, I heard the same thing and I do think Lugo is a pretty solid shortstop with quite a bit of potential. It was a funny circumstance the whole way around and I know a lot of people don't believe he did it. Remember, we had Wil Cordero around for a bit. NOTE: I don't endorse anyone that beats his wife because its one of the stupidest things you could possibly do.
  6. Later Roman, hope your comp starts working soon.
  7. Well, I am not a Jose fan. You can yap about his offense and he has good power numbers for a shortstop, but after his hot streak his avg is down to .250. I'd let Jimenez play short and stick Castillo at 2nd. Then I'd look for the Sox to move Jose to DH part of the time, but the Sox would have to move Lee, Thomas or Konerko for this to happen as well. Speaking of Rauch, I think we'll see him up on the big club very soon. If Garland has another bad start, I think it will be Rauch time with either Garland going to AAA. Or Garland going to the pen and White getting shipped out.

Your damn right I'm loving Loaiza Joey
  9. I wouldn't bet on it either, but Borchard may be one of those guys that sits for a while before he finally gets it. Right now I think by July he should be thrown up here anyway and start making his adjustments here. Reed and Yan are two guys I really like in the future group. The Sox current prospects seem to be much much faster and much more sound players (Defensiely, base running, etc) which is something I am happy about. I really think Reed and Yan will be part of a very fast top of the order (Although one may be in the 9 hole eventually) because Jimenez is gonna be at the top of the order a long time, imo.
  10. Good to see Bham came back and won. Looks like walks came back to finally bite Cotts in the butt. Right now I got to say Cotts looks like a similar pitcher (Stat Wise) to Kaz Ishii in LA. Gives up a lot of walks, but seems unhittable to the point that if you give up runs, its almost always their own fault. I hope Cotts can improve his control, but he may be one of those guys that just has so much movement its tough, ala Clement and Ishii; although Clement has improved it.
  11. That is really weird. I wonder if he'll be able to make it. Right now if I was another gm i'd be on the phone trying to swing a deal for Hamilton hoping you could get him for lesser value, then convince him to get things back together mentally, cause he's an absolute stud of a prospect. How about Malone for Hamilton and we'll throw in some change
  12. Your damn right I did. I have a habit of thinking some players make a game funner to watch. Jimenez is one of those guys for me. I love watching his swing and how easy he makes things look at the plate. I know laugh all you want now. I really opened myself up for those that think Miles should be the starting 2nd baseman.
  13. Sounds good. I'll private message ya with the time for our minor league meeting on Wednesday where we finalize things for the prospect list
  14. I like Milton Bradley quite a bit over in Cleveland. Beltran would be sweet too. In regards to Carlos, he could play first easily. He'd have better range then PK and his arm would be fine for the position. There would be somewhat of a learning curve, but first base is much easier then left field.
  15. Umm, he's still the best offensive player on the team.
  16. Wasn't JM ejected before Koch came in. I know they say the manager still makes the calls even if he isn't in the dugout, but if I saw it right he was ejected on the play at 2nd where Thomas was safe, but was called out.
  17. I agree with you 100% idseer. KW may have put this crap together but it is up to JM to teach the fundamentals and mental aspect of the game. Obviously, he can't get through to any of the Sox starters..... and for some time now. I'm with you two. Now if those two get canned and the Sox go on a hot streak, then JM will save his job and I won't really care, but I would like Backman up here. Part of me still believes Manuel could be good, if in fact he hasn't been doing things on his own. Still, too many times he doesn't go with small ball and to me I'd much rather have that kind of guy. I know people say he's a small ball guy, but not enough for me. I love the small ball.
  18. I only saw what they showed on Baseball tonight, but a few days ago the velocity on his fastball was back up to around 96. He looked pretty good in the pitches they showed me on Baseball tonight. I still am very confident in Koch as am I in the rest of this team.
  19. Here's the link to the chatroom. http://whitesox.theinsiders.com/3/chat.html
  20. I guess the only plus is this takes the distractions away from the team and puts them in KW's lap, which he may hope helps them get out of their rut. Also, that was cool how many people were on.
  21. UCLA got their guy in Ben Howland (From Pitt) and they hired away Cal State Fullerton's head coach to join UCLA's staff. Jabaar has been blackballed from coaching pretty much because of his rep as a pot smoker back in the days. I just figure with the 4th ranked baseball team in the country its about damn time Fullerton had a basketball program (Bruce Bowen of the Spurs is from Fullerton). Still, I am just looking forward till when I transfer to Stanford (Or at least hope to) and then I can be at a school that is good at all sports as well as helping me get an education.
  22. I guess thats alright. Crede looked lost yesterday, but he has been doing far from bad lately. Him and PK have had the right approach (Minus Crede swinging still at some balls) but so far neither have really CLICKED. I sure hope it happens soon. Those two on fire could really unsink this ship.
  23. I'm assuming either he's going to stay on board or that he will is now setting it up so he can step down for family reasons. He gets reassigned, but keeps his the potential of becoming a GM with another team at a later date an open possibility. If he is fired and all the reports came out about him managing the team, etc, he'd be screwed. Still, right now I think Gary Ward and JM are the more immediate problem. Ward is who really kills me. I think the team could use a better motivator then Manuel, but if Ward is teaching stupid stuff, then don't have him there, or bring up a 2nd hitting coach to work with the players if you can't get rid of Gary.
  24. Exactly Cali, which is why wait. Shaffer isn't a prospect. We have been nice to him long enough. Now is the time to move him to the bench and start playing Reyes and Yan the majority of the time. Those are the guys with major league potential and those are who should be playing. Plus, it would make it so much funner to watch Barons games and I know Rex is up for that
  25. Why don't we combine this and make this the game thread/Elo K tracker? Sound good
