  1. Your problably right Vince. It was an error on Wunsch, but Jimenez could of made the play. That being said, the play looks much easier then it is. I know when I played first the thing I hated most is when the pitcher would throw the ball cause they'd always throw curves or some other pitch and they would throw into the runner meaning you were going to get drilled if you couldn't make the catch and get the hell out of the way.
  2. These are the plays that ruin the Sox. The Twins make catches to save runs, while the Sox make plays like this. Now that was a crappy play by Jimenez. Not a good throw either, and I thought we had a play at 2nd (well they would of if Wunsch doesn't have to go into his damn windup to throw to first).
  3. I figured we'd strand a few, all those hits with two outs, not much room for error. Hawkins just whiffed Ordonez to end the inning. If Hunter doesn't make that catch, we probably have a 4 run lead, but things happen and all you can do is tip your cap.

Olivo is a young catcher and there is no problem with him whatsoever. He's got a stud arm and is developing very well offensively and has great speed. In a few years he'll be one of the best catchers in the game. Pitching wise the rotatoin has been fine. Look at the team era, its fifth in the AL, thats nothing to complain about. You can go ahead and complain about White, but forget about Gordon. This is a guy with a 95 plus fastball and an awesome curve as well as a solid slider. This guy is a stud reliever as is Marte and Koch. In center the Sox definately have a problem, but I think were going to start seeing Magglio play more out there and then Daubach and Lee in the corners. I guess the few people that wanted that will get there wish, and I'm not really against it anymore. As far as Manuel goes, a manager adds about 5 games or so or could lose 5 games or so, meaning that overall the difference between a great manager and a bad manager is somewhere around 10 games. The one guy that definately has to go is Gary Ward, but even that I don't know cause I really don't know what he preaches. I also like the suttle changes in Olivo's swing and those have been orchestrated by Ward or at least I think they have. The problem with this team is they aren't executing properly. If this team executes, they will fight for the World Series, if they don't, they will be a few games over .500 This team is loaded with talent and to be honest, I'm sick of all the complaining in a lot of areas. The blame lies soley on those not producing and thats the players. Williams put together a team that could win, manuel is putting out there and doing what he can to help the team win as a manager. He's made a few mistakes and he's made some good calls, just like every manager.
  5. Damn what a great play against Torri Hunter. That kid is absolutely amazing. I'd trade Joe Borchard and someone else for him in a heartbeat. Olivo had a base hit so its now 2-1. Flash has gotten two quick outs. Hopefully he gets one more and then the Sox bats can take things over in the eighth, either tying it up or giving the good guys the lead.

Nope its not official and I won't guarantee that anything is happening until it does happen.

Sweet, 18 is an awesome bday. Have a kick ass day Cerb
  8. I didn't even know he was hurt. I hope he's alright. I gave up watching that game.
  9. That makes quite a bit more sense. Then the Sox have a backup in case someone gets hurt. I'd like to get someone else in return along with them, but I don't know what they have in AAA.
  10. Well if it turned into a bigger deal they would definately want someone that could close (Maybe they would do JG and White for Drew) but more likely I would say it would be one of the better pitchers in the pen, which makes it tough cause I believe to compete you need a strong bullpen. White is expendable. Another guy I'd love to pick up is Edgar Renteria. If we could include a deal involving Jose, JG, and a reliever for Renteria, Drew and then some type of pitcher then I would be alright, still depending.
  11. Here's the question, what if they ask for more in return. In what case would it be too much? To me its a fair deal straight up, anything more would be a tough unless it is a marginal prospect. I forgot all about Stewart (For some reason I always tend to leave him out; Mainly cause I'm not too high on him, but I hope I'm wrong).

I don't have a clue. At certain times on ocassions they slow down. I'll email the server company and ask as well as take a look at the records and see if there was any maintenance. At times there is maintenance and what they do is kidn of turn the server off and on trying to prevent any outages, but it gives slower load times during those short periods. I know when the site had 60 some out people on at once, it was still loading real quick for me, so my guess is it had something to do with the server needing to be refreshed (They have to refresh it every once in a while) or something maintenance wise. I am looking to upgrade the server though to a newer server with the same company.
  13. But if you look at that list of attendance, he's definately spending the most of some of the bottom teams. I also have to say that he spent enough money for the team to suceed. To me the key is, spending money doesn't do it on its own, so just cause you spend a ton, there are still very good odds that the team will still flounder and if JR had a payroll of 80 mill, he'd probably lose 40 mill.
  14. MB

Chisoxfn replied to Soxfest's topic in Pale Hose Talk
WTF am I talking about????? MB started pitching for the Sox in June or July of 2001. Not including this season, he won 15 games in 2001 and 19 in 2002..... hence, 34 GAMES OVER A SEASON AND A HALF. Heh, wasn't Buehrle in our starting 5 rotation from the very beginning of '01? I coulda sworn he was. He won the job out of ST. Am I wrong? He started 34 games last year, and 32 in '01 -- so I don't think your June/July claim is accurate. He came in after Wells went on the DL..... or maybe Eldred. But I am positive he was a call-up. He wasn't a callup. He was in the bullpen and joined the rotation either right during the first week or in the second or third week.
  15. Mainly because Graff has proven when he's an everyday player his numbers take a big time dive. He isn't a starter, he's a hell of a utility player. In regards to Crede, if your blaming your prospect that doesn't even have a full year under his belt, then the team has a lot more concerns then just him. Crede is in a bit over his head right now, but he isn't the problem. He wouldn't even be noticed right now if the other guys were playing up. Lets not forget that it was Crede who helped carry the team early in the season.
  16. I'd do it If its that straight up, I'd do it in a heart beat, as long as we aren't losing Drew immediately. The big worry is Drew's health, but he's a stud of a player and right now I think were all questioning Garland. Not saying that doesn't mean he'll pan out, but it sounds to me like a trade that would do both players good and lets be honest, Drew would be an awesome fit in this lineup both offensively and defensively. The one question is then what with the pitching, do we go with Rauch (I won't complain) or do the Sox turn to someone like Finley?
  17. There is one problem with that theory. Sandy Alomar was Buehrles favorite catcher and Alomar has caught every game except one. He always raved about how great of a catcher Alomar was and how excited he was to have him back, etc.

Hey Alex, edit that signature, you have too many 5's and its stretching the page. I know your Mac won't show up like that, but it effects all the other users
  19. umm white has been in there for a few innings now jas........lol and no i wasnt swearing at the tv i just shut it off......... I just saw him face about 3 batters then turned the filth off and I won't watch it for the rest of the night. I think I dropped every obsinity during the game and having my dad laughing at the craptacular defense made me even more pissed.
  20. Good defense would of picked him up but the fact is Buerhle made some bad pitches. He didn't get clobbered, but he's really missing his spots right now. He's been alright lately, but nothing special. Now it should of been 6-4 if the defense did anything worth a damn, but that didn't happen. Buehrle, use this as a motivating factor and I hope he can get himself in a groove. What I have noticed is Buehrle typically has a game or two like this during the season. That being said, if Buehrle got typical run support this season, no one would be complaining other then for this start.
  21. How many of you have been swearing at the TV the past half hour? This is sickening. Buehrle is leaving everything up and his control isn't too hot. I don't know whats going on, but I hope he can get things figure out. Also, is it possible to cut a player during a game, if so I'd like to get Almonte up here.

In regards to the favorite sox moment/comment section. I accidentally whiped them all up when updating the code. I'm really ticked about it so after that time I've changed to a new way of upgrading code and that is first performing that code update on another server (test server) with the same database and then do it there, before making the changes here. Unfortunately I don't havea clue how to bring back those areas. I do plan on reinputting them into the area though. Once again my bad also check your private messages cause I sent you one two nights ago.
  23. Ohh, it was deleting them. I think you have the ability to do that now, I think I left it unchecked accidentally - But now its checked.
