I still think the Nets are looking awful good over their in the East.

I swear Jerry must read this board at times. Like two days ago I was mentioning that I felt Alomar should catch some of the other pitchers on ocassion and let Olivo get a game or two with the aces and then he ends up doing it.
-
The other thing I thought of (Not sure if its possible) but was for a post that is on minors to move it to the minor league board after it leaves the first board or something so then we could continue talking about it there without it dissapearing. I see benefits to both ways, but the key is what makes everyone happiest.

I noticed that and was like what the heck. Wood is a big strong kid, but no pitcher should be throwing 141 pitches, imo.

Stealing a Car radio is a big difference then teapeaing someones house or whatever mischievious things most kids do when they are younger. That being said they didn't murder anything and they can still be straightened out and I hope they are.

He deserved to be in if it he played a full career. Since he didn't they looked at other things, such as the fact that he was a goodwill ambassador to baseball and that in my opinion is why he eventually got in. I heard an interview with Pucketts wife and she said that he was a fraud the whole time. It surprised the heck out of me, and this wasn't a women that had a grudge against him.

I also say I want him as long as its the pitching coach, Cooper, making the majority calls when it comes to pitchers.

and Brian Jordan is worth the 9 mill he makes. Todd Hundley the 6 mill he makes, etc. Dodgers have plenty of over-achievers. If the Sox could invest 50 mill in the rotation like the Dodgers (I think they have over 50 mill invested there) then we'd have a stinking awesome rotation too. I also stick to my theory, this is a very very good TEAM (The White Sox) and I do believe the Sox and Dodgers will meet in the series. -
Daubach should be playing everyday right now or at least against Righties. I'd use the lineup the Sox have been doing lately but with Daubach flip flopped with Rios.

Heard Kevin Kennedy and another baseball guy talking about Torborg and they say thats just what they are using as a scapegoat. They all believe Torborg is one of the better managers in all of baseball and think that its a bunch of crap that he doesn't understand pitching. They mentioned that Torborg preached lower body workouts and some of the pitchers didn't necessarily agree with him and it was more that which led to arm injuries. Plus, Torborg won't be making that call, Brian Cooper would. Torborg would be an awesome pickup. Right when I heard it this morning I thought, BRING HIM BACK. This is exactly the type of mentality this team needs and Torborg KNOWS the game of baseball. As a former catcher he understands pitching and knows quite a bit about mechanics, etc. Also to blame him for the injuries of Beckett wouldn't be right (Becketts injuries have mainly been because of blisters, other things) while Burnett wasn't only being worked by Torborg.

I like Bocachica.

Wasn't Marte in because a lefty was up? I think Koch is the closer, they are just working him back in first.
-
If we could do a recall in the hall of fame, Kirby wouldn't be in there. He was in there because he was a "good guy" turned out he was more of a dick then anyone ever would of imagined.
-
All I'm going to say is this really stinks for Kenny. He does seem like an honest good guy and I think this probably gets to him quite a bit. I hope he can get his kids straightened out and I don't want him to push the blame on someone else, too many parents do that. Put the blame squarely on the shoulders where it belongs, and thats your kids.

Will fix it right now. So from now on it will work. I accidentally turned html coding off. Sorry.

For those of you that think KW didn't have the credentials for the job I strongly believe your wrong. Williams is one of the smarter guys in all of baseball. That doesn't neccessarily mean he's going to make a great GM, but he's the one who is given credit for building the Sox farm system, which is what led to the 2000 season. The move looked fine at the time, I guess it didn't turn out right, but thats life. I will repeat myself I'll take Williams over Evans any day of the week. Evans has a 90 mill payroll or so. If Williams had that, I guarantee the Sox would be defending world champs. Their is a HUGE HUGE difference in payroll and Evans has singlehandedly traded away all the quality prospects that organization had. You know the guy for the Indians that has been pitching real good (Rich Rodriguez) well he was just one of the two top prosopects they gave up to get Paul Shuey. Paul Shuey is alright, but he is not worth two top prospects, especially since Rodriguez is going to be really good. How about the Dodgers re-acquiring Hundley, they would be a much better team with Grudz and Karros still there. My dad is a diehard Dodger fan and he can't stand Evans and most Dodger fans don't like him either. They'd be laughing if we picked Evans back up as a GM. He's basically made one good move and that was getting Odalis Perez and I still think he didn't get near enough for Gary Sheffield. The other good move he made was failing to pull the trigger with Ken Williams for Bobby Howry/Eric Gagne. Williams wanted more (Supposedly) and he decided that wasn't enough. If he made that deal, he would of been the ultimate sucker. -
Happy Birthday Ian. Hope your having a blast

Not sure I can try working things out. I think the quote works. Test Test

I think it all starts with the type of players we draft to how they bring them up. In the past we rushed prospects but now the Sox don't appear willing to do that, which is huge. I also tend to think Nardi set some of our pitchers back, but it also happens that some pitchers can make it others can't. Sox have done a good job drafting talent (Thats KW's job) but they haven't necessarily developed it best (Coaches Job - Mixed with KW moving them through the systems or whoever decides that).

Guys, Roberts is just fine, but he's not the answer. Jimenez is a perfectly fine leadoff hitter and I'd much rather have the Sox acquire more of a shorterm and longterm solution like Mark Kotsay. I think the Sox are going to have to "retool" this team. They need to go and hav a look at that 2000 club and decide who stays and replace a lot of guys with fundementally sound players. Bring in some speed, defense, etc. We have plenty of guys that have trade value. I think of the offense, Jimenez, Crede, Maggs, Konerko and Olivo should stay. Then add some replacements around them with Borchard being one of them. Build this team with pitching and lots of it. Also for those interested in trading Koch, I'd like to move him to the Giants for some of their young arms. They are a team I'd be willing to deal with cause they have something to offer. I think the Sox would be willing to take someone that makes some money on the Giants as well as Foppert or someone along those lines.

Want to quickly give an update on the minor league section of the main site. The Minor League staff is going to be changing the way we cover the individual teams. In the past we were doing the minor league recaps, but from now on were going to right a weekly article on each team (Kind of a Week in review thing) which will talk about whose hot, whose not, how they did, etc. Kind of highlighting the week so people can keep up with the minors much easier. Also we've been thinking of opening up a minor league board (Attached to this board just like the off topic board) but wanted to see what you all though. Should we go with an individual minor league board or keep things like they are? Hope you all enjoy it. Were also redoing our Top 50 list and should have it out very soon and this time we mean it

What can I say, sometimes I screw up

Insects will survive anything. They can survive radiation and they can mass produce. Isn't the mosquito the most deadly animal type thing?

Here's my view. I'm going to keep it short and sweet cause this game really had me angry. Danny Wright looked alright. His velocity and stuff was there but he was really looking funny on the mound falling off to the left far too much. The good news is he looked very healthy and when his pitches were down they couldn't hit him. Tons of grounders, etc. IF you can't throw strikes though it doesn't matter. Offense - Terrible, what else can i say. Once again the Sox had quite a few hits but there were a few great opportunities to run/bunt/hit and run yet it didn't happen and the Sox had a few more double plays. Manuel has to take the initiative and do what he can to get them out of them. Konerko did look solid though, going opposite field some more. He's very close to breaking out. Crede has also been improving going up the middle and to opposite field. Daubach looked very good as well at the plate.

Plus, you got to realize some of the older generations aren't really comfortable trusting atm's etc. Heck, when it comes to depositing stuff there is nothing I trust more then going into the bank in person, where I get my receipt etc. Also, the thing that sucks about ATMS is the damn fees they charge. I only use my banks or Washington Mutuals atm (They have no service charge). Then again I found out my bank will credit my account for the charges that occur (Up to 6 times) but I bank with a small bank. They know my name and it makes it easy on me.
