  1. Lets not forget the play Jose made earlier in the game on a relay. That was one of the worse throws I've seen in a long time (And knowing we have Jose that says something). He had to 15 hop that throw home from shortstop. With the "Gun" he has, there is no reason Stewart shouldn't of been thrown out. Thank goodness the Sox won. Its also great to see PK get it going. I want to keep seeing consistency and improvement from the entire team. NICE JOB SOX

Koch has really been improving each time I see him. I'm very confident in Billy. He's got an awesome attitude and good tools. I hope he keeps getting better.
  3. One Drastic different Buehrle dominated the majors for two seasons, winning 19 games in his second full season. Ritchie never did that.
  4. I agree with you from the sense that he is a much better option than Harris or Rios if neither of them are going to step up. I also am very leary of Borchard right now meaning that Lofton would be a perfect pickup. No one has earned the job and Lofton is the perfect type of stopgap and would be able to leadoff pushing Jimenez to the 2 hole and Jose down in the order. Plus, the Sox could get away with it giving up someone like White or Ginter or a PTBNL. I really don't think the Pirates would ask for too much. I still get a feeling that the Pads may eventually look to move Mark Kotsay.

I agree with you on that. I assume that the minor league free agents that are signed are pretty much up to the general manager. In regards to Yofu he was signed becasue Carlos Castill (I think thats who it was) told him to talk to one of our scouts.
  6. Well I'm assuming Pitt is using him as a scapegoat. I think that the Pirates have overachieved compared to the talent on the team.
  7. He is on the hotseat in Pittsburhg. I think he's a pretty good manager and if the Sox go another way then Backman he would be a solid pickup, imo.
  8. I'd say so. I do think picking up Kim would be real nice. He could turn into a really good starter and if not, then it gives the Sox a lethal punch in the bullpen and opens up the possibility of a Flash Gordon deal and there is plenty of value out there for Gordon. The big reason I would like to move Konerko is because i don't think of him as an 8 mill a year player.
  9. To me he instigated it, but even he shouldn't of gotten anything. I think MLB has gotten way too knit picky with the whole suspension issue. Unless its a guy trying to start a fight, forget about it. Or if its something that is causing injury. In the case of this, Colon simply retaliated and nothing really happened out of it. Colon hit one guy and nowhere near the head. I think that was the Sox only hits batsmen of the series. Now it was intentional, but its part of the game. MLB shouldn't be stopping that, they should be figuring out how to increase attendance, and make baseball more competitive, etc.
  10. If I recall Nossek isn't thought of as that great of a manager. In all honesty it wouldn't shock me if our third base coach took over.
  11. Lets just put it this way, I'm pretty sure Grace is their starting first baseman. It would be a sweet move it the Sox could get Kim for Konerko. Would the Dbacks do it? They have enough pitching once the unit gets back, but Kim is probably the best arm that isn't super old around there (I know they also have John Patterson). I'd think the Sox would have to take some salary along with him, maybe Tony Womack. Womack and Kim for Konerko and some change is a deal I would do. Sox cover Womack and Kim's contract Dbacks get Konerkos and get a much needed bat.

They were all Ken Williams acquisitions or the fact that they are all pitchers? I love pointing out the obvious, lol.
  13. So he starts Tuesday instead of Monday. Big whoop. We have a day off tomorrow to compensate for it anyways. Good point. I got a sneaking feeling that Manuel new this was coming and he knew Bartolo would be getting some extra rest so he just left him out there. Cause it isn't like Manuel to let a pitcher throw as many pitches as Colon did.
  14. Well Whoopiti do. I still don't know why the heck Manuel was suspended. Baseball has gotten so ridiculous with their recent suspensions. A guy hits one guy and he misses a start is a bunch of crap unless he was throwing at the head.
  15. SI, I'm young and you don't know how much it pisses me off to get a damn automated machine. You sit on hold and then wait and then found out you hit the wrong button and they have to transfer you right back to it. It also sucks when you call in and they don't have a number listed for your option. All I do now is act like I have a rotary phone and stay on the line and they take me to the people I need it. Almost always its much less wait.
  16. Steff you wouldn't like me too much. If I'm at a game and I'm sitting all far away, after around the 4th inning I'll get up and walk and stand up somewhere (Not in anyones way and watch the game). I'll spot out a few seats that aren't being used (Making sure no one is in them) and then will sit down there. I don't sit behind home plate or anything and I definately don't go running on the field. I also figure I go to so many Angel games as it is, that I deserve to move up every once in a while
  17. Look at the numbers, Sox have had a good bullpen year in and year out and they will continue to have one over the next few years. I have no doubt about it and I also know and believe that this pen will be in the top 5 by the end of the season.
  18. Cause Paulie isn't one to blame injuries on something happening. I think of that as a good thing, although if he is hurt, I hope the Sox are doing something about it. I'm gonna buy into what he says though and I think Paulie will get things figured out.
  19. Dang, I like Hairston. I'd love having him in the middle infield for the Sox.
  20. That was an excellent article. To me the Brewers are the laughing stock of baseball with some of the moves they made.
  21. In my mind Rogers is one of the best baseball writers out there.

Buehrle will right himself tomorrow. Offense seems to be improving as well. Didn't watch todays game (Damn WCIU games) but it looked to have more spark then usual via the gamecast.

He was an amazing talent. I still think a change of scenery and he may appear in another year or so with another club, someone like Tampa or something along those lines. He's still very young.
