JOE COWLEY RIPS kw TO SHREDS!!!..PLAYERS TOO
Chisoxfn replied to baggio202's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Welcome aboard. I tend to agree with some of the others here, the Sox should hire the best man for the job. I don't care what a persons color is as long as they do the job right. I actually think Chicago is probably the best example of a city where minority people have got an opportunity in sports. You have Cartwright with the Bulls, Baker with the Cubs, Manuel and Williams with the Sox and Greg Blache with the Chicago Bears. I also tend to agree with Baggs that KW could of partially gotten the job because JR is so big on giving minorities an opportunity, but I also think KW had a great track record. I think KW could still make a great gm, but I also think they hired him a little early. He was still incredibly young and since he played sports for a while it kept him out of the front office area where he could learn more. You really have to have a great understanding, but you also have to be willing to learn on the spot and realize your not always right if you want to be a GM. KW isn't as bad as advertised, but there are plenty that are better out there. I don't think Dan Evans is one of them though. I think Bob Fontaine Jr could make a great gm, but I also like him in charge of scouting (Same place I like KW). Does anyone know of any potential candidates from other organizations, asst gm's etc. I don't really want Schueler back. I'd of loved getting Jim Hendry but that isn't happening since he's got the Cubs gig. Dodgers have a minority candidate (An Asian Women) that is supposedly very highly regarded. I think she is Dan Evans assistant and for some reason I think she started off in the White Sox organization and then came to the Dodgers, but someone could check me on that. -
Oh I am. But like I say if he's calling the shots and doing those type of things in regards to the manager then I don't want him around.. Plus he's only going to be getting a demotion, we'll still have his scouting expertise in the organization and as long as he's doing things with the minor league system I'm happy.

What channel is this vegetales on?
-
Thats what I am holding out for.
-
I really liked the lineup too, only swap Daubach with Rios in the lineup.
-
I just hope we can all get along when Manuel, Ward and Williams get canned. To me most importantly is anyone that is calling the games. I know Manuel calls some of them, KW supposedly has called some of them and we all know how much I can't stand Ward's approach at the plate.

Ya, very rarely did he have a proper delivery. He was very inconsistent which is why he threw so many balls. Stuff wise he was there though.
-
Why the heck wasn't he walking him. We were all discussing this in the chatroom saying to just walk him and go get Durazo or at least don't simply throw fastballs. For Pete sake Jon has thrown nothing but fastballs and sinkers the whole game. WIth the stuff he had today he should be shutting them down, but when you only throw one speed against a solid team your gonna suck. JON, WAKE UP, Trust your stuff and mix the stuff up.

Darn it, that pitch got too much in the middle but it was still low.

Tell them the Sox game is on or bribe them with some Sox tickets

I love old school socks. Run scores on a jam shot that falls in front of Carlos with 2 outs. 2-1 Sox now.
-
Well he sure didn't do anything with Charlotte that next year.
-
Then PK ripped a double, but Crede flew out. Garland gives up a leadoff double in the bottom part of the 3rd.

Rooting for a team soley based upon where you live is gay. :fyou Homers Damn straight, been in Cali all my life and I'll never root for the damn Lakers.
-
Damn right Baggs. Whenever I see games in Anaheim their are tons of Sox fans. I'm interested in seeing how many are at Dodger stadium this year.
-
I'll stop in their.
-
Spurs are looking really impressive, so is Sacromento and the Nets.

If their is an issue getting beer in highschool then their is something weird about that school. Beer flowed at every party at my school. College is so tame compared to the s*** that went on in highschool, at least where I went. Didn't go to a private school or anything, just a public school where most people were middle class or upper middle class.

Lol, all I can say is you missed an awesome game to watch. I love it when they are on the west coast (Minus all the losing that occurs) because the games are nice and late so I can relax and watch them. Earlier games I can only see parts of because I'm heading home from work at the time.

Yep Fontaine is that guy and Fontaine is the guy I like.

Cluj from what I've noticed Konerko has been pretty consistent the last week to week and a half and has really been getting good swings. He is using the right approach. He had a tough game last night, but when runners were on he was doing all he could to move them over and NOT BE SELFISH and thats what I like to hear.
-
Thats weird Cluj, mine worked fine, but the game wasn't on ESPN 2 in orange county, could of been on in LA county?

Well if were willing to give up Garland then I'd like a premier type guy, cause Garland is the type of guy that has a ton of value on the trading block. Carlos Beltran would be a superior pickup. Maybe we can work a 4 way type deal out. Lee and Garland leave the Sox Cruz leaves the Cubs Randa leaves the Royals Hillebrand leaves the BoSox. BoSox get Randa and Cruz. Royals get Lee and Garland, Cubs get Hilly, Sox get Beltran. Of course if this is the case, then Lee and Garland could be just traded straight up to KC and I don't see that happening.
